Any recommendations where to visit that time based on holiday practices of europeans, etc. Wondering if someone may have specific intel of particular festivals etc going on.

Many European capitals clear out of locals in July and August.

Conversely, the beach destinations, Algarve, the Spanish Costas, Greek Islands, Ibiza etc. are absoulutely jam packed. Most Europeans book their summer holidays well in advance.
