I live in a small city. In the clubs it's the same social circles. My 'natural' game is improving quite a bit vis-a-vis with the females.

However, due to the clique-y nature of this place, the girls ALWAYS has several beta orbiters/white knights/captain-save-a-ho interrupting things.

Consequently, I've been working on how to befriend the dudes first so that they don't come in cockblocking me. I feel awkward in these situations and wanted to know if you guys have any standard starter lines that sort of kiss-ass and make friends.

It's not football season right now so sports isn't very relevant at this particular time.

Something like:

"check out the ass on that girl"

"you look like an actor/country music star."

I'm a bodybuilder so it's easy for me to make friends with other bodybuilders talking about gym shit (open with "What gym you go to?"), but most of the chodes aren't into working out. LOL.

Any other icebreakers that you have found effective?

Also, I've noticed that folks on this board recommending tooling certain amog interlopers...what are some routines/lines you use to tool a guy without looking like a doofus yourself?

This is a first.

But, its a valid question. You have to be able to build rapport with everyone around you. Social intelligence applies to both sexes.

I usually talk about sports and girls.

Be careful about talking about ass or making dirty "inappropriate" jokes etc. with someone you just met.

If you come off creepy, than it might get to the girls.

Buttering up the dudes in a group is ESSENTIAL. You just don't want to come off as gay or too try hard.

You have to quickly dominate them.

I actually use dudes to show false disinterest in the girls.

You make the girls work for your attention. They have to prove themselves like a little sister hanging out with her older brother and his friends.

Yeah, this is exactly what I'm looking for. Do you have any standard "buttering up" lines? For example, when I talk to bodybuilder dudes, I always ask if they're prepping to compete and then they start preening and they love me. LOL.

But the fact is, a lot of guys aren't bodybuilders, and I always have trouble buttering these homeboys up. Any standard lines?

I had an interesting situation the other day. I semi-regularly go salsa dancing, and I was chit chatting a bit with one of the salseras who brought a beta orbiter with her. I'd given her a raft of shit for not introducing me to her (beta = invisible) friend, accused her of being rude and so on. Fun convo.

Another dude came as I was spaced out of the conversation a bit and was standing directly in front of her talking to her. Historically I'd just ceded guys the opportunity to talk to a girl unchallenged (bad habit from the past), so I thought I'd change it up a bit.

I interjected myself into the conversation and AGAIN teased her about being rude and not introducing me to her friend. Of course, it turned out that this was just some random guy I didn't know and she didn't know him too well, but I pounded away at it a bit. Soon I shook his hand, exchanged names (can't remember it), bullshitted a bit and soon afterward he left us alone.

EDIT: This is kinda more on the the 'tooling guys' theory than 'gaming' them

It was a friendly exchange by anyone's guess, but what (I think) really happened was a competition for ownership of this girl under the veneer of friendly discourse. I noticed it first, proactively interjected myself into the discussion, established familiarity with the girl and bemusement over the situation and controlled the flow of conversation from there. From then on it was a quick exit for the interloper.

Or then, maybe I'm just being overanalytical about something utterly trivial.

I forgot who wrote this or that I might have seen this on youtube but this is something to try. Credits to that guy (whoever you are):

Approach guy with a bunch of girlfriends

Player: Hey man can I ask you something?

Guy: Yeah, what's up?

Player: What's your secret, man? You got all these fine ladies with you, how do you do it?

At this point, anything could happen.

He might tell you how they know each other and might introduce you to the group. He might be disarmed a bit if he's platonic with the girls or could see through your moves if he's a player himself. If he doesn't seem cool to talk to, gently end the convo: "alright man, have a nice evening" and move on to a different guy or approach a girl.

You might be addressing the whole group at this point. Make some interesting observations about what's in the present. Have some prepped stories ready. Like soup says, use the dude to show false disinterest in the girls.

If he's being cool during your interaction, inject this excuse to buy him a drink "hey, I'm getting thirsty you want a beer/shot?" If he says sure, you now have an ally to get your girl.

But then...you still have to worry about the other girls in the group who might cockblock. Hopefully he'll come to your aid and say you're cool to the other girls and leave you and your girl alone.

I think for befriending guys lines aren't as useful as attitude.

Try to come across as a funloving definitely straight dude. You have to convey some social value or they're going to be creeped out.
I also try to offer one sort of covert compliment. Here's an example.

I'm approaching a group of mostly dudes, one girl, and I have a wingman. The wingman splinters off after the initial interaction to bullshit with the other guys. This is actually kind of critical.

"Hey guys, this is my business associate. We do construction"
"Well hey there, what's your names?"
"I'm Hades (I don't actually do the whole 2000 era PUA stuff in real life), and this guy is Blade"
"Nice to meet you guys. I'm Schindler, this is my friend Oberammergau from accounting, and this is my old drinking buddy Krauthammer. We're having an escaped Nazi convention."
"Sounds quite interesting Schindler. Who's the girl? Am I going to hell for imagining this unlikely scenario?"
"You know Hades, the original meaning of your name has something to do with the underworld, so you're probably there already. The girl is my concubine. She's for sale."
"Never thought about it that way Schindler. I'll consider your offer as well. Care for a smoke?"

And so on, and so forth.

oddly enough those topics I would never sit around and talk with some random dude about. Once a guy starts talking about those topics I almost always walk away. Sports occassionaly, but even that is rare unless its a friend.

Shoot the shit for a couple minutes then do a shot together.

Unlike women, if you buy a guy a shot or drink he will almost always return the favor.

Mystery Method archives has some good bits on AMOGing.

One routine I've used with success is to go up to a guy who is with chicks, put your arm around his shoulders in a "bro" kind of way and say "hey man, can I ask you a man to man?" *pause* "do you think it's cool for me to date my ex girlfriends best friend?"

The women will squeal with vaginal juice.
