Here's a tweet I came across that encapsulates the female attitude these days.

Yeah. Every romance is about a guy who has fucked tons of hot bitches, or at least could if he wanted to. But then he settles down with one woman. And every woman watches that, imagining SHE is the one he settles for. This sounds very crude and all, but that describes probably 100% of all romance stories. Chicks have always entertained this delusion, but when society forces them to be celibate until marriage, and then fuck only their husband, they don't have much room to act on it, i.e. they can't try to bang the prince in the hopes of marrying him. Now they can bang the prince, and bang, and bang... until the prince dumps her, and she finds a new one.

Not having a father makes it worse probably. But I think the real reason is a lack of monogamy, i.e. more single dudes running around. The more single guys there are, the more girls can fuck one guy who's fucking multiple girls. Back in the day, even if you were married and cheating, it was harder and rarer to pull off banging several different girls. The change may have started thirty, forty years ago, but it takes some time for society to fully respond.
