When a girl asks you "what'd you do last night" - just as a casual conversation question, not as a probing suspicious question - and you did nothing, how do you respond?

Do you C&F: "Wild orgy and intravenous drugs."

Do you make up a lie: "Friends birthday. Awesome time. Champagne everywhere."

Do you tell the truth: "Read American Psycho for the 3rd time. Love that book."

Then what? Change the subject? Expound upon your response? Ask her what she did? Start a new conversation thread about tomorrow night or tonight?

Half a second glance down and to the left and then back up.

"Nothing."

Slight grin followed by a split second under the breath laugh.

Continue denying knowledge of anything. Her interest will be piqued and you don't have to lie about anything.

It takes some level of skill to pull off but becomes second nature (though it's weird to type out). Poker face is key.

You can always go with the "oh I hung out with a couple of buddies" routine if you want to be safe.

Ok, and then...? IME, yes girls interest may be piqued but then they go, "come on, tell me!!!!" So then do you reframe?

And that only covers the 33% of the time you're face to face. The other 67% of the time it's either on the telephone, texting or IMing. Body language and subtle laughs don't carry over to those (arguably more common) media.

I think this kind of depends on the chick (age, type, etc) and how you know her.

you can do any of the aforementioned, or use something like

volunteered at <insert charity or place>

helped so and so with <moving, fixing something, etc>

did some work on my <insert interesting activity like writing a book, music, etc>

Or you could just go the route of doing something interesting everyday, even if only for a few minutes, then you are always telling the truth and don't have to think up anything

Works for me. Just don't take her seriously or answer her question straight up and you're fine... unless you actually did something cool. She may lose interest.

You did something! say "nothing" like Gmac says "Her interest will be piqued and you don't have to lie about anything." Tell her what you did. Maybe don't say you were on 4chan or reddit all night but you did something. Move on to the next thread of conversation.

Is this someone you have gone of several dates with, have banged, and are now seeing? You won't get much flack if you read a book or watched your favorite movie. Just answer the question without apology or shame. You did what you wanted to do because that's what a man does.

Someone new your talking to? well, you did something, like I said:
Cooked dinner and failed? tell the story. Read a book? What did you like/hate about it. Hung with friends? say you hung with friends. But move on to something else if this is a hangup.

I sometimes answer something similar if I'm asked "what've you been up too lately".

"Ehhh..running from the law, dodging child support payments and planning my expatriation. H'bout you?"

It gets a chuckle and nobody has ever said, "no, come tell me what you've really been up to??"

Thing I've found is that nobody but your closest friends even give a fuck what you've been doing or what you been up to anyway. It's just one of those filler questions to start the conversational ball rolling. There's no more depth to the question than when the person ringing up your groceries asks "how are you doing today?" It's just a protocol, they don't actually give a shit when it comes down to it.

If a girl asks, "what did you do last night" I've said "hiding from you." Then a little cocky/funny banter ensues and within a minute we're talking about something else.

Depends on several factors: whether we've banged yet, the type of girl, what image I'm trying to project.

I might say something like this to one girl and the complete opposite to another.

Girl: What did you do last night?

Tuthmosis: Jerked off to your pictures.

Girls: Ew! You're disgusting.

Tuthmosis: Whatever. You know you did the same thing with mine.

IMO, in American culture, you are expected to do something on weekends.
It's kind of late to ask a girl out for Fri/Sat on Wed. Because it shows you don't have a plan for weekends and by accepting it, they can also reveal that they have nothing going on weekends.
I am sure when a girl asks her what she is doing tomorrow on Fri, she wouldn't mind telling her 'nothing'. But I don't think she will give the same answer when a guy asks about it.
I am frustrated because I have to set the Appointment with them like a business meeting. In fact, you can see your doctor or lawyer by giving them 1 day notice. With girls? at least several days or even a week. But that's just the way it is.

I think you have to do it just like everyone else.
Eg: all guys inflate the number of their hookups. If you tell them the truth, you will look like an loser.
Although they all know everyone is not telling the truth, they all go with it.

Im with GMAC on this. The "nothing" with a sly grin is gold, works all the time. They assume you are covering something up and you can normally tell by their reaction how they feel about you. Also works beautifully in many other situations, like when a female asks how you know another female: "oh her, we just hang out once in a while" grin and look away.

Or find something that DHVs you.

There are so many variables. What she is into, if she has a sense of humor, what my intentions are, what is going on her life, what is going on in the world.

Same thing for the following on conversation. It depends on how she reacts and what you said. I keep the playful vibe up, its how I screen. If a girl doesnt have a sense of humor, I am not interested.

I usually just piece together an innocuous night out with a friend based on a few places I've been to recently. Considering that the answer most always would be that I went out alone or with a wing man to pick up girls, I always end up having to BS a bit with this question when a normal girl asks that I'm not gaming but don't want to broadcast my identity as some ladykiller either. With a girl you're gaming, there are cockier and funnier responses I suppose.
