About communism I would say that Soviet Union had hardcore communism of totalitarian style(there are still remnants and you see the soviet people you deal with soviet mentality girls),Czechoslovakia,Hungary had a soft communism(called the goulash communism) sth much lighter than what DDR had which was hardcore stalinistic.Poland was in constant denial and that is why buildings in Poland look like shit workers refused to build anything decent as a reaction to communist regime.Communism worked better in Czechoslovakia where people were more compliant(traditionally) and Prague was the showcase of communism in eastern Europe(they took foreigners there to show them the abudance and high standards of living of people during communism)
