First Time for Everything
Last night I was out with a chick a little older and divorced, and she said something funny. She dropped the why haven't you been married line on me. Mind you she got married young so it's all she knew, but I'm 25.

Regardless I'm taking that as the first in a long line of compliments as I do my own thing for the rest of my life. Anyone else want to add on? When did you start getting the marriage question.

P.S as a little extra here's a relevant cartoon for anyone trying to live the life.

Any male, that for any reason seems to be a decent guy or a good catch that's single gets asked this question at some point. Different people will ask for different reasons, but you WILL get asked at some point, more than once.

they're basically saying. 'what's wrong with you ?' - i'm six feet tall, university educated, six figure income, self employed, traveled, at 30 - they're wondering what's wrong with this guy. it doesn't dawn on them at all that you might be single by choice. 'how come you don't have a girl friend' 'how come nobody has snatched you up' blah blah.

this is a perfect opportunity to fuck with them...

i say... well hun. "it's cause I have a really small dick" - (one girl spit out her water) - and they go..."are you serious..."... and they I look them in the eye and I cock (pun intended) a half smile and say... "yeah... it's petite. why do you think I drive a foreign car ? i've got to overcompensate somewhere"

anyways... when you get em' for the blowie on the couch and she's about to go down on you and she looks up and says 'you don't have a small cock...' and then I say... 'oh you don't think so...'

works every g'damn time.

I find this question tends to pop up more amongst provincial, sheltered types, like southern Americans from goody two-shoes households who go to church every Sunday. I had a friend from Tennessee who got "married" at 24. The whole thing seemed like a joke to me and predictably ended in "divorce" two years later. After that, he took on "divorced" as part of his identity, when it was really just a young guy taking himself too seriously 'cause his stupid conservative environment told him marriage at 26 is legitimate. I practically saw him mentally aging. What a crock.

I did get this question in China, but that's because they are ignorant primitives who think anyone past 25 should be already working on their first kid to please the parents.

The only time I can see this question making sense is if someone is over forty. And even then, I do not see why one would assume he must've married, as if it were some kind of rule.

I agree. Build a good lifestyle for yourself and girls will flock at you from every corner. They will think, "hmm he is still single, maybe he hasn't found the right one yet! (you feed them this bullshit they want to hear so they can rationalize to themselves) I'll show him that I'm different than all the other girls!" Then you just pump and dump that ho. Rinse and Repeat.
