funny that nobody mentions on his list: "she must be open minded, allowing me to occasionally fuck other women and maintain my harem..."

Its a ploy. I have far less stress now than I do from when I was married. Then again you did write committed loving relationship which would be less than 25% of marriages nowadays.

Perhaps that 25%, has chosen to live by the true covenants and tenants of what a marriage is supposed to be, and, have clearly avoided the things that have been proven to destroy a marriage.... cheating, greed, arrogance, no patience, no understanding, and last but not least, pride. I have never heard of a marriage being destroyed by love or the contents therein. Perhaps it's all a fairy tale to some, but I have seen it work. Takes two, to make it work. Marriage is not the problem, its either one of the partners that will be at fault, not the covenant itself.

I would say the most important thing is that she has to be a sweetheart. That would encompass several things, such as her being nice, nurturing, feminine, ect. Honestly, I would much, much rather have a sweetheart of a wife who is a 6 than a cunt who is a 9. A woman being a cunt is the absolute worst quality possible for a potential wife.

I forget who said this. It might have been a comedian but I don't know and I don't remember the exact quote.

"At the end of the day, all a man really wants is a woman who is nice to him."

As many of you know from my previous postings, there is one thing (in addition to what was mentioned in this thread) that my wife needs.

***drumroll***

MONEY!....Since I live in the USA, I need to have a wife with money JUST IN CASE something goes south in the marriage and she would not be able to take part of MY HALF of everything. I want her contributing as close to HALF as possible, so IF she ever decides to try to take half, she would basically be taking HER HALF.

It's nice to imagine that one person can have all the characteristics that you desire, and that these characteristics will remain constant over time, but it's not very realistic. The ONLY reason I would ever consider getting married is if I wanted to have a family. In that case being a good mother would be the major factor. That would include being attractive, being smart, and not being mentally unstable.

Expecting a wife to be able to sexually interest you forever and ever is a bit crazy. In that light someone who is not too threatened by minor sexual daliances on your part would be great.

I'm quite sure that, given a husband and a wife with roughly the same amount of money and earning power, the courts will still award child support and significant alimony to the woman? I thought that this was the main gripe about the USA legal system?

Yep. This is the ONLY reason I would get married. To start my own family unit. Granted, at different stages of a man's life he may marry for different reasons. His first marriage may have been for family, but then subsequent marriages may be for companionship because he's already had kids and doesn't want more. At the same time, I don't see the point in marrying for companionship alone. Maybe some guys can't take care of themselves, so they need someone to do that.

The hot thing is important in the sense that YOU have to remain attracted to her. It isn't about whether or not there's a consensus among other men as to where she falls on the looks scale. As long as a woman stays in reasonable shape, even with a few wrinkles, a man will still find her hot if she possesses those other qualities that contribute to your happiness. If you marry a chick ONLY for her looks, then yeah, you'll get bored quickly and look to fuck something else because you simply don't want to be around her.

Do you think there is any truth to men living longer, healthier lives when they are in a committed loving relationship? Or is it just a ploy to get more men to either get married or stay in a marriage? All of my brothers and uncles are happily married and they don't seem to suffer from as much stress from the daily grind.

It's interesting that the possible reasons for men living longer in marriage as opposed to outside marriage are never really delved into. The primary reason is that men probably engage in less risky behavior when they have others that depend on them. However, from the married guys I know, married life isn't always less stressful. Perhaps men take better physical care of themselves (they eat better, get more rest, etc.). At the same time, women still outlive men, so why is that? That's another question that isn't delved into in detail. I believe men still experience more stress and work harder/longer, thus shortening their lives.

Men, live longer today than in any other time in history, so I don't think women outlive men just because we work harder/longer. I also submit that there is more stress and anxiety more than ever, yet human beings, are living longer. Human beings are programmed for "intersubjectivity", hence the search for a mate, or, companionship, at the very least. I could think of lots of reasons why the risk/reward ratio favors that of a married man, as opposed to a single man, iffffff, he married the right whore. You mentioned one already...(less inclined to act on risky behavioral thoughts that would be a detriment to health/your oath.

No. The main gripe about the USA legal system is awarding a wife/child support much more than needed if the man earns a lot of money. The formula is still ((her net worth) + (his net worth)) divided by 2. The guy may lose out if he does not ask for joint-custody. If the guy is going to settle for just seeing kid(s) on weekends or once a month, then the courts will award more money to the wife/mom.

I have a buddy now (who lives in Minnesota) and did the joint-custody thing. His ex actually TEASED him saying that she will take most of his money. Well she doesn't make too much less than my friend (both make good money) and he got joint custody. The courts decided that he pays her a very small sum per month. Unfortunately, it made her even more bitter and he pretty much was the parent who attended all of the kids extra-curricular events, etc.

RE: What is the ideal wife, or definition of a wife to you?
3 reasons that I see, in theory, to get married (traditional, lifetime monogamous marriage).

(Theoretical) Benefits of Marriage for the Man

1. Support and regular sex early in life. Young adulthood can be tough for men. They are starting their careers, taking risks, and just beginning to take care of themselves so they can take care of others. Sex is hard to get after college if your player skills aren't great. A good wife will give her husband a leg up on the competition. Whether it's extra income, domestic work, great sex, emotional support, or companionship; a good marriage is better than the sum of its parts.

2. To raise a family. I think most understand why this is a benefit so I won't cover it.

3. To share a lifetime with a woman you love. I haven't, and probably won't ever experience this. But I believe men are the true romantics. It's men who will passionately make love to his 50-year old wife not because of some physical fetish, but because when he holds her he recalls the many years of her loyal devotion and sacrifice. Through hardship and success, pain and sorrow, joy and happiness, you've been through it together, and you see her face and hear it in her voice when you bring her to orgasm for the 10,000th time. Rejoice in the Wife of Your Youth.

I think it's plain to see that modern marriage does not offer any of this to men, by default.

#1 Young marriages in modern culture are risky and unstable, when they happen at all. Men are not taught how to be good husbands and women are definitely not taught how to be good wives. Neither are taught how to seek out a good lifetime mate, nor is there any pressure to make that decision early in life. Women, especially, are unwilling to take a risk with a man who is not yet established, especially when there are so many alphas giving her attention right now. Men delay as well, of course, but for the most part young men are never given the option anyway.

#2 Starting a family is a huge risk. Divorce culture (divorce porn, monetary incentives). Family court meat grinder. Broken families. Heartbreak. Financial ruin. Kids who hate you. The risks are enormous.

#3 There's no such thing as a golden anniversary anymore. Even if she doesn't gray divorcerob you, because your wife wasn't willing to get married until she was 35, you don't remember her youth. She's not the love of your lifetime. And that's assuming she doesn't become a repulsive, narcissistic materialist bitch.

SO, with that in mind, what to look for in an ideal wife? In the current world:

- Absolute faith in her ability to be true to her wedding vows. (Loyal, committed, trustworthy-- everything)
- She needs to understand her own sexuality and accept some responsibility to tame it.
- Beauty (you need the desire to game her, the sex needs to be worth the sacrifice.)
- Dedication to healthy lifestyle.
- Cannot be lazy. She needs interests and motivation to be productive in life. This isn't because it's a turn-on (it's not), it's because she must not be a burden. Plus, a lazy-ass woman is a prime candidate for divorcerape.
- Rational, and capable of working through conflicts with reason and sense. At times in a marriage, your game WILL fail, and when that happens you need a woman capable of seeing reason and working through the difficulty on your terms, not hers.
- Has perspective. Knows how to be selfless and caring. (Lifted almost directly from the link at the very bottom of this post that most of you have probably already read)

If you're considering marriage, absolutely do not accept anything less than this. Men have a rationalization hamster, too. It's much smaller and weaker than a woman's except in the most beta of men, but when it comes to marriage that hamster WILL work against you. It will try to convince you to overlook her bad character.

I know some dudes who say that their sex decreased drastically after marriage. A friend of a friend hasn't gotten a blowjob in 2 years.

We laughed at him for a while. The dude is only 26 for chrissake.

Marriage isn't an option. I'm too greedy to take care of another person and waste time raising and teaching a mini-me. I still have loads to learn. The last thing I want is to lose my freedom.

I can tell you right now that her being hot gets old after a while... after you've fucked her several hundred (or thousand) times, is she still going to look hot in your eyes? Take a look at Tiger or any other celebrity married to a pretty wife who fucks hoes much uglier than her. No matter how hot she is, you'll grow tired of her and will want something fresh.

Yeah, but if you're gonna be stuck with someone for the rest of your life, they might as well look as good as they can.

Sounds like your friend needs a mantervention. Some recommendations there if you don't think buying copies of Bang & Day Bang would go over very well.

RE: What is the ideal wife, or definition of a wife to you?
I'm in a LTR with a very nice girl that ticks almost all the boxes. She's by far the sweetest girl I have ever dated, she's cute (not absolutely gorgeous, but definitely very cute, about a 7), she's nurturing, eager to please, cooks, cleans and all that. Worships the ground I walk on. Is eager to have sex anytime I want. Has a good career and we make about the same money (while her moneymaking potential is probably higher). She was born and raised in Eastern Europe and has very good relationship with her parents who are still together after over 30 years. She definitely brings value to my life in multiple areas and I honestly have no doubt about her loyalty. Looking at her mom she should be aging quite well.

But... she's almost my age, which means after 30, marriage and baby rabies set in. I'm simply not ready for that. Committing to one pussy for life is a big one for me. I don't want to cheat, did that before, but it's more risk than worth at the end. I tried to talk about spicing up our sex life with swinging etc., but it just got her upset of course. The sex is very good but the call of the strange is simply strong. How do all married men do this? I imagine they either get some side action or just quietly suffer and try to numb this instinct. I have banged/dated some really hot girls but I never once felt "this is the only pussy I want to bang for the rest of my life".
