Great idea for a thread! A few notes:

1). Women's names give away their ages. They can try to lie, but female names -- like female faces -- age quicker than men's.

So you know instantly you're dealing with some age 40 or older as soon as you meet a Donna, Patti, Lisa, Lynn, Dawn, Elaine, Kelly, or Lucy. After around 1980, no girls got those names anymore -- it was all Britney and Alexis because of those TV characters.

2). Does anyone else get annoyed at the trend of parents giving their daughters boys' names? These are supposed to be "power names," and I have an in-law who purposely gave her girls boys' names so they "wouldn't be discriminated against by employers."

Maybe not, but I bet men tend to do some unconscious discrimination whenever they meet a female Drew, Riley, or Charlie. Also note that Hollywood constantly does this in movies, so right there you know it's not a good idea.

Addendum: Has anyone ever met a girl named Amber who wasn't a carousel rider?

Any girl whose name is intentionally spelled wrong means her parents are fucking idiots. So, she is going to be somewhat of an idiot too. I ran into a Janifer for fucks sake.

Doris (one of the worst possible names a girl can have)
Mikaela
Lindsay
Rachel
Brittney
Agnes (rare as hell, but still unforgivable)
Janice
Candice
Any name ending in the 'is' sound in general
Lindsay
Sloan (wtf was Entourage thinking?)
Nicole
Tara (dooming your daughter to be a plain jane)
Bridgette (pretentious, awkward sounding)

The names that get the stamp of approval:
Angela
Teresa
Lindsey
Denise
Cassandra
Elleanore (very versatile, can be shortened to no less than three dimunitives: Ellie, Leah, and Nora.)
Leah

Neutral names:
Karen
Michelle

Living in Japan where girls seem to have a limited pool to pick from [not really the case but it's how I view it for odd reason]

Anytime I come across a girl who's name I haven't gotten yet my interest goes up a level or two, simply to cross a new name off the list.

I think some names are slut tells to be honest. Ever get the feeling some names are just slutty?

Mostly true for whites, but not true for Asian-Americans of either gender, I work with a Beverly and an Albert. If you told somebody in UK that Beverly or Albert was walking into the room, you would expect 60 year old white people.

I fucking hate the name Jennifer, it’s everywhere. I remember going on dates with 3 different Jennifers three days in a row, all of different races.
