You've got it backwards, Bay Area is about hipness, being cool and young. People are around the big internet company money and if you're young there's still some fantasy of becoming much more. I hear ya G. The happiest I've ever been was vacationing on the Tuscan coastline, floating around in a Kayak in the middle of fishing boats and staring up at the sky by myself with a bunch of jellyfish beneath me. Shit, was that poetic or what?

It was the only time I've come back home and hated the fact that I had to come back. My line of work doesn't really enable me to be all that location independent so I have to stick to vacations for the time being.

Spain has been on my radar for some time. It's not that I want to stick to L.A., I pretty much just have to given the lifestyle that I've chosen.

There's a little town called Ojai about 2 hours from L.A. It's the closest thing I've found to the Mediterannean. I'll probably retire there if I do retire in the states. It's just too quiet. I'd lose my mind if I settled down there before the age of 50. I can see myself growing some grapes up there and producing my own wine and getting it on with a bunch of BMW driving wine snob cougars one day.

I'm a big fan of SF for the culture. Not the women. I'm also a big fan of the culture AND women in NY. But it's just too hectic, at least Manhattan. I've never spent any time in Brooklyn.

To me, if I gotta be in the states, there's nothing better than driving along PCH blasting some classic rock with a spliff.

I've done that exact scenario several times at the hot springs. That's my piece of paradise. Taken several girls there to bang in the middle of the night, taken acid with my best friend and watched the sunrise, good memories.

One time some tweaker broke into my car and stole about 3k worth of gear though (I was stupid and had stuff out in plain view), so if you ever go there, just make sure nothing is visible in your car and you have a loud alarm.

You nailed the scene. Weird mix of bikers, white trash, hippy burnouts, escaped Hollywood actors, yuppies, backwater folks. One of the stranger and cooler places I've been to.

Am I happy? Well I'm probably as happy here as I can be outside of London in the UK. I have a really comfortable pad,have good friends,have a decent social scene going on and I'm making enough to live a comfortable lifestyle but I'm just not satisfied with living where I am. I really want to be living in Eastern Europe somewhere,I just love the place,culture,women there but I've fallen into this comfortable way of life and taking the plunge seems further away then ever.

For me Budapest has just about all I want,if it had a Slavic culture it would tick every box and it's looking like I will make that my destination. The Slavic trinity also holds a power over me and if I could find a way to make money there I would probably be there on the next flight. I'm constantly thinking of ways to make cash out there but what I did here ( had my own shop ) will be hard to make work there. I really envy the location independent guys on here who can go where they like.

Maybe the Aussies here can chime in, I hear if you have a passport from an Anglo country (Canada, UK, New Zealand) you can immigrate to Australia before 30 easily. Is this true?

I think Kiwis get to reside in Aus anyway.

Brits, Canadians etc can get a one year working visa only(like I got). But there are many varied occupations in the skills in demand list. Even hairdressers can get a skilled visa.

Had a great time in Oz, I was last there in 2004. From what i've heard though these days you have problems with exorbitant cost of property in the main cities, then there is the obesity epidemic etc.

Most liveable country I have ever been to though

I live in Singapore, and for now its ideal. Its clean, safe, efficient, good variety of cuisine that can be relatively cheap, low taxes (15% in Singapore vs average 40%+ rate I was paying in Aus), its becoming more international these days (so I'm not just limited to local poon), nightlife options have improved immensely, and most of my good likeminded friends are based here.

On the downside, it can get abit boring and monotonous being here after awhile but another Asian party city is just a short cheap flight away (Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Manila) - which is why I usually travel 2 weekends a month, the locals' attitude can get bit annoying as well, its like living in a sauna 365 days a year (but I rather that than sub zero degrees) and certain things are very expensive (eg. car, renting by yourself, alcohol, etc). But hey nowhere's perfect.

Now that I'm kind of semi-retired though, I'm toying with the idea of doing a 6 month stint in Europe or other parts of Asia during the warm months to learn a foreign language and do something internet startup related. However, there are some family matters that need to be sorted before this is possible.

I also lived in HKG for three years, and whilst the nightlife there are slightly better than Singapore, I still prefer Singapore because HKG is too densely populated and polluted, apartments are like shoeboxes and the locals are rude plus they don't speak alot of english.

Ease, quality of women, and safety are at the top after money concerns are handled (but if you make money online, location doesn't matter).

Living in a funky place with easy cute girls would be sick (China and much of eastern europe satisfies this category). these places are safe, cheap, but not dangerous and tend to have medical care, and are much much better for women.

As for the west coast of the United States, I couldn't recommend it really. LA would be sick if you were even moderately connected, or clicked into the right scene.

Places like Ohio, Kentucky, or the south are good because rent is so fucking cheap. 400 bucks a month for a 2 bedroom house near cities of a million people, many of them hot country blonde chicks.

1. Atlanta comes really close to being ideal for me. The winters are not harsh and its a great city with beautiful outlying areas. Westfield, Jersey City, Cranford NJ, and downtown San Francisco were also nice locations. I don't buy into the idea that there are ZERO places in America that match the working, social, and sexual lifestyle of a financially established single guy.
2. Those are travel destinations in my eyes. I'm not ready to take a huge pay cut, learn another language and live in another country for "easy cute girls".

Haven't found my ideal setup yet, but at the moment my idea for the future is to buy a condo in Bangkok and an apartment in Budapest, and split my time between them. Bangkok gives you unlimited women, and great food, Budapest gives you gorgeous women, great cultural life and easy access to the rest of Europe. Both places are really cheap to buy property and to live.

You could buy a truly dope bachelor pad in each of those two cities and have lots of change from the average home price in my hometown in Australia.

Brits (and presumably Canadians) can emigrate to Australia full time if they have skills which are in demand in Aus, I know a few peoples who have done it.

Aus is fun but too expensive for my liking, rent, food, beer etc all cost too miuch. I couldn't think seriously about living there.

Sir, I agree with your disagreeing! London is an example of a city that is just great because of multiculturalism. So is Munich and perhaps Zurich (both to a lesser extent compared to L. of course) and I am sure many more. Whenever someone raises their hand to say that multiculturalism is the reason for one or many issues, I'd say try to figure out what the problems really are. I very much doubt it's because some percentage doesn't speak your language, doesn't celebrate your holidays and pray to another god.

About the actual topic: I am currently back in Bucharest. This place left a very good impression on me a couple of weeks back and now I am confirming. Chances are I'll spend some more time here in the future.

Things I like: Warm, friendly people (although there are black sheep that try to rip off tourists), nice nightlife, very feminine women, everybody speaks English or German or French (or all of those languages for that matter), lower prices than in my country. But mostly its the vibe of the people.. I don't know how to describe it. But it's a little bit as if my DNA would match with this place well.

Places I want to check out next though:

- South Africa
- Vietnam, Thailand, etc. (SE-asia)
- Former soviet republics like Ukraine, Kazachstan and so forth.

Who knows, maybe one of them will be a better match than Romania.

But that is the positive side,the thin veneer. It's like saying the Euro currency is a good idea because it makes travel easier whilst forgetting the huge fiscal negatives for countries finances.

The negatives of multiculturalism are seen in places like the northern towns in the UK which have become ghettoised,where whites are not welcome in certain parts and Asians not welcome in the other. Where there is practically zero trans-community contact. I lived in Oldham ( Manchester ) for a while and there is bitterness from the native white population that their town is losing it's British identity and becoming a mini Peshawar. It's only when you see you are the minority and resented by the incomers that you begin to see the reality of the concept. I'll tell you a story: my mate works for the post office in London. 80% off the workers in his sorting office are from Pakistan/Bangladesh. On his first day he was told by a Muslim worker that as a white male he was never allowed to talk to or approach a Muslim female worker in the sorting office,he had to go through a male first. That is the reality of a multi cultured society in many places. I have blacks and Indians in my family through marriage,I'm of Polish Jewish ancestry so I have no axe to grind with immigrants as my grandfather was one but there has to be an acceptance that if you move to another country that you should adapt and assimilate to your host countries values. Unfortunately that does not happen with vast swathes of immigrants. Yes the Polish shops are cool,the Portuguese restaurants awesome and the Russian girls in London great but behind that veneer is a seething hotbed of failure and anger at the multiculturalism that successive governments have promoted or turned a blind eye to. From that anger you get the vile parties of the right such as the BNP or the EDF.

Good things have come from immigration but a whole host of shit too that us who don't live down on the lower rungs of society in the ghettos witness.

I'm not one bit happy in Toronto, career wise (way too much competition and high preference for females in the professional job market) AND well Toronto women are just special. Hence currently about to purchase tickets to Europe, specifically Denmark and Germany as i have family in both (i'll look up data sheets on Germany though not Denmark ), also visiting Norway, probably sweden, then somewhere in EE for a brief period of time.

Same with me, but probably Bangkok and Rio, even though I have not been to Rio yet. 4-8 months in BKK, 1-2 months in California, 4-8 months in Rio. Rinse and repeat with some 1-3 month excursions to places like Dominican Republic, Colombia, Peru, Vietnam, etc. thrown in every once in a while.

I think this is a great way to avoid getting burned out on one specific place. Also will allow you to have good social circles in two cities that you really enjoy. It's enough time after a couple of years to have a really good grasp on the language of each country if you put in a bit of effort. Being conversational in the local language, having a nice bachelor pad, and a good social circle will yield you lots of quality pussy for years to come. Not to mention being a fuckin killer way to live your life.

Ah, the joys of working online.....except for the fact that I am flat broke right now so it might be a little bit before this becomes a reality hah.

Are you working to make hundreds of thousands a year?

Even if you are, you may want to consider somewhere in the middle of the country. A place like atlanta has decent weather and is pretty cheap.

And it's not a paycut for me to relocate, since my business is online. You can make 200 grand a year and live in Manhattan, LA, or SF, or 75 grand and live even better in another country.

My main point is that you can have much better sexual opportunities in other countries, ESPECIALLY as an older established guy, where women want a man who is much older than them and takes control financially.

If you are making 200k in the US, you may not leverage that to get very good pussy....whereas in Ukraine, Poland, Czech Republic, you'd have your pick of hot blondes all day long. That's all.
