TV's Alpha Males
This thread is similar to Parlay's Beta male thread here

Rules are the character has to be from a tv show and you have to attach a picture.

I'll start it off with my favourite,

Tony Soprano

This guy has been my idol since I first started watching the sopranos as a kid.
He's a classic alpha. Doesn't take shit from anyone, makes bank, doesn't respect authority or the law, is built like a brick shithouse, drinks, gambles, uses force and violence to get what he wants and has mistresses on the side.
I also like that he doesn't do drugs.
I downloaded all six seasons and watched every episode in order. Awesome Show!

Speak for yourself.

My dad is pretty much the Turkish Tony Soprano.

Don Draper from "Mad Men"

The reigning champ of TV alphas. Reinvented his life, taking on the identity of his killed commanding officer in the Korean War. Rises to become a high-level ad executive. Serial womanizer, now married to his much younger French-Canadian former secretary.

Alan Shore from "Boston Legal"

A highly eloquent and brilliant attorney. Extremely sexual aggressive and almost always gets want he wants. Unfortunately, the writers exposed some beta tendencies in the later season.

I think they should cast Alan Shore as Ben Franklin in a movie about Franklin's sexual escapades.

Stefan Urquelle was alpha.

Captain Kirk.

Clay and Jax on Sons of Anarchy. Although Jax is getting more and more beta. I can't wait for Season 5. My #1 favorite show at the moment.

I couldn't stand that show. Half the scenes are like soap opera. Saw an episode of the show The Unit. Same deal. If you cut out the action scenes, these shows are Oxygen Network material. Women viewers want to get wet over murderers and killers, but also want that sappy emotional dreck mixed in too.

I would say 95 percent of goons have to do some kind of time. Breaking skulls IS out of the question as a regular behaviour.

Gus from Breaking Bad. Pretty fucking alpha. Hank and Jesse are also pretty alpha. None of them care about other people's opinions of their actions and don't hesitate to resort to violence when necessary.

Walter White is pretty alpha in some senses but he took too much shit from his wife so he gets knocked down a little bit.

Steve Buschemi is pretty alpha in Boardwalk Empire, which is pretty surprising, because his look is not at all congruent with 'Hollywood alpha'. I had a hard time buying it at first but I think he came in to the role.

My thoughts exactly on Steve buschemi.
I wasn't buying it at first just because he was so goddamn skinny but he played it well.

"Breaking Bad" is the best shit on TV. Walter White starts out as a classic beta, but when he finds out he is terminally ill he starts the process of becoming alpha, and becomes more so the longer the show goes on.

Skyler epitomizes everything the American woman is. She even gets fatter as the show progresses.

I don't get the Barney thing. His character is written to get a lot of play, but his personality doesn't really match. He's basically a gay male/female caricature of what a player is.

Of course, maybe I'm just anti-How I Met Your Mother. I find that show painful to watch. It's bro-humor.
