I should know by now to never click on a link he posts, especially when I know it's going to take me to a page that exemplifies the beta condition. I got burned by this when I was younger. You think you're taking your relationship to the next level by being "open and honest." Like most of the poor saps in the link, you try to rationalize it. But that offers superficial comfort.

The LTR notch count comparo is probably one of the worst conversations you can have with a woman you're banging. Nothing good comes of it. NOTHING. And one thing leads to another, so the next thing you know, she told you that she banged 7 guys, but there were actually 4 or 5 more because she counted the 5 man gangbang she participated in right before she started seeing you as only one, because after all, it happened in the same setting.

If she does, dump her ass.

Even if your own notch count is in the high double digits, you shouldn't tell her. It can show high value, but it also removes some mystery. A dark, sordid past trumps notch counts.

A guy should never raise this topic because it always suggests beta insecurity. But what do you do when they raise the topic? A simple answer is best. "I don't know, or I don't recall," are great. She assumes you should know the exact number. So the only reason you wouldn't know is if you've really had a lot. She may feign disgust, but in reality it increases your value. If you follow up with "I prefer not to dwell in the past (pause) mine or yours", it deepens the mystery surrounding you and makes it clear that you have no interest in discussing guys she's banged before.

So, don't ask, don't tell, and if she tells anyway, dump her immediately.

Agree with Chris Rock hah. If she says a number that is lower than you hoped for/expected, you will never believe her. If she says a number higher than you hoped for/expected, it will always bother you.
