I'm a week into this now. I've noticed the hardest part is figuring out what to with the thoughts and urges that come up during the day.

I was going home to visit my parents in my old hometown earlier this week and I drove past the house where this girl I used to know lived. She was a year older than me and totally gorgeous in the face, dark hair, plump lips, big tits. When I finally got the bang it was epic.

Thinking about that really got me going mentally. Eventually it passed. But I could easily see how it could have lead to browsing porn and fapping.

I think my long term success is really going to depend on what to do with some of these urges. Even with regular sex from my girl there's still all the other hours of the day or streaks where I am alone. I don't think substituting other habits is the right answer and hope that eventually I can rewire my brain and learn how to deal with it.

There's a few camps re: new years resolutions.

1. Basic bitches: "I'm gonna go to the gym this year!" (doesn't go to the gym)

2. Self improvement bros: "You should be making resolutions everyday, new years is for losers" (doesn't accomplish anything)

My take? If you need the new year to push you to do something, you aren't gonna do it for long. That's why new years resolutions never work out - once that motivation fails, you fall into your old ways.

However, a new year is still an excellent opportunity to start something new, especially NoFap/NoPorn. There's something extremely motivating about saying, "I haven't masturbated this year."

There might not be any juju about a new years resolution, but like moving into a new apartment, a new year offers a new opportunity to keep something clean from porn & masturbation.

So, if you're on the fence about this challenge, I highly suggest you use the new year to keep yourself in check.

Even if you aren't trying to go the distance for 1 year without masturbation, the new year offers a chance to establish new boundaries for yourself. For example, you could opt-in to masturbating once a month, on the last day of the month. No matter what your commitment is, it'll be made stronger by applying to a fresh new year.

It's also a great excuse that you can give to girls. "Oh, I came really fast, it's because I'm doing this thing this year where I don't masturbate." They'll relate to the new years resolution, and even if they think it's weird, they'll understand.

Repeating your commitment out loud (especially to females) will further cement it in your brain, so use this time to start fresh and take a step forward with this challenge.

I've already done a couple of weeks of noporn (revving up for new year) but dear god I think I'll go mental if I can't have a manual release every now and then, say once a week.

In for the porn part, but regarding fap, doing it as least as possible, only in the case of emergency ("cleaning the pipes") if subjected to longer period without sexual release. There are some negative side effects mainstream nofap/noporn community doesn't want to acknowledge because it would discourage some of the people. I'm 360 days into no fap. Solid, no lapse at all not even at the start. Looked at some porn only with my wife, as she likes it more than I do. I have no interest in watching it anymore. Limit sex to every 14 days. I started no fap on 06/01/2018 and used it to build testosterone when going for my black belt in Shotokan. It was a worthy mission, and I think it's added to my weightlifting. My 1RPM deadlift is now 432lbs. Two years ago I was a jaded out of shape dad, overweight at 108kg. I think when I started out I could maybe dead lift 130lbs. Now I am 95kg and lifting 4 a week, karate 3 days a week.

As part of a lifestyle overhaul no fap is very valuable. I feel better now at 38 than I did when I was 23. I would be disgusted at myself if I broke my stride now. I see it possible never to go back to fapping.

I have not watched porn or masterbated for over one week. I decided to quit using facebook, instagram and a penpal website I am on. I actually feel really good. I notice how much I constantly look at my phone. Evwn though no one is writing me. Gonna switch to a flip phone for a month too.

It's 2019 and I went the whole year without looking at porn in 2018. I'm proud of myself.

I was never a porn addict but I used to watch once a week or 3 times a month.

I also made a commitment to fap a lot less.

I've gone on 90-day streaks before of no fap.

The results are an increase in horniness and an increase in mental clarity.

I live on the beach and just looking at women during the day provides an incredible motivation to approach.

I plan on never watching porn again and to continue to FAP a lot less.

And normal girls (not Thots) with less than 1,000 followers will block you on Instagram for simply following them (I didn't like any of their pics or commented on anything, or even messaged them). 4-5 girls have blocked me for 'following them'. All of these girls have open profiles, none were private accounts. This is the state of online game.
