Ericka is a local M.B.A. dating coach who had 120 dates and got married through JDate. She brags about the 60% response rate to her messages. But she was pretty, 29, and 100 pounds. I give her props for being hot and working hard to find a husband in her prime.

Her post is instructively honest, but aggravating.

I’m a huge advocate for women e-mailing men on online dating sites, and I’ll even dare to say that a woman should suggest meeting for a drink ... . When the bill comes, ... I’d actually opt for [just saying “Thank you so much!” or saying “May I contribute?”]. Just hope he doesn’t take you up on it! ...

When I got there, ... he was drinking a nearly-finished coffee. I certainly didn’t care about that, but when the check came for my latte (a whopping $3 and change), he never even looked at it. Apparently he had already paid for his drink, so he took no responsibility for mine.

She messages guys to meet, orders for herself, and expects the guy to pay. The asymmetry is striking.

I agree with her advice. Men have the burden of picking up the first check, and women have the burden of looking hot.

I hate first dates but...I just grab the check to keep the ball rolling. Depending on how she is about it entitled, ungrateful determines how many TV remotes will be shoved in her ass at a later date.

Not to mention that I know how my mini online relationships end up so I just smile and take it in the ass for a while because I know I'll be giving it back 10 fold in the end.

Here's how it plays out Divorco (not that you don't know)

1. I message girl

2. We chat

3. I freeze out

4. I send. Sorry I don't check here much call me @ 727 xxx xxxx

5. I text hot then go cold.

6. Re-start text when she thinks I'm too busy for her then get the date

7. Show up for date half drunk and stoned

8. Make her catch up.

9. Bounce venues

10. Bring to place for sex or if I don't think it's logistically possible start losing interest in her to make her feel insecure

11. Freeze out texts blow off her calls.

12. Re-start text with slight interest

13. Plan a meet with logistics in my favor.

14 Sex

15. If it's good put her into the rotation for a week or so.

16. Blow her off and send bullshit excuse texts until meltdown.

17. Touch up key scratches on my car and front screen of house.

18. Hit it again if I'm bored/drunk/lazy

And that's how it goes.

To the girls/lurkers..I've done this over 100 times and there's nothing you can do about it so see you in hell.

Yes, I always appreciate this kind of honesty, even if I don't agree with her viewpoint. She loosely defines "date." She did the inviting, yet still expected him to pay. Maybe HE didn't see it as a date, but meeting someone for coffee to get to know them, and THEN scheduling a true date. I've always found the maxim that you should offer, but if he takes you up on it he's cheap, and you should never see him again to be bullshit. It's a silly game. Most men will pay, but resent being played or manipulated. Don't offer to do something you know you don't want to do. Yeah, it was only 3 bucks. So PAY IT.

Her advice to women to initiate and send messages to men is sound, though most won't do it. If you see a guy you find interesting, why not give him a holler, instead of hoping he comes across YOUR profile?
