Here in the US it seems like a waste of time if you have standards, but abroad i hear it's different.

I don't see any reason to do it if you are in a country with a lot of beautiful women. All you have to do is go outside and try a little.

I was thinking the same thing.

I have never done online dating (I am too old school) but I could see a benefit in doing some Before you go to a place so you can hit the ground running (so to speak).

Sort of lob some bombs before storming the beaches, if you will.

I'd watch out with that stuff.

You wind up with a mail order bride.

I know a guy with a Filipina wife and 2 kids. He claims they "met online".

Immigration fees and airfare included she was 30 grand. They told him that the government over in UPI would have charged an extra 10k if a prenup was involved.

It can happen to you.

It never hurts to have another "marketing channel". In the US, i've got a few profiles up on social networking/dating site, and even if I don't actively message girls, every so often a girl will like my vibe and message me. Easy lay follows.

I don't know, I just always viewed it as a little desperate. But I do agree on where you're coming from. I just couldn't see paying a website to find me desperate girls.

I used to feel the same way until I tried it. Let me clear up some myths:

Myth#1: Only desperate people use online dating. Browse through profiles and see how many hot girls & cool guys are on dating sites to dispel this myth. I've noticed the mix is close to normal life: some ugly chicks, lots of average chicks, and some really hot chicks. About the same as you'd see in a club.

Myth#2: Online dating is done "online". All the real magic happens after you get the phone number. The online part is trivial. The "real-life" part is key. Your phone game better be tight, and you better have game when you meet her in person.

Partytime is right. I've done online dating abroad (only in Asia, though) and my hottest pulls were from online dating. There was this site I used in Shanghai that allowed me to sign up for internet dating for a free month with payments after the trial. I messaged a bunch of chicks, took four of them out, and banged the two hotter ones. Didn't really work out with the others.

It's true that the game doesn't really start until you get her number and meet up with her. The internet just removes the necessity to do a cold approach, after that it all comes down to game and language ability.

Another thing: if you're in a country like China and you don't speak Chinese, online dating is one of the best routes to go. When girls go to an expat dating website to meet single guys, you can be sure that they are open to banging foreigners and that they speak enough English for you to tell them to take their pants off. At the end of the day, I feel like it's less of a matter of stigma and more of a matter of practicality. I wish I had found expat internet dating before I landed in Shanghai so that I could have started banging right after baggage check.

i've done this before and have used to to bang a few hotties. here's how i did it - when i was going to visit a country for a few weeks i got on myspace and did a search for girls in the particular city. then you can scope out the hotties and send out a template email to a bunch of different girls basically saying 'hey i'm going to be in your city, you seem like a cool stylish attractive girl who knows whats going on, are there any places you recommend i try?" this is totally a number thing, send a whole bunch of emails and you will get responses, and some will iinclude phone numbers and invitations to hang out. i'd definitely recommend it.

Not only that, but if you dont know the local language, you save a lot of time by concentrating on women who know how to speak yours. They are looking, they speak your language and they are open to foreigners.

i did it in Sofia, Bulgaria. i was there for several weeks so i had some time there. dont do it if you're only going to be in a city for a day or two but if you are going to be there for a few weeks by all means try it out
