Day 1 here, I've been trying the last couple years to quit. Longest streak is somewhere around 18 days. It's not even really sexual anymore, just a habit that has worked itself into my routine very deeply.

A little bit of a backstory. It's a bit blunt, possibly NSFW (no pics or gifs) if the boss likes to sneak up on you..

I was married from 2003 to 2015. The last few years of it were pretty much a sexless marriage, if I said six times a year, that might be overestimating. And my hand was on my johnson a minimum of 3x a week.
Three kids from the marriage, which I have a significant amount of the time. I typically have one evening a week off (in most cases that's dart night), and every other weekend. It makes it a bit difficult to go out and game, as my time is limited.

Since the beginning of the new year, I've been keeping track of bangs and faps on the calendar. Red marks for the faps, blue marks for notches, blue marks with orange trim to signify a new notch.

Seven notches since the new year. Two were repeat notches from 2016. The other five were/are new this year.

Fapped only twice since 1/1/2017, both in January. Caught myself fiddling with it occasionally, but not to the point where I was edging or 'just had to rub one out'.

I just used a day/date calculator..

TODAY IS DAY 120 NO FAP !!

Things I've noticed so far on NoPorn/NoFap (in no particular order):

Pre 90 Days:
- A somewhat positive outlook once I crossed the 30 day threshold
- A lack of initiative around days 35-45
- Difficult to keep from fapping around days 35-45 and 65-75
- A couple of erotic dreams around day 55-60, with me waking up to sticky sheets
- A bit short tempered (but I had an understanding why I was like that)
- A few sporadic bouts of depression. They didn't last very long, I'm talking maybe a few hours. Usually when any potential new notches and repeat bangs went quiet, all at the same time. It would get discouraging when you're hitting up 4/5/6 women for a weekend bang, late night joust, or even a nooner, and the phone is sitting there silent. Those were the times I thought about rubbing one out to clean the pipes and make myself feel a bit better.

Over the course of the first 90 days, I also found myself less tolerant of things. Not 'snappy' or 'curt', but any responses I had to anyone regarding what I thought about something weren't very sugar coated. Afterwards I would say to myself, "Damn, self.. that was pretty good."

Post 90 Days:
- Stronger erections
- Appears bigger/thicker
- Faster ejaculation in the first round
- Stamina in the following rounds
- Desire to get more physically creative with the bang (unique positions)
- I'm smiling and laughing a little more (than usual)
- I find myself more approachable as well as my approaching more (this is/has always been a stumbling point for me, most of my notches come from online, based on my schedule with work and my kids)
- Very low tolerance for bullshit (true bullshit, not just something I may disagree with)
- In the same venue, counterarguments I would have with anyone seemed to be more pinpointed and precise.
- I'm getting better at spotting cucks and male SJWs (?)
- No Fucks Given regarding offensiveness*

* Example: Swiped right and matched with a woman on Tinder, using a version of Vlad's 'Serbian Notch' profile. She had face pics but no body pics, I have body pics but no face pics. We moved to Snapchat, and she requested a face pic. I asked for a body pic first. She asked again for a face pic, and suggested I might be hiding some hideous disfigurement.

(A year ago I would have relented at this point and sent a face pic, 1-to prove her wrong, 2-to try to secure the bang.. but sending her the pic would have given her frame control. Wait a minute.. she swiped on my direct 'I want to fuck you' profile. She's the one that needs to validate her worth to me, and why I should pick her).

I countered that she must be hiding a body of whale size proportions. Her hamster started spinning, and after a rant of defending her 'hot body' (which I haven't seen to date), I simply answered that "if you have to tell me how hot you are and not send a pic, I'm guessing you're hiding something", followed by a gif of some 350 lb woman doing jumping jacks... Next.

As far as my approaching and my being more approachable, I don't know if that can be attributed to NoFap, or if it's just the natural progression from being on and reading the forum. Regardless, I'm fine with the result.

The first 90 days or so were tough as hell, I won't deny that. Once I crossed that 90 days though, it became a lot easier to keep my hands off my dick. And while you mileage may vary, I found that marking faps/notches on the calendar made a huge difference in that it was a visual reminder of my progress.

I want to summarize by saying to the guys hitting 'the wall' in the early stages, stay with it.

Being on the other side of 90 days, it's fucking worth it.

This happens. I have no idea why, it just does. Almost like it's some sort of test. Look upon it as temporarily misplacing your mojo. It'll be back, and the absolute worst thing you could possibly do is rub one out. I've learnt to shrug my shoulders and find something else to do, or neediness can creep into your texts.

While there are pros to nofap (mostly in terms of motivation and drive), there are also cons. After 7 days I can't focus on anything else, plus I'm highly irritable.

Noporn on the other hand only has benefits. Even though I'm not on a nofap streak, I still continue to see benefits from having quit porn nearly 2 months ago.

I have nothing against nofap itself. But I'm even more of the opinion now than before that porn is what's evil. Just don't be obsessive with fapping.

No alcohol - two weeks in and pretty easy so far.
No coffee - withdrawal symptoms were tough but breezing through
No porn - not that difficult, was getting bored with it anyway
No fap - MUCH HARDER THAN I THOUGHT. I had a failure that was less than 7 days in.

Going to review this thread and see how you guys made it through especially horny moments. I really like how no fap bottles up my sexual energy that I can then channel into my game. This is especially useful for a man of my age.

There's a ton of ways to fight urges: go for a walk, meditate, exercise, pushups, flex quad muscles (pulls blood from cock), close the fucking computer, get laid, deep breathing, positive affirmations, journaling, cold shower, the list goes on.

The best way is to occupy yourself. Hate to turn into a southern preacher but "idle hands are the devil's playground." The best streaks are when I'm busy as hell.

Like I have told many guys here before, this is one of the most difficult addictions any man will ever try to overcome. I can only imagine hardcore drug addictions (crack cocaine, heroin) being similiar in the withdrawl effects. For me it was easier to give up all food, and drink only water for 7 days.

Have a look at the the last 20 to 40 pages for all our methods for avoiding relapse. Blocking porn on ALL devices is essential. Avoiding triggers like softcore sexy photos is also necessary. Any fake trigger or stimulus that is not a real female (that you can approach in real life) must be avoided. Cold water on the head and cold showers are very effective when getting urges. Keeping your hand away from your dick and making it into a fist also helps. Keep a religious book nearby when you are alone in bed. Lifting weights when horny channels the energy elsewhere. Avoid being on your own as much as possible. Only in cases of really extreme difficulty, (when all other methods fail) total fasting (drinking only water) can be effective in destroying all sexual urges.

A full reboot of the brain takes 90 days of no porn and no masturbation, but beginners should really focus on attempting abstaining in 7 day blocks. When you get to the end of the 7 days, go for another 7, and so on.

Keep a diary of your symptoms (mental and physical) as the days/weeks progress and post updates here.
This is really helpful for other men.

Once you succeed Roosh, I strongly suggest putting your newly gained NoFap methods, experiences and knowledge into your upcoming new game books.

Go onto any NoFap community online, especially "yourbrainonporn" and you will see that is the minimum agreed time in which your brain returns to it's default state and the addictive damaging behaviours can be considered "conquered".

Any less than that and the benefits will not last, and you will eventually relapse.

I'll get this off my chest for you and maybe there will be some benefit to someone.

I did the abstinence thing for a little more than 90 days. I abstained from porn, masturbation, sex, and alcohol.

after around 95, I resumed my old ways and jerked off to some porn or whatever for about 2 weeks.

I'm now back on the abstinence wagon for around a week at this time.

Abstinence comes with some newfound challenges that I did not know how to deal with.

For example, at the 90 day period, I had a struggle with my attitude, being short tempered, and felt like something was bottling up inside.

I was very sensitive emotionally.

I got to a point where my sexual frustration was intolerable.

I knew I couldn't just go out and bring some pussy back home because I live in a weird small town and there's problems and a bunch of other reasons. Anyways

I was sitting at home, frustrated, started watching porn, to deaden these feelings, to make them go away.

I said I need to jack off so I don't get in trouble. Because my attitude and overall short tempered were getting me into some friction, I was getting involved with people I probably shouldn't because I wanted some female attention.

Some girl with a boyfriend was always calling me and coming to my house to pick me up. I was extremely distracted and stopped going to the gym.

I would sit up at night and couldn't stop thinking about it.

I couldn't concentrate because I needed the attention but I wouldn't make a move because it wasn't right. It's a small town and I was already getting into problems just from associating with this person.

I didn't like the sight of porn, it repulsed me, I felt guilty, cut the computer off and hopped in a cold shower.

"i have to get out of this house. I have to do something" I said.

So I go for a drive, and put some music on. The sound of any music is soothing and sometimes makes me cry now at this point.

I'm always "talking to God", speaking with the infinite.

I don't need coffee or caffeine, it's like I have two reserve energy tanks that are always full and replenish automatically.

Gym days are a breeze and my gains are astonishing. Sometimes I don't believe mirrors because my forearms are humongous. I don't believe they can be mine.

I brag at all

So to remain anonymous I put a craigslist ad up and meet this girl about an hour after I put the ad up. Nobody knows her, noone knows I know her. It's perfect. But she's fat.

I'm ashamed.

She's a nice girl. Offers me her car, brings me food, but the shame....

I jerk off daily for 2 weeks. The first times are incredible, but my energy drains and I don't have that extra umph anymore.

I'm not that intense anymore.

I lost the presence I had in front of people.

But I'm not losing my mind either.

Worse than anything else, I'm numb, it feels like I've cut the cord between myself and the infinite who used to always communicate with me.

so I laid up in bed and had to concentrate really hard.

I said "I'm sorry I know I did wrong. I didn't know what to do or handle. Please forgive me and let me start over."

So now I begin again. Like a bodybuilder to decides to start competing again after years and is totally out of shape.

That's what it feels like.

But I'm thankful for the process now. I know what to expect.

I'll admit,

90 days was uncharted territory for me.

Which is fucking sad. It is.

But I felt things that I now want back.

The sensitivity. I was incredibly in tune with something powerful. And responsive.

It was like I was intimately connected with the spiritual realm.

Maybe this sounds corny. It's the naked, bare, stripped down truth of my experiences.

And hopefully I'll be better prepared to deal with them again.

There's nothing I'm trying to preach here, but maybe if anyone has any advice on how to cope with the strong emotional aspect of going deep into abstinence...

Day 1. My first target is 7 days.

Recently tapered heavy drinking down to no alcohol in the past week. Also supp'ing Zinc and switched to heavy workouts recently so also already feel like my body is surging. Might as well try NoFap and really try to ride the lightning.

You have to do 60 days just to see how the energy builds and clarifies. It's like a light comes on at the end of the tunnel.
