I mentioned to a girl I met up with this weekend for the second time that I liked to escalate quickly.

She said later in her dorm room that I was a "red piller" because I had used the word escalate.

I think I mentioned it in another place, but I was talking to a long term friend of mine. He has a Polish wife and I always tell her that I'm going on vacation with her family just so I can meet her cousins and flirt with Polish girls. My friend said, "oh, like Roosh." Turns out he isn't a member here, but enjoys reading it. Who knows, maybe he is an Eskimo brother with Roosh himself?

I was at a tech meetup a month or two ago and got to talking to one guy. I asked about his background and he sheepishly admitted he used to be a dating coach. So I said "yeah, like Mystery?" and he said yeah. We didn't talk much in specifics. I thought about asking him if he kept up on any of this stuff but he made a few comments about being in a relationship and finding the PUA life so empty. Though recently I've realized there are a lot more married and LTR guys on here than I initially thought. I'll have to see if he shows up at another meetup and ask then.

I have met a few of you guys out there but a personal level i'll never admit it. It's not because i'm a pussy but because unless you want your name out there there's a lot that can go sideways especially if you have a business.

I've heard someone use the term 'flagging' in conversation once before. That's about it, and I bring up the topic of chasing girls with guys I meet often (girls are my No.1 interest after all).

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of girls read this forum. It basically represents a no-holds-barred open and public conversation between men, where they freely discuss their desires, intents, preferences, grievances, experiences, and tactics. If I were a girl I'd read it too.

I've had the reverse happen to me. Twice now I've read other RVF members sharing an anecdote about a wingman of there's, and realized I personally know the same exact person they're talking about. It's a small world.

I've been wondering about this a lot lately--I have ties all over the U.S. and travel to meet up with my buddies a good deal. The past couple of years, it sure seems like a good number of my buddies and I get to talking about forum-type issues (mostly game-related stuff), and use the language, but never "go all the way" () to talk about the forum.

I blame higher education--after going through a couple of indoctrination centers, we're taught to have that doubt in the back of our mind, that what would usually be totally normal, healthy male thoughts are some how "subversive," "evil," and "rapey." A buddy of mine may SEEM cool, but what if he's a closet white night? What kind of fresh hell could I invite on myself by opening up about the forum?

I mean, obviously this raises some questions about the true nature of my friends. As well as exposes some latent insecurities and the numerous ways higher ed has messed with my head.

The meetups are a good start. More to the point of this thread, if we could turn more lurkers into contributing members, I think the forum (and "movement," to the extent it exists) would be all the better for it.

In some ways, we need an identifier. Just a casual term that we can drop in conversation to open up the discussion to more "red pill" ideas. Maybe it wouldn't work here (or on ROK or Roosh's blog) because they're public forums. Then again, part of me says let's just get it out there, let the feminists and pussies type articles and bitch about it, and claim it as our own. While there may be the enterprising-enough white knight or troll lurker to keep a straight face for a short while after mentioning it, I trust the forum membership to weed those out in short order.

Potential identifiers include:

Oil Sands (except for the guys actually working in the oil sands, since that could get confusing)

Is This Beta?

Secret Internet Fatties (Buddy of mine mentioned this recently independently, but still wasn't sure if he was a forum lurker/member or not, so didn't press it)

I trust the membership to come up with others, but I do think this would be a valuable addition to our "arsenal" at this point. Even if you suspect you have buddies who are lurking the forum and who aren't you can use it as an opener to discuss some of the stuff on here. I've found referring single/looking to cheat guys to travel threads on here to be a good, "old man slipping into a warm bath" method to expose like-minded guys to the forum.

Just a thought. I don't know--maybe I'm nuts. Eager to get your guys' thoughts.

Yes. Yesterday I was at a cookie shop with a friend here on campus and I overheard a guy talking to two chicks inside the shop. He was spitting some of the opinion openers from Neil Strauss "The Game" and ended up getting their numbers. I asked him later if he knows RVF by any chance, and he said no, but he reads a lot of game material. I gave him our site to join. Hope he does.
