I just found out I have 11 days off (March 1-12) here in Sweden.

I am tossing around some ideas and I have narrowed it down to a few places.

1- Skopje. Some shitty logistics to get there but it is out of the way and in an area that I wanted to explore since I rode my motorcycle around Greece some years back. I looked up data sheets, and a few people have been there but the data was weak.

2- Poland. Its easy to get to from Sweden and I have been there before and like it.

3- Cortina d'Ampezzo. I have a Japanese buddy there right now who is ripping up the slopes. We both ski hard so the focus would be on the skiing. I would have to rent ALL my gear though, as I left mine in Canada.

These are the top three tonight. By no means is anything locked.

Insights, data and suggestions are appreciated.

From what i've heard forget Skopje, if you are going to go to any Balkan capital, make it Belgrade. Skopje is a supposed to be pretty ugly and uninteresting.

Not easy to get ONS in the Balkans if that's what you're after

Budget? Since you're studying the only feasible place sounds like Poland.

I have been to Belgrade before and had no luck, though the partying was great.

I did have luck in Sarajevo though.

I am studying but I have cash also. I dont really do "budget hostels" and the like. But yeah, Poland is just easier logistically.

Try Lodz. Less tourists, large city with lots of students.
Elektrownia and Pomarancza are 2 big nightclubs.

I am off to Cortina for some skiing this week.

I will be in Milan tomorrow for a night. I am staying in the NAVIGLI neighborhood.

An ex lover is meeting me in Bologna for a night as well before I head north to Cortina. The friend I am visiting in Cortina told me guys drive their Ferrari's up there to ski (but they dont start skiing until noon due to partying all night). Should be an interesting time. He was able to comp me a room and has lots of contacts (he is a ski guide and a chef) so I will be sure to bust out a data sheet on Cortina.

I will also fly to London and hit up the city for a Saturday night before flying back to Sweden on Monday night.

I am starting to hate planning trips over the internet. I feel so indecisive. This is not normal for me. I remember rolling through Europe in the 1990's. Just drop into a city and go from there.

Too much information anxiety I think.

As a Swedish you have no luck in the Balkans.The place is too tricky for you.I remember watching some dudes from Northern Europe and Australia trying to game Bulgarian chicks in Sunny Beach and they were completely out of space.

However as a Swedish you can pick up in Poland.But you must downplay your Viking look attractiveness.Polish girls are afraid that swedish dudes are too handsome for them.So you have to appear as a shy person who does not recognize his beauty wealth etc.Exercise Viking power in a human mode not the white knight Swedish guy mode.

They say that.I have also seen this written in forum in polish.Anyway I am not an expert of polish women reaction to Scandinavian men because it is not my business one of my gfs told me swedish men look artificial.

There are some who believe polish girls like darker skinned men because they regard them as more sexually competent however I do not want to refer to this I refered to their reaction to swedish men.

As for Balkan men where I have experience they are divided in their estimations.Some of them like us some not however the general consensus is that we do not look better than polish guys only the mentality is different.They are afraid of Mediteranean guys as being cheaters.Again this is what they have told me.

Generally polish women dislike men who display obvious superiority.The list involves Scandinavian men,English men,French men.They dislike to be treated as second class immigrant or anonymous eastern European.Again this has to do with mentality not with looks.So they have a secret hope that another immigrant will treat them better(not viable if you ask my opinion anyway they hope so).They like more human down to earth men and some immigrants display this mode.

Regarding looks they mostly treat all white men the same they do not see any real differences between us.They do not want to get involved with other slavic men like Russian men or Serbian men though despite they are close to mentality.

They complain that their choice among polish men is rather poor if they are not alcoholics they are already taken or have burdens.However most of them have already polish boyfriends and cheat on them.Most of them who I banged had polish boyfriends by their side.Again I am not judgemental and do not want exclusivity I do not get oppressive.

Anyway it is mixed because they may like when men get dominant on them and do not let them fool around(like muslim them do).I have to emphasize once again the complicated nature of polish women I never managed to describe them exactly.(this was a parenthesis from the main aesthetical issue what they think of swedish and generally Scandinavian men).

The comments here on Poland always perplex me, because I see stuff like this from the 2002 Polish Census (adjusted the ages upwards by 9 years). Let me know if this is ridiculous.

Never married:

I just came back from skiing in Italy. Cortina D'Ampezzo to be precise.

I flew to Milan and stayed in the NAVIGLI area, not far from the Duomo. This is a good area, with lots of good shopping and some cool places to hang out in the evening.

I do have to say though, Italy is hurting a bit. Compared to last time I was here (2009) it has a significant decrease in people going out. The high end places are still fine, but the bread and butter of Italian nightlife are definitely suffering at the moment.

I also hit up Bologna to meet with an ex lover. I assume that she would not be single as she is a tall blonde with blue eyes and a killer body. In her own words, it is impossible for her to be single, looking like she does, in Italy.

About 930 her phone kept ringing non stop, and she did not answer (after the first call). Apparently her boyfriend was parked somewhere near the main square and was losing his mind. She had said that she was out with a friend but he panicked. She was mad, but his bullshit worked and he ruined our night.

I went to Vinotequa after that. It was some socialites birthday and she kept filling up my glass with champagne. There was also a lack of women (although 100% of the ones there were hot) though I moved in on two cute green eyed Sicilians that some famous retired Italian footballer was trying to swoop. His buddy told me later that he is not used to that, as everyone in Bologna knows who he is. I still failed, although at one point I was pretty sure I was going back to my hotel with the Sicilians.

After my days of skiing I flew quickly into Gatwick to go see a friend in Surrey. He lives in this little village in a 600yo house by a river. One of the prettiest little areas I have ever seen. There were also a lot of very cute girls there, I was blown away. I tried making myself a girlfriend there, I nearly fell in love with this little sweetheart. Might have to hit up that "fly a girl to visit" thread.

I also managed to pull a girl off my easyjet flight. Only the second time in my life I have managed to do that. She is an Oxford girl going to Copenhagen for business and we went from the airport to her hotel and sipped on my duty free scotch. I left at 3 am and caught the train back to Sweden. No phone numbers, no nothing. Just good passionate sex. I forgot how much I love English girls.

A great little vacation.

Yep... Parts of England have changed beyond belief. When the dudes started flooding out of Poland (EU entry), places like Peterborough became little Polish cities. They came over in droves for summer fruit picking jobs, then established themselves in industry...(building, plumbing etc.)

Southampton apparently still has a crazy Polish ratio of 1 in 10.... I might be making that up... But it's large.

I think a lot of guys from the States don't realise how many Polish people live in our cities now.... It's a huge thing. British people are really into their ethnic food (Indian etc.), and now we've started to see loads of Polish Delis springing up etc. which is weird for Britain, because obviously the bulk of our ethnic shiz is due to the old empire...

I'm not complaining mind... I love 'em! The more the merrier....

AND for everything I just posted, you could carbon copy to Poland itself.... So many dudes left, that the manufacturing industry is now having its gaps filled by tons of Korean dudes.... Because all the Polish men left for the UK and Germany... (back in the day at least)
