Frankly, I think alot of the girls want you to friend them just so they can attention whore and show how "desired" they are by betas commenting on their pics, and turn you into one of those betas. They're so insecure that they need to post pics and dig for attention online, yet it doesn't stop there: the fact that you're above such practices, and don't want anything to do with that, makes them feel insecure as well, so they want to call you "weird" and "awkward" for not joining. They want company for their insecurity.

As a compromise, I recommend my dual profile approach.

But I have added them to my fake Facebook account to mine pictures for my personal collection.

The problem can be partially solved by disabling your wall and preventing your friends from seeing other friends.

Yea that's why I did it. But never again now for sure. Not that I truly give a fuck but I don't want any stalkers. I will probably do the dual profile approach.

This is exactly how you should approach it. The only people on my FB friends list are either long-time friends, old school mates that found me there, some friends of friends, and chicks that I met online on other sites that I've corresponded with over a long period of time, emailed, chatted or webcammed with and developed a good friendship with. And those are all internationals. Too many people add random people that they met out partying. You can't give people like that immediate access to you and your friends/family.

i second this
it can be a massive waste of time, unless you're disciplined about how often and for how long you use it
and as for using if for gaming chicks, i've had little success with facebook game, and i'm finding that increasingly the women i tend to meet and click with either have no FB profile or have a profile but only use it here and there
this is a good sign, it means they are probably not attention whores
it's getting to the stage where if i find out a girl is an avid facebook user, i tend to lose interest, as i know they'll have gotten used to that perpetual circle jerk of multiple guys liking everything they post up (even the only semi-attractive chicks get enough likes from various guys they know to feed their ego)

i remember one girl(blonde, cute but nothing amazing, maybe a 6) who begged me to come back on FB when i dropped off it for a while, once i came back, she briefly flirted with me, then dropped off the radar completely, it's clear that she only wanted me there to stroke her ego, like all her (mostly male) friends

I don't understand why anyone would have their mum on Facebook. I know my mum has Facebook, I've heard her talk about it, but she's never sent me a friend request (and why would she? I doubt she wants me as a friend on there either) and I certainly wouldn't be sending her one. I have none of my family on FB, I don't even have a lot of my friends on it as I have their phone numbers and see them regularly, what reason is there to have them on an social media site? I only use my FB for people I meet travelling who otherwise I wouldn't ever keep in touch with and tbh most of the people on it I don't keep in touch with anyway but it has come in handy a few times when I'm heading off to a new country and I realise I already know someone there. I don't add any girls that I'm fucking or planning to fuck either, bad idea.

If I didn't travel a lot, then FB would be absolutely pointless.

A friend/link that automatically deletes itself after 7 days/24 hours without any action on either persons part. That way people who have just met can "friend" each other without being afraid that they may have to "unfriend" that person later. The chick gets to see your public profile to partially satisfy her insatiable curiosity, and see that you're not "weird", but since the link soon expires she can't do too much damage.

As to the OP's problem. To be honest most mothers don't care too much if their sons are wild, occasional tut-tutting aside, and will almost always side with their son over some chick (obviously). Basically, women want their husbands to be "dads" and their son's to be "cads". That way their (genetic) happiness is maximised.

I find Facebook to be a blessing for one and only one reason - it helps you weed out unattractive girls from the online dating world.

I have saved countless hours of my time by adding a girl on facebook and checking out her many unflattering pictures there. An unattractive girl can mislead you easily enough with a one or two well chosen photos, but very few will go through the trouble of filtering all their photos on facebook, and you can often get a good idea of what she actually looks like.
