Mexico City was great. I was only there for 12 hours, but it seemed like the place to be.
It's huge, big subway, very in your face market district, hard to find a bar, the girls had bad teeth, too much makeup, but nice asses.

I've been to Guatemala and one of my best friends is Guatemalan. He's real rich so we were in a weird community of rich beautiful guatemaltecos. But the city was fun once we got where we were going and we might have hit a whore house motel thing that was amazing. I didn't pay so I have no idea what it cost.

Guatemala is truly in the third world. I did see pickup trucks with guerrilla looking guys, AK47s and shit. We went for a ride to the jungle one day to jump off a waterfall and go swimming and I got to see a good amount of the country. I'm really interested to hear how a WHOLE month in that crazy place would go.

I went to GUA some 12 years ago, argentinian A.N.I.M.A.L. was to play on the Bull's Arena in GUA city and I came as a last minute guitar replacement for a friend's band
Anyway, I saw little of the city, did hang into clubs with the bands that were quite well filled with blonds.
Just because there is a sizeable german community in the über high class of Guatemala, so if you go to the real upper class, you'll be meeting hooties.
Weather is cool and nice most of the year.

But it is dangerous, no question about it, i remember one noon, we arrived to our hotel and the staff there were still shocked, because just 5 minutes before we arrived, there was an assault and robbery there (weren't we lucky!!)
It is one of those places where you better not walk much, unless you look like a poor backpacker.

Arrived in Mexico City about 18 hours ago. I'll give some basic info during the week and then drop a datasheet when I return.

Let's just say that it's hard to get settled in short order unless your Spanish is pretty good; mine is intermediate.

Cab drivers will try to rip you off just like any other big city but they also aren't familiar with the location of hostels , so make sure you know the conversation rate for dollars (1 USD = 13.3 MXN) and have the exact address written down of where you need to go.

Hit up CS hard a few weeks before you leave, and have a few cute chicas waiting to show you around the city.

As for hostels, there are dozens. Hit up hostelworld and check the reviews. I could only find a few that had space yesterday, so I ended up away from the action just for the night. I stayed at Hostal Centro Regina, which is pretty nice for $13 USD a night.

I've been told that the best nightlife is in the Zona Rosa and La Condesa. Polanco is suppposedly good as well, but very ritzy and expensive. Roma and Reforma may be good as well.

Hit Condesa.

Zona Rosa at night is full of scammers and people trying to sell you something or get you to go somewhere. There are a few bars and nightclubs, but the quality is sub-par, so why bother?

You're absolutely correct. As a casual traveler or a backpacker, your odds are extremely low as opposed to say a mugging, etc.

I spent a decent amount of time there.

Zona Rosa is OK, there are some decent (multicultural) eats around there, but yeah its where the husslers come in to prey on tourists in the evening. There is actually a few really good hotels in the area around the US embassy. They have gardens and are walled in with ground floor room access. Good prices too. There are a bunch of nightclubs there, but I would just take a taxi there when you want to go, and kick it at some cooler spots in.......

Condesa or Roma. More of a bohemian vibe but the cafes are full of interesting people from all over the Spanish speaking world. I met a lot of Argentines in the Parque Espana area. Also really good food. Had a slab of beef and bottle of wine for under $30 in a pretty dope spot. WARNING: It gets quiet here at night, so stick to the main roads and USE SITIO taxi stands (of course).

I liked the Polanco area. I spent most of my nights out here. Yes it can be expensive in relation to other places in Mexico (I find gringos get real cheap when they hit Mexico) but keep in mind what you get.

Rooftop bars on colonial hotels, mansions converted into restaurants, happy hour traffic from all the embassies, fresas shopping and relaxing.

There is something for everyone there. The city is cool as shit and in my list of top cities. It gets a bad wrap and for sure it can be bad ass, but Chilangos are some of the nicest people you will meet in Mexico, let alone a big city.

My advice is to see the history around the Zocalo and centro historica then get out. The longer you stay in this area, the sooner you will fall victim and are relieved of your cash and merch.

I was at a Salsa Congress last weekend and met some hot babes that drove to Houston from Mexico for the Congress. The same thing happened last year in Austin. My friend that lives in Houston has babes from Mexico come to Houston on a regular basis to get banged. I'm not crazy about going to Mexico outside the tourist zones, but would be game to hit up babes that are willing to cross the border. I guess I need some better intel on Mexico b4 I'd be ready to go over.

Spent the day checking out the Centro Historico and went with a friend and a few girls to Coyoacan. The market there is pretty nice and the tostadas are supposedly some of the best in the country. They were very good. Checked out of Central Regina this morning and they held my bags. Chillin now in the cafe/restaurant/bar inside the hostel. Looking to find another hostel tonight near Condesa. Any recommendations?

The line up can start to get big between 11pm-12am
The one thing I did to skip the line was that I walked up to the front and told the bouncer in English that I was meeting a group of friends inside and he let me in. Hope it works for you.

I also went to a couple Mescal bars in the area that I can't remember the names of, good for pre-gaming.

Polanco/Interlomas/Santa Fe is the business fresa district, trendy with great hotels.
Zona Rosa is gay, multicultural, diverse.
San Ángel is a good option to party in the south of Mexico City

Stay close to Reforma and you're settled.

Joy: good discotec if you are above 30
Ragga: great discotec but pretty young - girls are between 16 and 22. Great party, great danceflooor, lots of sets but well... pretty young!

Cat Walk (Condesa):
great but a little bit empty (fr night, july)

M (Condesa)
totally empty and expensive (fr july)

Fiebre (condesa):
average club with 200$ entre if you don´t find any of the street marketers for the club. half full on weekends (july)

don quintin (polanco):
great club if you want to have live music and are with friends. not the best PU place if you are not extremly advanced. Mixed groups but if you want to get to know a solid 8/9 this could be your place. Bad place for going out alone.

don quintin (condesa):
good place if you checked out another club and you want to enter anywhere at 3PM. Drunken girls, mostly 6es and 7s, if you are lucky you find one set of 8s. live music on weekends, good show, a tiny bit alternative, good if you want to get totally drunk i guess. I didn´t see any similarity in people between the don quintin in polanco and the one in condesa.

Barezzitto (bosques): Pregame bar expensive, 8-9s

Sens (Bosques): Best and most expensive place in town.

Walther (Condesa): The inn place, a little bit alternative.

AM/PM (Condesa): Younger.

Pata Negra (Condesa): 5-6s but if you can't get a girl here you cannot get a girl anywhere.

Montés (Roma): Alternative, good music, good girls.

Classico del mar (Condesa): Top 40 and popular mexican music. Not as exspensive as other placer. Girls all over the place (4-9)

Friday/Saturday all are good.

For today, if you want to spend and see the best girls go to Sens but it is really an expensive and difficult place to get girls but with the best talent.

If you want something more relax more bar than club try Pata Negra (the 2nd floor), no cover and there's always party in there.

Well... the problem is: I saw major problems in logistics in mexico city.

Things like: not finding a cab, rain, girls are driver, living far away, cookblocking cousins and brother.

So my plan was to stay closer to my home (Condesa). Also driving half an hour and standing in front of an empty club is pretty sad.

Yesterday i went to club rhodesia and i saw a really really long queue - no chance to enter (didn´t see that in mexico before). So i went to Montes, but it was closing (and looked more like a random bar to me). After that i checked out the clubs in nuevo leon, but all empty. So i went to Pata Negra and well, hottest girls in the club were a few 5,5/6s.

So a whole outgoing day without a single approach and running 90 minutes through the streets.

Walther -> I didn´t find it online.
I will check out classico on this weekend.

Was flippin through my lonely planet mexico and it said that a sign with the word "garage" means a love hotel in Mexico City. I was thinking "can it really be that liberal there?"

No prob bro sorry for the late responses, I am living with out internet so I have been bad about getting on the forum. So the thing about Mexico City (DF) is that it is so freakin big and it has some of the most open minded chicks in Mexico (lots can be pretty traditional) maybe Monterrey is the only other city that is more open. I was in Zona Rosa, which is actually the gay district, but it has a lot of fun clubs, a lot of activity, and a lot of young people. I was only there for a week and thats the only place I really went out so I could not tell you about other parts, but I recomend Zona Rosa. Its pretty time consuming going around the whole city, I had to bus it and traffic is horrible, so I would hit parts of the city during the day and go out in Rosa. Heads up, when I say its the gay district, I mean its the gay district. I would walk around with girls (that I would pick up in bars/clubs around the area) and we would be the weird ones cause usually the 'couples' are 2 dudes. Not a big deal but I did get hit on a lot. I would usually take the girls (or have them take me, "show me another place around here, show me your city" type of thing) to 2 more bars/clubs that night, then just go back to your hotel room if your feelin the vibe. Btw, I never tell them where we are going, I just go to an OXXO or something, pick up some alcohol, and literally go straight back to the room with out asking her where she wanted to go or telling that was what we were doing.

(I just went out to Zona Rosa on a wednesday night. Almost no single girls at all, Condesa had much more. They are only a 15-20 minute WALK apart- Kavakid).

Day game at the university:

UNAM is on the southside of DF. Its enormous. There are other colleges in the city of course, some might be better.

During the week there is a steady stream of people from the morning until about 10PM. The darker it gets the more skittish the girls get about being approached. I ran around asking for an english book store and ended up with a ton of FB's. The girls are pretty shy. Doesn't seem like a party school. But some of them were excited to talk to me.

To get there take the Metro Train to the Copilco station on the brown line. Takes about 20 minutes from downtown. 30 if you need to switch lines.

From the station head southwest towards the campus. there are tons of cafes and literally endless girls to approach.

I was told that friday night is the big drinking night there, but I haven't been yet. There is also a hostel nearby called El Cenote Azul with beds for 150 pesos.

I am not sure UNAM is a good spot for quick swooping, but if you are in town for a week or two it could yield something.

I was also told that Garibaldi square in downtown has good nightlife/girls. I am heading there tonight but I am told its a little dangerous.
