I noticed that too. My previous GF was 10 years younger so I touched on that topic recently in conversations with my family on different social setttings and most of responses were negative or confrontational. None of those made sense or were logical to me. No real reasons. Just emotional shit or lessoning from idividuals without real hand experience of that. That was good experiment. I now know that what I think is valid

Family and friends have voiced concern about dating girls 10 years younger than myself. Bottom line is, the older a woman is, the more of a risk she is for a LTR/marriage. How many cocks/broken hearts does she have to go through before you pick up the baggage?

It's ALL bitterness and jealousy. Only those who haven't done it bitch about dating/LTR with younger girls. Whether they just ended up with a girl their age or they couldn't get younger chick, that doesn't matter. They just instantly try to discredit your situation to make themselves feel better.

Yesterday I tried different angle for my own selfish fun of it and results were hilarious. You have to try it. What I did was I asked people.. WHY NOT? Why would you not do it if you had a chance? Basically it's a trap. No matter what they say they will make fool of themselves if you use their shit against them.

They freeze in silence trying super hard to come up with some lame reasons. This is funny to see them start mumbling as their male hamster runs on nitro. I like to say then.. you see?

They point out disadvantages that to good healthy man are actually advantages. They are immature [great, I can teach them things about life]. They don't know what they want yet [cool, I can show them what they want]. They are inexperienced [good, they can look up to me]. They have hidden agenda [yeah, if you're a fool every girl will take you down sooner or later]. They need wild dick in bedroom [hmm, me in a nutshell, besides they all need that].

They blow it out of proportions by judging younger people for being immature and making them retarded. This is very easy to reframe, just use their shit against them, point out that their attitude towards young women is a reflection of themselves and what they say says more about them not girls they refer to.

Anyone actually done any research as to WHY this "half your age plus seven" came about?

Apparently it was first written about in the 1910's and 1920's in Parisian magazines, during a time when dating cougars was fashionable. It sought to normalize this bizarre notion of men dating women only slightly younger than them and those older than them. Prior to this, for virtually all of human history, there was usually a one-generation difference between husband and wife. After major wars, such as the US Civil War (4% of eligible bachelors dead, many others injured to the point of not being suitable for marriage), two-generation differences were common (same held true during French-Indian war and American Rev.

An english author adapted the "plus 7" rule for his book "Her Royal Highness Woman", and then in the 1950s a popular play "The Moon is Blue" cemented the idea amongst the learned-class.

In any case, I'm 35. My last girlfriend was 19, the one before that was 25, and the one before that was 22. I live near DePaul University in Chi-town, so the vast majority of my tinder hookups have been with 18-20 year olds. For bangs, I think your rule is good. But, I think the 'half your age plus 7' is pretty good for relationships. I'm in my early thirties, and having a serious relationship with an 18 year old (or younger if law permits) isn't particularly appealing - unless they were particularly mature and interesting for their age I suppose. Almost impossible to find that in the anglosphere, though there are exceptions (often foreign).

Edit: As an aside, in regards to unmarried 30+ year old women, it's staggering how many I know from school etc. Society is really fucked, and with all the degeneracy I witness I become more traditional/conservative with every passing day. ^ In my experience girls change tremendously from 18 to 21-22 years old. Mentally that is when they go from girl to young women, and are usually much more pleasant to hang out with.

After that the mentality doesn't change much and usually gets worse. Some guys would say "oh well she is still sheltered and in college at 21-22, doesn't know the real world." Well, that's a great thing. You want to be the one to bridge her to the real world.

I think if you see potential in a girl that is 18-20 and can make it through a year or two by dumbing yourself down a bit the girl often changes drastically by 21-22 and the wait can be worth it.

Rather than taking the lazy route, and saying hey I need a finished product right off the shelf. That finished product often times got banged around a lot and changed for the worse before you get there. You are better off helping shape that product.

From a social stand point again if you can brush off the criticism once a girl gets into early 20s the social stigma also changes drastically to where a girl at that age is more allowed a much bigger age gap. You really shouldn't care about this anyway. Time is limited, death is permanent. Is the reality of a few people you know that whine, and a few dirty looks when you're out worth sacrificing a much more likely fulfilling relationship that has a better chance of lasting?

I have one plate, in another country, that is 23, smart chick, sexy, love being with her. But I am finding that some of my best experiences are in the 18-22 range.

I have been inspired by Giovonny. I am really only interested in girls under 25 or 26.

I finally decided that I am only going to hit on girls in the 18-22 range. About to meet an 18 year old for coffee right now.

Saw the title of this thread and couldn`t agree more.

Case in point: broke up with a pretty serious ex a few years ago but kept in relatively close contact (huge mistake for what it`s worth, but I have lived and learned). She found out 6 months or so later that I was banging a 19 year old. Even though there was only a slight difference in age (I was 23), she was furious. She knew I had been with other, non-19yo girls, which didn`t get this reaction. The thought of being bested by someone she viewed as a child was too much for her. She started trying to establish contact more and more, wanted to get drinks, etc. Eventually I called her on her bullshit and that was the end of that.

Every woman is innately armed with a fierce desire to be and look young again. Any occurrence or event that reminds them of their fading youth is equate to a dagger straight into this part of their ego. This thread could not be more accurate.

I do not disclose my dalliances with women any longer. Not with good friends, acquaintances or with anyone for that matter. I date 10-20 years younger. Occasionally I will date a woman my age or older. I've found that by taking about your woman; be it relationship advice, bragging, whatever, people just get tired of it. You always want to have an air of mystery about it, and let people ask you.

The Access has been a shotgun approach. A little of everything, day game, night game, seeking arrangement, Tinder, organic grocery stores, etc. There is no magic bullet although Gio has had some of the best advice. In a city where there are college campuses........

I have gone to Mexico City and day gamed in the Condesa for hours. Coffee shop after coffee shop after cafe, and Tinder.

Approach has been using suit game, when appropriate, then just working the situation. I have found that sometimes I get a number and they get really spooked and you have to do some phone calls, texting, go slow over a couple of weeks or months before you get any opportunity to spend some time with them.

I don't bring up age and they don't usually either. I shave my facial hair because I have some gray hairs. I don't try to dress 'youthful' per se but I do wear a stylish suit and shirts.

Overall, there is no secret except for patience and perseverance.

I answered most of this in another reply. But I would add that there seems to be a couple of inflection points in men's age where you go from young guy, to a guy in your late 20's early 30's, then to being 'older', then on to the silver fox range.

You have to build your own game based on your own assets and who you are looking for and what they are looking for. I think at your age you would have a different approach than I would. I am into the next age range.

Older man game (pre-silver fox) is about playing into their fantasies or ideas about older guys. Be active, in shape, dress well, be very mature and articulate, don't give advice all the time (lecture) but ask questions about them, don't be judgemental. Have interesting stories and don't bore them. Take the lead, plan dates, and, you will have to instigate physical contact as they will not usually do that. Except for latinas, I have them usually immediately grab my arm as we walk down the street.

Also, I tend to avoid the blonde american suburban chicks and date Latinas, and black girls.

I completely agree. Only one or two of my close friends knows the age of the girls I date. However, I think one is about to become a LTR and I might have to come out of the closet ;-)

its more appealing than a relationship with a 30+ year old. Once you hit 46, the half your age plus 7 formula gives a result that starts with 30.

My understanding is that "half your age plus seven" was popularized by Malcolm X in the 60s, and was taught to him by his mentor and leader of the Nation of Islam, Elijah Muhammed.

I think a lot of folks focus on the sexual aspects, but there are two other aspects that are important. One, an older man is in a better place mentally vis as vis a younger woman. He is more ready and more mature, and they are better aligned. Second, a younger woman is more likely to look up to and obey an older man. Both aspects are related to relationship success. But yes, this is threatening to older women not the least of which is the practical matter of supply and demand - at their age, the supply of available "age appropriate" men is quite small, which is why they insist on dating men their own age or younger:

I dated a girl during her first summer out of high school. She was fantastic.
