There is a great deal of misinformation here on ethnic Lithuanians. I am half Lithuanian, so let me help. The four main peoples of Northern Europe are Germanic, Ugro-Finnish, Slavic, and the Balts. Ethnic Lithuanians (and some Latvians) come from the tribe of the Balts. In fact, the fastest way to get into an argument with Lithuanians is to refer to them as Slavic. German enclaves traditionally existed to the north (Livonia, now Latvia) and to the south (Koenigsberg, now Russian Kaliningrad) with the Balts in between (Lithuania).

At one time, Lithuania was the largest nation in Europe and stretched from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea and approached within seventy miles of Moscow. As a result, Lithuanians are almost universally proud of their heritage -- followed by basketball and the beauty of their women. Roosh is spot on regarding personality: slightly restrained, reserved, and cool at first, but they warm right up (especially after a few drinks).

Kaunas is the old capital of Lithuania stemming from the occupation of Vilnius. It is far more ethnically Lithuanian than Vilnius. The people of the two cities have a very healthy rivalry that some people may see as an active dislike. Kaunas is more homogenous, while Vilnius is more cosmopolitan and has a considerable population of Polish, Russian, and international residents.

Tail Gunner, you are using outdated data. I was in Vilnius couple years back and one has to look quite hard to find Russian and especially Polish speaking residents...many of them have learned Lithuanian and are slowly assimilating. Compared to Latvia and Estonia Lithuania is very homogenous, even the capital!

Personally I am in position to determine if a city has potential or not just 1-2 hours after arrival.You get a guy feeling by observing some things.
Indicators that a place is good in FSU:
1.Lots of Lada cars(it means low average income)
2.Old centre and not stalinist architecture centre(it means European influence)
3.Provocatively dressed girls(it means in search)
4.Lack of any shopping centre or mall in the centre
5.Trimmed pavements,neglected roads,buildings in collapse,general decadence.No construction going on or abandoned buildings.

Brian, you're forgetting that a fat body can be changed whereas an ugly face can't (unless one resorts to plastic surgery which I'm not a fan off).
Nevertheless, if you like tall, thin women then the Baltic's are the place for you. My favorite beach town there, Palanga floods with them come June. Here's a sample pic of what you can expect (i didn't take my pic but these 2 chicks would be considered average)

Greek, those are some good indicators although the first indicator about Lada or Volga cars being present I am sorry to say you will not find anywhere in the Baltics. Those cars are about as "easy" to find there now as a 1960's Cadillac in America.

The most important indicator IMHO is #3, and any beach town in the Baltics will offer plenty of that, especially Palanga that I just mentioned.

Ladas are reliable indicators basically in Ukraine,Belarus and,Russia.I remember when 90% of cars in the street were Ladas and Volgas it used to be heaven.The more Ladas the better.I feel relieved any time I see a mass amount of them.
The same,was the Fiat Polski era in Poland and the communist Skoda era in Czech Republic.Unforgettable periods.A different world altogether.

Man, I don't know. I spent a few days in Palanga last year and besides the weekends, there's not much high quality stuff to do. The girls that go to that new huge club (I think it's called Exit) are quite good looking (as anywhere in LT) but the English speaking % is definitely not as high as in VNO

Partly reason of this is because (from what my LT friends have told me) that most girls who can afford it, go out of the country and not to vacation in Palanga. So anyone with a good education or higher social standing, which are also the hottest girls most of the time, will be out of country.

I did enjoy my time there, but 5 days was too long. It got boring after saturday evening and the only thing to do in Palanga was to hit up this shitty wild west bar. Although yes, there were barely any foreigners and having Lithuanian friends definitely set me apart.

I stayed in Kaunas for past 1 week. July is a bad time as the weather was bad and the city was pretty empty. I did some daygame in Akropolis but only managed one facebook close on my last day there. I didn't see many single girls out there as the students were out of town.

But based on Roosh post, the way the girls dress have changed. Not many girls with long hair(to hips) and lots of hipster styled clothing. Lithuania has become quite westernized but I got warm receptions from most of the girls I approached. Maybe because I was a foreigner.

But I would surely visit the city again, but not during summer. Hope to do better in Vilnius.

Never been to Romania (going to Bucharest in 2 weeks) but Ukraine beats any Baltic country in looks department. Average is higher, and there are more stunners.
I did like Kaunas though. I might visit it for few days beginning of September, as there must be student parties due to beginning of studies.

Just saw your post. Vilnius was great for me . I snapped up 2 instant dates in my 1 week there although both with foreign girls. The are more girls then guys there. Hence, the girls are very receptive to foreigners but only if you stay long enough to form a relationship with them.
