After losing La Liga for Real Madrid , and being wiped out by Chelsea today in the Champions , I might ask : Barcelona\Messi's golden age is over ?

Too early to say it. The way they lost was absolutely unreal. I have rarely seen a team dominate so much, create and waste so many golden chances and end up losing. At this level, if you don't capitalize on your chances, you will get punished and pay cash for those misses. Barcelona have only themselves to blame for not making it comfortably to the final. They should have already secured their passage to the final last week at Stanford Bridge where they should have easily won 2 or 3-1. The team looked physically and emotially drained. This is a team which has been dominated world football for the past few years and you could sense a bit of emotial fatigue. I have rarely seen Messi play a game so anonymously, let alone 3 in a row like these past 3 games. Despite this heart breaking loss, Barcelona is still head and shoulders above the rest.

While watching the game, one thing that jumped at me was how they come they never or very rarely shoot from outside the box. They should use their fast players to create space and take shots from outside the box. It was frustrating watchign them passing the ball endlessly around. At times, it was as if they wanted to walk into the net with the ball.

I wanted to shoot Dani Alves. That guy pisses me off. He's madly talented, yet he's so predictable with his moves. Why doesn't he take on the full back one on one, goes past him and deliver killer crosses?

Let's hope Bayern finish off Real and La Una aka Mou Mou as I'd hate to see that bastard and anti football man make it to the final, let alone win it.

Nonetheless, mad props for Chelsea. They made the impossible come true. They came back from the grave so to speak. However, in the final, they will be sorely missing 4 key players: Ivanovic, Terry, Ramires (he will be a HUGE miss) and another one I forgot.

I very much agree they looked a bit emotionally drained. They will probably still win titles, but it might be the end of their period of TOTAL dominance. Whichever European club gets Neymar will have a good chance in the coming seasons now, as he is the only one that has the potential to even get somewhat close to Messi, who already has a good case to be regarded as the best ever IMO.

What Chelsea beat Barca!!

They are no means done, just an off season for them but they are still the best team in Europe. No they are not my team if that is what you are thinking and it is great to see them gone.

Neymar seems a bit skinny for the Euro leagues.

I think Barca have really missed David Villa this season with his broken leg. When you look at their team they actually don't have a single out and out striker except Villa. He is the one that you could count on to finish at least one of those many chances they created last night and in the game at Stamford Bridge.

Also they really do look jaded and worn out, its hard to have the consntant hunger when you win all the time. I have never seen more determined defending than Chelsea last night, Drogba spent most of the game at right back for crying out loud!

And how much of a twat is John Terry hahaha

What a game. Barca had plenty of chances to score and move on. It just wasn't their night. Its hard to win everything, every year. Those guys haven't had much of a break or a chance to rest. Everyone plays their hardest against Barca. It was a great run of success. No one can win all the time. Give Jose Maurinho credit for the job he did at Real. Barcas magic finally ran out. It was an amazing run and maybe the best team football I have ever seen. I think they are a bit tired and need a little break. Its hard to stay on top forever. They will likely be back with a vengeance next season.

Now, time for Real-Bayern.

It lunchtime here in San Francisco but I think its almost 7 or 8 at night in Europe. Enjoy the match brothers and have a great evening. I love the Champions League.

I don't believe in "dynasties" relating to football too much.

Manchester United made 3 CL finals in 5 years, same as Barca. But Barca won 2 of those. Sometimes it's just simple luck of the draw. The Rijkaard team with Ronaldo also dominated for a few years, at least domestically.

Pep would be foolish to quit just because his team had a string of bad luck. And to write Barca off just because they didn't win anything for 1 year (but still dominating) would be a bit far fetched.

Well now that Guardiola is gone we will have to see what's going to happen with Tito Vilanova

I just hope it's not over for them, Real Madrid has a really good team and they have invested a lot of money to compete with Barcelona. But still I prefer watching Barcelona and Messi rather than Real madrid and Cr7 faggot

The Barca v Chelsea match will go down as one of the most epic CL games ever. I've never seen a match that had so much happening in it. Di Matteo pulled off a master stroke again by conceding total possession to Barcelona ( I think they had 85% possession!! ) and hoping to hit them on the break which Chelsea managed to do. I'm a member at Chelsea but haven't been to enough games this year to get my points up for a final ticket. Still deciding whether or not to go out for the final just to soak up the atmosphere and maybe get a ticket off a tout but flights are 400GBP for a day return which is a piss take and touts will be asking for thousands. I was in the Luzhniki in 08 to see Manure beat us on pens and I'm not sure I could stomach another loss which considering we are 4 players down,3 of them vital,is the probable outcome on their home ground. Still,epic end to the season especially with the FA cup final against the bin dippers coming up too.
