I tried cold showers for awhile, didn't really notice much of a benefit. Maybe the water wasn't cold enough.

Cold water is better for your skin than warm water. I've never washed my face with hot or warm water for this reason. When I shave, I use warm water to soften the hairs and to shave, but finish with cold water and some ice.

I'm gonna try cold showers out. If not for waking you up and giving you a bit of energy, boosting your immune system is always good.

I've been doing cold showers for about a month now. They're awesome. I put on some heavy metal or Skrillex to get myself psyched to do it. I shower for at least 5 minutes. Afterwards I feel amazing. I'm pumped for the day. Can't go back to normal showers.

I'm already a few days in. I'm on a island in Thailand where I only have access to cold water.
Oh well, doesn't matter. It's a great refreshener from the constant humid heat.

But the first seconds sucks. My body goes into some kind of a shock and and I start to breathe fast and heavily for 10 seconds before I get used to the cold water.

Feel awesome afterwards.

I've been showering cold for 10 months now. At the beginning it was brutal but you get used to it quickly. Never got a cold ever since.

A couple of days into doing it properly again. It's winter here and that water is nice and cold.
Tip: if you don't do it for 3-5 minutes until you feel your body get accustomed to it, you're not getting the full benefit. And to be honest I don't feel that normal cold water temperature in summer or tropical climates is cold enough, but there's not much you can do about that.

Day 1.
Overcoming the initial bout of dread, my immediate though upon turning on the water was "Oh dear god!"
Took a minute or so to acclimate, but then proceeded as normal.
Seemed a lot worse when my head was under the water.
I had this strange sensation of pain in my ears afterwards, but it passed with a cup of coffee.
I can't say I felt a massive surge of energy, but it was kind of empowering, and nice to not have the bathroom steamed up.

Took two yesterday. When I first jump in the cold water its pretty intense. I find myself exhaling all loud and long and shaking my body around like I am Micheal J Fox. Then I get adjusted and go on about my normal shower routine.

I find it extremely hard to take a cold shower first thing in the morning when I just wake up. I don't mind taking them when I have been up for at least 30 minutes or just coming back from my morning Basketball session but other than that it's rough. I'll do a thirty day challenge.

I notice it takes some mental prepping to hop in the shower nowadays since I've started taking cold showers. The first 30 seconds suck ass. Once you get past that, it's like you hopped in the pool or the ocean. It will really wake you up.

Any day now they'll be shutting off my hot water here in Moscow. The cold water here is COLD. Not looking forward to forced cold showers...especially when we're wearing coats in June.

Can't begin to mention how good this feels once the initial shock wears off.

My muscles aren't as sore post-workout and my boners are rock hard.

I'm trying it now. It feels very good and yes, the boners excel.

Come the winter, perhaps the trick will be to wake up and immediately turn on a mini-heater in the shower room, so that that room is toasty by the time that you get around to taking a shower. In the meantime, pushups and sit-ups, etc.

Yeah copy that. The cold water in Russia during summertime is not only cold, it's fucking icecold! If you can handle that you can handle pretty much anything. It almost feels like the water is close to freezing point.

My showers has never been so fast like in Russia last summmer.
