Well this is something I never expected to see on this forum....
I actually grew up in Vermont so I've spent considerable amount of time in Burlington. I feel like this thread is somehow trending with the presumption that Vermont is actually pretty good for game and women. Unfortunately I couldn't disagree with that notion more. But to each their own and it definitely depends on your type as well. So let me try to break down Burlington and some of the things people have suggested here.
UVM girls: Probably something like a 98% chance they are to be from New England, New York, New Jersey or Pennsylvania. Most girls will be very liberal and the outdoorsy type. They will likely be very masculine in their ways compared to any European or Latin girls. Most likely 95% blonde or brunette white girls, of like Irish, Italian or maybe eastern European descent. Appearance isn't so important to people in Vermont, so this is kind of the general attitude, no one will go out of their way to really look that good. They probably are from middle class or maybe mid-to upper class families. They probably love the Boston Red Sox. Most likely brought up in communities where it's either cool to be the football or rugby playing jock, so they typically will trend towards athletic guys, but some will be more open minded and be into hippie guys or whatever their little niche is. But overwhelming majority of New England girls are into sports guys. Because they're young and in college they will probably still look pretty good until they're like a year or two out of college and start letting themselves go. Most girls will be from smaller towns so they do care what others think of them and what people will say about them since Burlington is pretty small and word will get around. But they will still try to party hard and get wild because they're young and inexperienced and on their own for the first time. Yes, most are probably laid back, not golddiggers or anything like that, but they kind of are petty in my opinion. They will probably be extremely intrigued by foreigners or people from completely random parts of the US outside of the north east — there's not really that much tourism in Vermont.
You'll also have St. Mike's (the private catholic college) and Champlain College kids in Burlington, but it's pretty much the same type of people that would go to UVM, maybe just not as well off. So pretty much the same for them.
Now, to directly address some things said here:
OP said the chances of picking up girls is very high in Burlington....I guess I could agree with that statement while college is going on, but personally if I had to rate what the talent there is, I would say 4-6's. Probably some 7s, but I really am not a fan of these small town / New England attitudes or personalities so to me that knocks some points off.

I can't believe people from Quebec of all places would be into Vermont girls. I used to go to Montreal pretty much as much as possible in the summers because girls are so much more feminine and pretty up there! Like they actually were trying to take care of themselves, which girls in Vermont really aren't all about. I would kind of agree that people in general in Vermont aren't so fucking crazy in the head like people elsewhere, Vermont does have good, genuine people. But there is definitely plenty of shitty fast food in the state. Girls from Vermont will not age very well. I dunno if it has anything to do with the food or the way they eat, but seriously, girls who were 9s in their teens are like 3s now in their late 20s. It's insane.

I guess it's all the dairy we drink in Vermont? I dunno. I remember some girls having great tits when they were in college, but they got pretty burnt pretty quickly during their college years and after. I guess the shelf life of Vermont girls is pretty short.
To expand upon the nightlife stuff a little bit, yes, Church Street really does have like 95% of the venues right there in it's vicinity.
-One place off Church Street is called Higher Ground, which is a concert venue, but it's a pretty good place for shows when they have em. Great place to pick up college chicks at.
-Red Square - one of my favorite places on Church Street. It's definitely more of a fall/spring/summer location because it's got some outdoor space, so it's obviously cold right now and during the winter. But pretty popular place with a decent crowd.
-Esox - a no-frills dive/skater bar a few years back. Not sure if that's still it's main clientel but that's where I was a lot. Think, snowboarder girls. Technically not on Church Street but right around the corner.
-Nectars / Metronome - right now to Esox, this is a place with smaller concerts and cover bands or random nights of really random events. Been to a wide range of shows and things at these places. I went this summer and Friday night was like salsa night - something I'd never ever thought I'd see in Vermont. I was super confused when I walked by and heard Colombian music. Unfortunately there were definitely no Colombianas or girls that rival them inside. But a cool spot, just keep an eye on the calendar for decent events. I think this is where lots of the hippy Phish/Dead cover band shit is at too, if that's your thing.
-Manhattan Pizza & Pub - a pizza place but with good music some nights. Kind of also a dive / skater bar but I liked it. Actually kind of more diverse than I'm making it out to be when school is in, I think, since it's a pizza place too.
-Ruben James - a little sports bar or something of that sort next to Manhattan Pizza & Pub. Usually a random mix of different crowds of college kids.
-But honestly the best advice is probably to just walk around the Church Street and Main Street area and see what looks like it's got the most going on.
I think I'm jaded cause I grew up on Vermont and my main objective in life was to get the fuck out of there and see what else was out there, but I do actually think Burlington is a pretty good small town. Hard for me to even call it a city because it's so small. But I had some fun hanging out with friends up there and crashing in UVM dorms and going to random parties with strange UVM students that were friends of friends. Definitely a unique place, kinda like Iowa or Colorado, but not as good or big.
