Couch surfing profile help
Anyone have some good templates for setting up a CS profile. Thrying to get it as tight as possible for the summer. I have read all the previous treads but couldnt see any actual good profiles.

Doesnt have to be your own just something you think would work.

I am setting it up as a host and then Ill switch it around in Sept when I move to Canada.

Thanks

RE: Couch surfing profile help
Here's a few suggestions after being active on there for about a year now.

1) Before anyone even reads the content of your profile, they have to find it in the first place. Always list your residence as a major city, not the neighborhood or district within that city. For example, when I first started, I listed the neighborhood I was in, and got virtually no requests. Then it dawned on me that CS's search system isn't smart enough to realize my neighborhood is part of Los Angeles and anyone searching for a couch in L.A. will never find me. So I changed my city to Los Angeles and requests started coming in. That one little tweak alone made a huge difference.

2) If you live in a place with lots of hosts to choose from, realize that you are going to look like a little 1 inch square thumbnail in the search listing. Try to have a photo that even when viewed at that size will still pop out. Maybe because of the colors or maybe there's something mysterious about it, or maybe it's a very good looking photo of you. But don't make it a bland generic photo. People should be sort of drawn to it(same rule with a dating profile).

3) I take it you are looking to host chics in town looking to have fun. So have a profile that appeals to them. Show photos of yourself having fun out with women and doing interesting things. It's okay to have a couple outdoorsy type photos too if you like that sort of thing(which I do), but don't be like one of those guys where all your photos are you hiking and kayaking. Put up some interesting travel photos with you in them. But the most important ones are photos with girls who are having fun. Girls will feel more safe staying with you if it looks like other women are enjoying themselves with you.

4) Your profile should read as fun, interesting, playful and a little flirty. The last part will make sure that you don't have a ton of backpacker dudes hitting you up. I make sure to mention that I only want to host people who are fun, outgoing, spontaneous and adventurous. I rarely get requests from guys anymore. Even though I'll still host a dude every now and then if he seems cool and interesting.

5) Set your hosting preference to only one guest. Don't host 2 or more girls. You are probably not going to get a threesome. Only host one chic at a time. Unfortunately this will lower your number of requests since most girls travel with a friend. But hosting two girls at once makes it almost impossible to isolate one.

6) If you get a couch requests from a sole female check her profile carefully to see if there's any signs of her having a boyfriend. Sometimes you'll see someone who left her a reference mention something about her and her boyfriend.

7) Respond within the same day. Set up your account so that it sends you email notification when you get a new requests. An attractive, solo traveling girl will have zero problems finding a host. So if you get a requests, reply quickly or someone else will.

8) Put a keyword/keyphase at the bottom of your profile that she must type in the subject line of her request. This insures she read your profile and actually has an interest in meeting you as opposed to spamming dozens of people with the same generic request. You ideally want to host girls who send you a personalized message and find you interesting.

9) Mention that they are free to use your kitchen and hope they will share with you. You want to have these chics cooking for you as long as they are in your house.

10) Remember that CS is no excuse for not going out and trying to meet girls in the real world. Keep your normal life going, but just think of CS as something to play with on the side. Once you set up your profile there's very little investment time. Just sit back and see what trickles in. Meanwhile you are still out in the field doing your thing. Also don't expect all your CS experiences to be good. While I have hosted some girls and had a ton of fun, I've had my share of duds too... Girls who seemed fun when messaging me, but in real life were cold and boring as hell. Girls who were annoying, had boyfriends at home, etc. Just keep that in mind, people aren't always the way they present themselves online, so don't get your expectations too high.

Oh, and I highly recommend not hosting any American girls! I've done it few times and only once was the experience positive. Maybe it'll be okay since you live in Europe, but just be warned about them.
