RE: What Are Your Wildest Travel Experiences?
I don't even recall having much of a boner. I had one for sure but nothing crazy, it was all over shadowed by the rapid heart beat, banging headaches, jitteryness, anxiety and other nasty effects. I don't recall it being a non stop boner for days or anything.
Quote:200mg is an insane amount of viagra, start with 20mg first if you are a young dude. At least thats whats i heard, never tried viagra, i think its for old dudes. I did some 10mg cialis, that will work for 2 days.
How can you not find a decent love hotel in Rio ? they are everywhere. I went to one close to a favela and paid 80 relais/35 dolla. It was a luxury room with sauna and everything.
Yeah a quarter of a pill works for me I've now found. I don't need it but after far too much to drink it can turn a lackluster fuck into an epic one so worth to have around IMO.
It was during Carnival, everywhere was full. We spent 2hrs looking for one and only found this one in Centro in the end, as you know not a good area to be in at night. There were no saunas in this place, a basic and very dirty bed, a disgusting bathroom and insects everywhere.

Back in '04-06 I used to walk/drive the streets of Baghdad looking for IED's. When the unit pussed out I'd step out of the vehicle and proof that shit. You only live once. Make it count.

RE: What Are Your Wildest Travel Experiences?
From my blog
Kazakhstan - Train ride from Almaty to Irkutsk
The train ride back to Russia and further to Irkutsk was a ride from hell. Let me start on the first 35 hour ride to the Russian city Novosibirsk. Getting the train ticket was a piece of cake this time, the woman behind the counter didn’t ask for any migration papers and didn’t even make a problem when I bought a ticket for a train ride after my visa ended. I did this because I didn’t want to arrive in a major Russian city at 3 in the morning which is definitely not save. So I bought a ticket for a train later that arrived at 10 in the morning. The ticket purchase went super fast because I got help from a lady waiting in line. After I had the ticket she tried to convince me to join a church and gave me a full jesus freak preach. Eh No thanks I don't believe in fairy tales.
After buying the ticket I went back to my room to pack my bag and buy some food for on the train. I said goodbye to the old Russian lady and went to the station. I thought I was smart to get some money for bribing the railway police so I took about 150 dollars worth of Kazakh Tenge out of the ATM. I got on the train and after a while I was checked by railway police at some station. They found out my visa was expired ( just a few hours and were making problems. I started to negotiate a bribe by writing numbers on my translation book, they didn’t speak any English. At one point they agreed on 20 dollars but they told me as far I could understand that I couldn’t leave the country like this. I said I was going to the border anyway. Suddenly they didn’t want the bribe anymore and let me go. I was happy not to pay a dime to those hicks not knowing what a surprise would follow at the border.
Once again the train was filled with all kinds of characters. No good looking single women that was for sure. A few 100 kilometer before the border the whole train wagon came alive. I already noticed that a few people has piles of enormous bags with them. They started to unpack those bags and out cam e the t-shirts,jeans and dresses. Others had massive amounts of alcohol with them. Vodka, whiskey and wine.
The train conductor was the great leader in all this and he tried to stash 4 bottles of whiskey in my bag. I told him no way. Let him do his own smuggling. All the mattresses were lifted and got a pile of jeans under them. All the pillowcases were filled with t-shirts and dresses, this whole process took about an hour. When we finally reached the Kazakh/Russian border, the train got raided by customs soldiers, they started checking all the passports. I remembered that the officer wanted dollars instead of their currency. I reached in my bag and looked for my hidden pocket. Normally I would wear the money belt under my clothes but in Almaty it was so hot that I left it in my bag a few times. Wearing a money belt at 40 degrees is not pleasant for your nuts, you sweat allday down there.
I found my money belt but the money was gone. I suspected that the grandson of the old Russian lady of whom i rented a 4 dollar from took it. He was a scumbag always asking me for small change and cigarettes. I heard him often yell at the old lady. Just before I went on the train I bought some groceries for the long rain rife and didn’t pay attention to my bag. This was probably the moment the bastard stole my money. Luckely for him I didn’t check before I left because I’m not the forgiving type or the average schoolboy backpacker. I would of beat the living daylights out of him right in his own house. I’ve been my own judge a couple of times before.
Anyway the money was gone and I couldn’t do a damn thing about it. The customs officer looked at my passport and saw that my visa was expired. He told me to go outside of the train. At the moment I walked out there were a few soldiers around me. One had a big German Sheppard dog who was nearly biting me and another soldier who sticking his AK-47 in my back. The soldier with the gun pushed me in front of him towards a small office. I had to walk past the train and literally everyone was watching me. The train nearly fell to its side because everyone was looking through the windows. Inside the office I was questioned why I overstayed my visa. They wanted to know everything, they told me they had to send me back to Almaty to get another visa. Sounds ridiculous right ? Take a 30 hour train ride back to Almaty and get a 100 dollar visa for one day. Well, they were dead serious about it. This went on for half an hour, 4 people were constantly asking me difficult questions, making phone calls and faxing my picture around. At one moment an officer from the Russian side of the border walked in, He had a lot of stripes on his shoulder and a massive hat, It looked impressive. He spoke reasonable English. He wanted me to explain the situation and asked me where I was from and I answered him Holland. There appeared a big smile on his face and he got all enthusiastic. Apparently he was a major football fan and he said that the Russian football team had a Dutch coach named Guus Hiddink ( this was 2009 ). Guus Hiddink had some good success with the Russian team something that didn’t happen for years. He is one of the best football coaches in the world and the one responsible for South Korea's success in 2002. I joined his enthusiasm and kept him talking about football. He began talking to the Kazakhs and apparently convinced them to let me go because that’s what they did. I had to fill in some documents and that was it. No fine nothing !
I got back on the train and everyone asked what happened. The train was moving again and people were unpacking all their smuggled stuff from everywhere in the wagon. Not much later we arrived in Novosibirsk. I was running short on time, I had to go to Mongolia before a specific date otherwise my Mongolian Visa wouldn’t be valid anymore. The next train to Irkutsk was leaving in a few hours and I bought a ticket for it. Because I didn’t use the Kazahk money for bribing I wanted to change it to Russian rubles. Funny enough I couldn’t find a exchange boot anywhere. I went to several banks who couldn’t or wouldn’t change it. There was one bank on the other side of town who would change it but I didn’t know how much time that would take. I assumed I couldn’t change it somewhere else but I was wrong. No bank would take the money, not in Russia, Japan or China. After Hong Kong I gave up and till this day I’m stuck with 150 dollars worth of Kazakh money. Maybe next time, I still need to catch my Kazakh flag. The first year I wasn’t really focused on catching flags so I missed out on lots of opportunities.
The next train ride took another 40 hours and I slept most of the time. There were a few shady characters in the train wagon. Two Siberian truck drivers who needed to be on the train for some reason. One was wearing an eye patch and looked pretty beat up, the other one was a drunk. Others warned me not to hang out with them but there was no escaping from them. They just kept sitting close to me and I decided to make the best of it and we drank a bottle of vodka together. The next morning when I woke up they were gone but all my stuff was still there so everything worked just fine. Normally the girls/woman working on the train are fucking horrible but this time there was a nice looking girl named Elen working and she was super friendly. She brought me free tea the whole day and we chatted a lot. Her English was not sufficient for a normal conversation but we go along. The last 10 hours the wagon was almost empty and I was so bored that I helped the train girl with cleaning and folding all the sheets and blankets. We exchanged numbers and facebook because there was a small change we meet up again in Irkutsk. After almost 80 hours and lots of trouble I finally arrived in Irkutsk.
