What would you do if you had almost everything? What would you do?

What would you do in my situation? Would you do something totally different? Do you have any brilliant ideas? Where would you create your community? What country? How would you keep costs down? Who would you bring? What theme would it be? Everyone has been asked, "If money was no object, what would you do?" Any websites or authors you recommend? anything?

Purpose for writing this post: Get some ideas about what to do if you were in my shoes. Maybe you had a cool idea. Fill in any of the blanks.

Here is the data set:

I have a net worth of greater than $5M most of which is very illiquid and would be taxed at 25% to sell it, so I am hesitant to ever sell it. Liquid Net worth is $200k. Annual aftertax cash-flow is $100k per year (because everything gets constantly reinvested). I am pushing 40 years old (I look 30) and feel 60. I am preferential towards blondes with blue eyes and could not see myself anyone else for a long-term relationship. My favorite places are Sweden, Finland, Ukraine, and Southern California for women. I am in constant pain and therefore cannot live in a cold climate...It's got to be an active lifestyle. I am fluent in Spanish and I have a huge undeveloped seaside plot of land along the ocean in tropical Latin America. I have had a good life as an international player...But I am at a stage in my life where I need to change it up. I am not interested so much in the travelling to get laid thing anymore--I want to work on my farm and build something and have the girls come to me. I love living abroad and like a king. Essentially, I want the polyamorous lifestyle in Latin America.

What would you do in my situation? Would you do something totally different? Do you have any brilliant ideas? Where would you create your community? What country? How would you keep costs down? Who would you bring? What theme would it be? Everyone has been asked, "If money was no object, what would you do?"

Here is how I currently answer the question:

I am going to build a small boutique resort in Latin America. There will be a volunteer program for those "people" (read: women) that cannot afford to stay there. I will heavily promote it in the above countries and mostly by referral. I live in a rural area, but there are still a lot of tourists. I am into polyamory, so I will probably hit that community in America. I am going to build lots of pools on my mountain. I have already invested pretty heavily into orchards. I want the resort community to be very green and sustainable in terms of living off the land. The resort will have lots of hidden alcoves and nice pools, but you can also adventure on the land or go surfing. We will always bring in some local latin girls to help and they will like to party and get naked and live in paradise and will always be preferential with bisexual girls. I am going back to school to study construction. I want to build this stuff under my own supervision.

I do want to have a place in Europe. Since I hate the cold and darkness, it doesn't make sense to buy in Northern Europe. But, perhaps Spain or Greece. The northern Europeans like Spain and Greece. Maybe, it's better to rent.

Maybe after a few years of living polyamorously, I will marry the European girl for the EU passport if it all legally checks out. The last thing I want is an expensive divorce. Or I would marry a rich girl and if we got a divorce, we would not be arguing over money.

I guess the biggest problems of all this are the following:

1. Finding a girl who is ok with polyamory is tough. I plan on looking for a bisexual girl...ideally Swedish or some rich girl from America. I have only been in open relationships for the last few years and I have read extensively on this.

2. To bankroll a nice small resort, it might get expensive and be very complicated. So I may want to go slowly. It might cost me about $300k per villa, $200k for the hostel volunteer area, $200k for the pool area and open area and large restaurant style kitchen....Another $50k for 2 small pools. I will need to be cost conscious. I want to build 1 villa every 1-2 years. I want to build out everything very slow. I don't want to spend that much. I am going to have to do some serious cost cutting. That is why I am going to study construction the next couple years and try to general contract everything, hire cheap unskilled latin labor and maybe even have volunteers help me. If you are in the volunteer program then you sleep in hostel accomodation, get free food, transportation and learn cool shit. But, you have to work 4-6 hours a day building things or collecting/preparing food on the farm.

3. I have to market it to a very small niche. I know a few poly communities in the USA, but other than that, I am totally at a loss. The resort is going to be themed. I like the idea of sexy uniforms, costume parties or a "Burningman" styled community that builds and works on art in some workshops I want to build. The Euro-girls are so far away, but I would have to market directly to them.

4. Living expenses are high in Latin America now. People coming to live in Latin America have it much worse financially than in South East Asia like indonesia (Bali for example), Cambodia and Thailand. It might be more economical to create "The Beach" in Thailand or Cambodia. Transportation, Construction and Labor costs are high in Latin America. Maybe I should pack it up and move to SE Asia. The problem that I have found in SE Asia are political and legal risks. For example, in Thailand, you need to have business partners that are Thai if you buy land. There is a lot of corruption and you can be cheated. The same is true with some places in Latin America particularly with squatting. One solution is to lease. I already have $300k invested in land and infrastructure in Latin America. Perhaps I could have two places--one in SE Asia and one Latin America.

5. I want an independant girl. I don't want someone who is relying on me for everything.... she has to have her own thing going one. Maybe she has a degree in tourism management or perhaps she has a phd in some random field of alternative medicine or she is a yoga instructor. I don't want someone who is clinging onto me, or thinks she is going to get a piece of the asset later for superficial support.

6. Lacking purpose. This is a current problem for me right now. I want to live my best possible life. When I on my farm building stuff in the sun, I feel amazing...I have no pain or existential angst. I have to be living my life to the fullest to feel good.

Have you considered Australia? It's expensive, and there is red tape to go through, but you can find a tropical paradise location to develop with a lot of legal security and good investment outlook. Areas of northern New South Wales would be very suitable.

Just a thought. But damn, man, under 40 and looking 30, with that kind of net worth - do whatever the hell you want.

Sounds similar to what I will do in Panama or Costa Rica. I posted about it somewhere on here. Short summary... I'd have a 2-3 story, 4 bdrm main house of around 3,000 sq feet for myself and a wing of 3 attached townhouses for my wife/ex-wife and 2 other women who i'll have kids with, and also 2-4 studio or 1 bdrm apartments over a 4 car garage as another wing attached to the house. The house would look sort of like an "H." Then I'd have ponds with fountains surrounding the sides right against each wing. The way I'd build it would allow me to sell it as either a house or a hotel. The most important thing for me is the landscaping and water features.

If you're trying to create a sexual commune, i'd probably start a very sexy yoga practice in Orange County/LA, and then put your community in Baja.

If you're just trying to have a place that attracts swingers, i'd
1) go to Hedonism in Jamaica
2) develop some contacts with the people who run it
3) approach Latin American resorts with the idea of having a Hedonism Costa Rica, or a Hedonism Nicaragua. Develop a relationship, you take the money via some American entity, and remit a portion to the resort - but you end up running the "sexy" part, and they run the resort part.

Building little cottages in Latin America, and hoping single sexy chicks want to pay for their stay with pussy...

Naw B, it'd be much more financially efficient to just buy some pussy, rather than spend 5 million to *try* to attract some pussy.

I would like to keep the name of the Latin American country private. It would take me a lot to renounce citizenship. And I like all your advice though. Landscaping and pools will be key. I don't want multiple kids from multiple families. I just want one wife and the relationship is open for each of us. Our kids are ours. It's an equal relationship.... And we will have rules: like ultimate veto power or std checks and everything will be in the open and honest. I like the H shape.

I was thinking of having each villa come from a distinct architectural style. Each style would exude sex and spice--moorish, Mexican, Thai, indian, French, Balinese, Roman, etc. the outdoor pool restaurant would Have a fusion of these cuisines and girls would have little thematic outfits and there would be lots of las vegas styled poolside cabanas. I will be an expert in carpentry (from going back to school) and have a CNC wood router and 3d laser to duplicate lots of art ornate architectural woodwork from around the world.

WIA, I like your advice. I guess its not money efficient at all. I just don't like paying for pussy. Also, I would be miserable if I couldn't create a community or put in some physical work. Happiness is really important to me. With friends around me, I would never feel alone. With exercise, fresh air, busy work and artistic goals, my pain goes away. But, you may find an even better way to do this. Or maybe, I can use your methodology In a second hub in southern Europe or south east Asia. Any advice is welcome.

The desire to build is a noble one.

Is there anyway for you to test your idea besides building a full on neighborhood in Latin America?

Cause aside from the houses, you've got to worry about water, waste water, electricity, private roads to and from the public roads.

If you could build a community that's comfortable with going to an established resort and then transition to your own community, that would probably be the safest move.

The "build it and they will come" mind set is part of the reason we had the World Financial Crisis.

You didn't say where you got the money. If you are in constant pain then you probably have medical expenses. Maybe you got an insurance settlement. Or maybe you lived a shitty high stress life and can't go back to your career.

Anyway, you seem to have no experience building and managing a resort. Your money is illiquid, and $5MM can go fast. Certainly forget about places on multiple continents.

I would contemplate moving to where you might like to settle, and working there. You could work in the tourism and hospitality industry enough to cover expenses and get to know the area. Then you could buy an existing bed and breakfast or small resort. You would have a running operation with a few employees and could experiment with marketing to swingers or other clientele. I met someone who did this in Costa Rica.

Go to an anti-aging clinic immediately. Get a prescription/doctor's supervision for testosterone and HGH.

Get your testosterone level fixed, and you won't have a problem finding a purpose.

Why would it be taxed at 25%?

Long-term capitals gains is 15%.

If you were taxed at ordinary income, you'd pay the top marginal tax rate + medicare.

How is 5 million only giving off a 2% return?

If you sold for 5 million and paid this 25% tax, you'd have 3.75 million.

At even 6% return on 3.75 million, you'd get $225,000 a year (which would be taxed at capital gain's rate) without every touching your principal.

So by paying this tax, you almost double your money without every touching your principal.

What am I missing?

Sort yourself out physically and mentally before plunging in...

With such huge funds you could afford the top-of-the-line stuff to get you healthy and happy again. Then see where you're at.

Stuff like

Physical:

Hormone testing
Spectracell bloodwork
Adrenal fatigue testing
1-on-1 diet + exercise coaching from one of the Paleo health guys
Full early cancer screening/tests, heartscan for calcium deposits (may as well make sure you're not heading for trouble, if there are any problems you wanna know now and you have the luxury of being able to find out)

Beyond that, you say you're in constant pain. From what? There are some pretty innovative treatments nowadays for even the most debilitating diseases. Depending on what you have, I'd seriously consider researching the fuck out of the cutting-edge treatments / approaches and see how much you can fix yourself, you have the resources. Things like Parkinsons can be largely halted in their tracks or reversed (really). Fibromyalgia can be eradicated. Busted joints and arthritis can be fixed. If I was in constant pain but with $5m, I'd make this my priority.

And then...

Mental:

Hoffman Process - deep emotional detox
See a Neurofeedback expert - hack your brain to optimise it and sort out any underlying depression, anxiety, ADD, trauma etc.


THEN see where you're at. Everyone has a need for community, connection, purpose. I think you're getting wires crossed with your plan to make a business out of building that from scratch just so you can feel happy... sort out your health and well-being, and then personal life, then see where you're at.

By the way, the "lack of existential angst" you feel when working on the farm is probably just getting more sun. Go to the doctor and ask for T-level tests, Vitamin D tests.
Then start working out a bit (pushups, chinups, etc) and supplementing 2000 - 10,000 IUs of vitamin D daily. 5,000 IUs/day is a solid number to average on.
See where you're at in two months. Feeling old when you're 40 is probably a function of testosterone.

There's a couple issues with your plan. At least in the United States, people who are swingers are old and unattractive. Very rare to find young hot chicks since every guy will want to bang them.

Secondly, why are you limiting yourself to Scandinavian chicks? If you want to establish some type of "volunteer" system to get young hot chicks, your best bet is to try and get young hot Eastern European girls to work at your resort during the summers.

Thirdly, most beachgoing Europeans tend to go more frequently to Thailand than to Latin America. I think your best bet is to target the same chicks who hit the beach resorts in Thailand and hit the full moon parties.

WIA, I am beginning to realize how hard this community and boutique resort idea is going to be. But, my plan has always been to build one house at a time. If lets say I go down there and build one house and dont like it, I can stop right there.

I left out some details intentionally. I guess I am a bit paranoid About putting info onto the internet... I dont like people knowing anything. I made about 850,000 last year. That's what's on me tax return. About 300k went to the government as taxes. Only 100k came into my bank account. Therefore about 450k was reinvested. Its been growing about 15-20% annually the last ten years after tax. I expect the growth rate to be about 7% the next 5 years. (basically, I have no clue how well I will do.).

I am currently taken hgh (norditropin) and testosterone and chrysin and get my hormones Checked regularly. I take a few pain meds 24/7 and my mind is hazy as a result. Let's just assume that I have a very painful illness and my life isn't all that great.

I wish there was a way I can convey to all of you I am not arrogant prick. I am a relatively thrifty person. I am a pretty normal guy and I don't get much support around this stuff. Its a bit lonely especially when the occasional guy says I have it so good and has never experienced chronic pain before. And Not living up to my potential or not living fully is a fear of mine.

Capital gains tax is federally 15%. But what about state?

5M is giving off 2% because of automatic reinvestments.

But, you are still right that I should do some liquidation and i like how you made the point. My return may still run a bit high--15%. That was one of the reasons I was hesitant to sell.

Thanks for the advice. I am on vacation right now scoping out northern and eastern Europe. I totally agree with you about the lack of blonds in Latin America. I want to bring them down.

It has been my priority. And for whatever reason working on my farm has been the best. I need less medication. I have seen so many doctors... Naturopaths, alt med, nutritionist, well qualified MDs. I am bit overwhelmed by the info, the pain and the lack of energy. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia. Maybe we can talk about it in private message.

I know Ukrainians can come over using the Shengen visa and go thru the Spanish consulate but I bet it would be hard (probably a few thousand dollars) for them to get visas if they are not already in the EU. But it's worth looking at more. I want a blonde for a wife/girlfriend, but I still like eastern euros for shorter term.

I agree with what you said about euros (i always see big groups of swedes) usually being in Thailand. I lived there. A friend told me today that Americans can own thai corporations, but it's most likely impossible to own land in Thailand. But perhaps Turkey and Indonesia (ie. Bali or Lombak) is another consideration. Never been to either country.
