Apparently I'm just getting to the point in my life where girls from my past who never settled down, or who are divorced now, are starting to try to rekindle old flames. It's funny and sad and awkward as hell.

One is making a hard bid lately, this being a girl I never hooked up with, though she knew I was interested for years. The only times I had girls come on this hard in my life was when I was in the army, and they were trying to trick me into impregnating them. It feels cheap. I'm ignoring her, because I can't think of a nice way to say "Yeah, I was into you when you were 18 years old and hot, but the years and the pounds since really don't do it for me. Do you have a much younger sister I never met?"

Since back then I considered it a cold streak if I was only banging one girl regularly, I'm not one of those bitter guys who never got the time of day from a girl in school who takes pleasure in their pain as they slam into the wall. I mostly just want them to go away.

I guess this belongs in the online girl thread because these are women I haven't seen in person in well over a decade. It takes some serious hamster to think just because I had a bad crush on a girl in high school that I'd be interested now. My SMV has gone way up since then, and I have a never-banged-a-girl-over-22 streak to keep up here. Get real, ladies.

Facebook tells me other guys my age have been falling for this shit, though. One guy who was kinda part of my circle of friends in HS just got together with a girl he has been orbiting for about fifteen years. He's all happy and people are saying how lucky he is on facebook. Once again, I'm convinced the reason men and women can't click anymore is because suburban parents raise their daughters as sons. There is something that's just an innate turnoff about seeing a "fierce" girl "kick ass" on a soccer field.

No sane teenage boy has posters of women in athletic gear on his wall. And no woman who wants to be with a guy should ever describe herself as "fierce" or "badass."

I've read many thousands of women's online dating profiles over a span of almost 15 years.

The one common theme I've seen is that of projection. It works something like this:

1. Woman desires a strong and independent man.

2. Woman then projects that men desire a strong and independent woman.

3. Woman writes her online dating profile and describes herself as strong and independent.

4. Man reads that many women describe themselves as strong and independent.

5. Man writes in his online dating profile that he seeks a strong and independent woman.

6. Neither man nor woman is happy with the online dating process.

7. Repeat steps 1 through 6 until woman acquires cats and man learns PUA.

Personally I don't want a woman that doesn't have money, doesn't exercise and isn't independent. Most guys that get raped by the legal system in a divorce have women that don't have money, don't exercise and aren't independent. I've discussed this with my friends. This right here is the problem with dating in Western society as it stands.

Let's say you're working on a 10 point scale. The average guy should have a masculinity score of 7 and women shouldn't be masculine at all- but on average they can be about 3-4. There should always be a 3 point disparity between on how masculine and how feminine the girl is in order for a couple to work together as couple. Unfortunately now men are being feminized and women are becoming more masculine throwing the ratios and points out of whack. Now the average guy is about 5-6 and the woman is now 4-5.

I know you can sometimes say, "Well I see happy couples all the time", but the more I think about it- is it me or am I seeing more relationships that look less like happy couples but more like happy siblings?
Point is: Femininity/Masculinity disparity is what makes couples work.
