This may not be the right place to ask this but i dont know any other forum where you can ask questions to other business minded people in action, so i decided to post the question here.

Do you guys know if you need to be a doctor or hold a medical license for you to buy pharmaceutical products from the UK, US or any asians countries? I remember two years ago i was looking to buy a X ray machine in the UK, i had a good friend who worked for british hospitals for many years in medium-senior positions and he had contacts for pharmaceutical suppliers. He told me that these suppliers wouldnt sell me those machines because i dont have any medical license and dont represent any governmental/medical private entity, i insisted that he should give me the suppliers contacts for a try. I called the suppliers and they told me that they dont sell pharmaceutical products to regular business people.

I am wondering if any of you guys know about a company who is specialised in selling pharmaceutical business products and would sell it to regular business people. Any country good to close such deals?

It's an interesting business with an obscene profit margin, but one that spends a healthy chunk of it's profits on influencing politicians. The FDA IS big pharma, and at this level of goverment they act similar to a mafia. They can viciously prosecute companies or individuals who step on the toes of big pharma profits. It can be an ugly racket, and is big government at it's most corrupt.

But those who manage to sell pharmaceuticals online competitively can pull in many millions per month, or even per day. Startup costs are commensurate with the potential gain and the level of competition.

You can buy pretty much anything without prescription in Cambodian pharmacies.

It worth a try to find out if they export medical stuff.

I wanted pitt to clarify his question a bit. I wasn't sure if he was talking about purchasing lab equipment, or if he was asking if/what licenses would be required to purchase pharmaceuticals.

Im not really thinking lab equipment, although that may help, but im thinking more medical products (tablets, etc)

I dont know what its like in Cambodia but you can get virtually whatever you want otc in Thailand as well, Im here right now and just loaded up for cheap but its not legal to export thai meds outside of thailand and it may be the same in cambodia, taking personal use is one thing but exporting and importing requires licenses etc. You could probably get away with being a go between, asian company that does have an export license and essentially taking orders taking a cut and having them send.

Sorry, i have no idea.
i bought a 40 pack of 10mg Diazepam(valium) there for 3.85 USdollar. Dirtcheap. They sell just about any medicine there in the pharmacies. I met a american/indian guy in the Phillies who claimed to have an online pharmacie. It ran from cambodia.

With pills you can source them from other countries. You will only ge able to get generics though as I believe pro brands are made via contract with certain suppliers. It seems like petty money unless you are in wholesale. Having a virtual pharmacy and dealing with all those logistics would seem like a nightmare. The higher up you can go the better it would be. For equipment the West has rules in place to only by overpriced junk from big corps like GE this is probably you had issues acquiring stuff since that is a closed supply loop and you do need "credentials" to get into it. Now the developing world is different acquiring a machine built in India and shipping it to a medical centre in Kenya or the Philippines would seem like a venture where no licenses would be needed.

It is funny because Big Pharma is indeed run like a mafia. The West is the most lucrative market because so many people are close to old age and there will be tons of hurdles put up to get into the most viable segments of this Industry by the FDA and Big Pharma.

It would probably be easier to get into arms sales/smuggling lol.

Actually im interested in shipping it to a developing country, i wouldnt necessarily say that you dont need a license in developing countries to do such businesses, but im sure the customs may inquire you about importing or exporting such products, it all depends on the country laws. But of course you may be able to bribe them and get away with it.

I have met someone in DR who was telling me about this machine specialised in manufacturing medical tablets, he told me that i could buy the machine and then store it somewhere and just produce high amounts of tablets as i move along with my business. I didnt quiet understand how it works because i have never seen this type of machine.

Do you have a deep understanding about this industry, like where in India i could find such suppliers, what type of machine i should buy and related issues?

sound like hes talking about a pill press and you can order them in china and get the base chemicals in china, ie press prolly runs you for a cheap one 4-5k, base chemical for diazepam prolly runs you less than 2k a kg, thats 1 000 000 grams divide by 10, thats 100 000 , 10mg tabs of valium for 7 k....getting the machine from china shouldnt be that difficult, getting it to the state impossible, getting it somewhere else, depending where doable but pill presses are connected with drug dealers so not easy to move around, assuming you could get it somewhere the bases are easy enough to get but then getting it into countries in mass quantities, good luck, bribing officials is no easy task and requires big money....if you're wanting to play in the shadows its risky stuff. If you're hoping to make legit stuff and be a legit company then you're talking maknig generics and you'd need to research the hell out of that and it's not an easy biz to compete in....tough to price match an established generic supplier who is buying raws in mass quantities while you're starting out
