DSK Charged in France with "Aggravated Pimping"
Quote: Former International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn was charged in France on Monday with "aggravated pimping" for his alleged participation in a prostitution ring, prosecutors said.
He is not allowed to have contact with other people involved in the investigation, nor is he permitted to talk to the media about the case. Strauss-Kahn was released under a 100,000-euro bail, according to prosecutors.
Earlier in the day, he was questioned by a judge about his alleged involvement in the ring. The meeting was initially scheduled for Wednesday.
A spokesperson for the judge told CNN it was the judge's decision to change the date, but did not say why the decision was made.
The charge alleges involvement in the habitual operation of a prostitution racket. Specifically, "aggravated' means on a regular and involved basis, and "pimping" means actually facilitating a prostitution operation, not just being a customer.
Last month, Strauss-Kahn was held for more than 24 hours by police in Lille and questioned about his alleged involvement in the prostitution ring.

He said that basically he is a man that cannot say no to women, and that gets him in trouble, even while insisting that he didn't rape the maid. That's a pretty damning statement, in that it alludes to the fact that he's his own worst enemy. "They" aren't trying to destroy him. He's self-destructive. There's too much sexual smoke around this guy for there not to be an actual fire in there somewhere. He needs to learn to keep his hands, lips, dick, etc. to himself.
What?
So polititcians are only supposed to fuck their wives? Explain how that relates to policy again?
Oh, don't tell me - it shows "character" and "morality" flaws. Is that the logic?
I don't give a damn about character and morality - I want policy. Let the man do whatever he wants with his personal money and his personal cock.

I never made any such statement. I merely highlighted something his own lawyer said publicly about him, in essence cutting his throat. I'm not naive about public/powerful people. I just think DSK in particular is extremely sloppy. Dude has his hands on pretty much every woman that he ends up in a room alone with. Men like him still have to have the appearance of having some type of character, and at least keep the skeletons buried until AFTER you're out of office. You can't have them come out BEFORE you've won. With all of the fucking that Clinton did, no one claimed that he committed a crime. Spitzer was banging call girls while as Attorney General he was going after these types of operations. Sloppy. In the annals of cheating politicians, DSK is on a different level! Berlusconi might be right there with him with regards to level of sloppiness.

The closest you will get to the Godfather in a western country. He is in the top 10 richest and most powerful men in the world. The Ultimate Alpha. If only he were to open his big fat wallet on his Milan football team like he used to in the past, I would tolerate him again...
Yes, this is why Silvio got away with it for so long. The ultimate charming cad. But once he was accused of criminality, even he knew he couldn't survive that. It only has to be an accusation, and if it is within the realm of possibility (and what he was accused of was within the realm of possibility for him) you can be tainted enough to weaken you. At some point, enough enemies have accumulated, and the public sentiment swings enough against you to break you. Having TOO MUCH power also gets you eventually. Men in this position need to have something that will make people overlook an occasional accused daliance. Clinton had that - accomplishments he could point at and say, "yeah, I fucked up, but look at what I've DONE." DSK hadn't even officially thrown his hat in the ring in France, and he already had a couple of investigations in France, then the thing in NY. He couldn't point to his work at the IMF, because I don't think the average person even knows what the IMF does, or what his job entails. You need to have something significant under your belt, so if you mess up, or someone accuses you of messing up, you can fight back with something significant. Folks are quick to forgive, if not approve of, a little something you may have done if they feel their interests are being served.
