I'm eating right now and that mental image is disgusting.

Talking about things happening at the dinner table, over the last six months I've been repeatedly disgusted by women in my family talking about nasty shit related to childbirth while we were eating. JFC, there's a time and a place for that. And since none of these women are my wife or patient, I have no interest in being part of the discussion or even in hearing range of it.

Alight let me put on my hater hat for a second.

I hate people who over-utilize the word "thank you". And this is becoming somewhat of an epidemic here in the US. First of all, it's incredibly insincere. People are saying "thank you" for every fucking minuscule situation or social transaction.

Someone holds the door for you..."thank you"

Hands a receipt at Dunkin Donuts...."thank you"

Bus driver makes a stop and you get off...."thank you"

This is completely unnecessary. In all of these situations, you could either remain silent or acknowledge the action by nodding your head slightly. Save the word for when it is truly needed. A doctor removes your tumor? Ok now you can say "thank you".

Stop pretending to be polite.

Maybe it's less about polite and more about the way you were raised.

I was raised to be polite, I'll always say thanks, your welcome, I appreciate that.

Doesn't mean I'm insincere, for all I know I could of been the only person that said thanks to that person who was treated like shit all day by customers.

I can't emphasize how much this can mean to someone, especially those who work in the service industry.

I just don't give someone a cold shoulder or a nod - if someone did that to at my professional job or retail job- I'd call them a dickhead.
