It goes down smooth with just a bit of throat tickle. The buzz is in-and-out... three quick cans and I'm happy for an hour or so. After that my brain returns for high level thinking. Perfect summer beverage.

The only problem is it's hard to find abroad. Colombia and Ukraine have it but not many other countries. Brazil has a lot of beer that tastes similar (Brahma for example).

I can't say I'm a fan of dark beer or micro brews. Just give me something crisp and functional, like Bud.

Budweiser tastes stale to me, it's my least favourite beer. I don't find it crisp or smooth at all.

My favourite brand is probably this little known Scottish company but I doubt it's available outside the UK...

The 77 Lager is super crisp and goes down so well, quite strong for a beer too and the Trashy Blonde (pale ale with a hint of passion fruit) reminds me of Vietnam (I spent Xmas there a few years ago drinking passion fruit beer on the beach, yum).

Beer Lao is good and you can get it in the UK now.

Chang is dangerous and the Changovers are lethal. Apparently because of the method they use to brew it they can't guarantee the strength ineach individual bottle so the 6.5% on the label is an average and it can actually go up to over 10%. I can believe it too, have seen times where 2 bottles has me feeling wasted. I like Singha but my beer of choice in Thailand is Leo, it costs 3baht more than Chang (in 7/11), is normal strength and tastes 10x better.

Cheap beer: it was always silver bullets and keystone light growing up.

Didn't see your post the first few times I read this thread.

Bell's Oberon is absolutely delicious. Huge fan of it here, and I love the fact that I can get it in bottles or mini-kegs.

How does it taste? I've never had it. More full bodied and with light to medium hops bitterness, I'd imagine?

I don't know about that, but I would give it an 8 out of 10. I only had two last night and feeling a bit ropey today Probably because I haven't drunk anything in ages

RE: What is your favorite beer?
Honestly, my favorite beers are the mass-brewed lagers you find in stores everywhere, and I can barely tell the difference between them:

- Budweiser
- Molson Canadian
- Alexander Keith's (this is big here in Eastern Canada, not sure about anywhere else).

Give me any one of these cold in a glass, I'll like it and I probably won't be able to tell you which one you're serving me.

There are only two exceptions to my liking this kind of beer:

- Labatt blue, IMO, is a remarkably disgusting beer. It's like they made an alcohol free beer and added alcogol later.
- Coor's light basically tastes like carbonated water. Not a fan.

Yeah, been boring here in Leipzig. My colleague is away on business, I'm house sitting for him. Just staying in all the time. Good thing is I've done a lot of good work. Back to Ukraine next week. Last summer I was in Lvov I went to nightclubs and got drunk 10 nights in a row

Ten nights in a row is nothing. I did 5 months of being drunk every night in a row on my recent Thailand trip.

I don't drink beer much anymore, but my two favorites are St. Augustiner Brau Helles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Augustiner_Helles.jpg)

and Estrella (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Estrel...EnCopa.jpg)

Honorable mentions and recommendation to: Red Stripe, all of the Deschutes Brewery beers, especially Cascade Ale, and pretty much all German beer.

I am sure there is much better but i don't want to drink enough to find out.

There are two types of beer drinkers: those who like Chimay and those who don't really like beer.

I don't really have a favorite beer because some great ones in the winter are too heavy for the summer. I love Belgian white beers, anything that Unibroue puts out, Spotted Cow, most of the Sam Adams brews, Blue Moon (in summer), any porter (in winter), Kona Longboard, John Smith's Extra Bitter, Bellhaven Wee Heavy, Tetley's...too many to list.

And to the guy who said Guinness is all a man needs: I have nothing against Guinness, but have a Beamish and see how it compares.

RE: What is your favorite beer?
Ah shit..I went from beer heaven germany to suburb america again
I used to live in a town so small..it didn't have a walmart.
So as stupid as it sounds..I never knew walmart has such a big alcohol section.

Minus the big names, coors, bud light ect, all these names seem foreign to me.
Has anyone tried some of these smaller name beers at walmart?
What are some decent ones to try?

Ive taken a liking to the Blue Moon seasons beers.
Harvest Pumpkin Ale and Caramel Apple Spiced.

Ive been seeing commercials for Fosters lately..is this really an australian beer? anyone tried it?

I am the cock carousel

I'm not a beer expert, but I can't be bothered drinking anything else except Chimay. Life's too short.
