You've some good/valid points. The "old wrinkly cunts" throwing out the money do score big, especially the rich Colombian dudes. Every rich guy has an old lady that's an 8 or better seems like.
It is a very superficial place. But, I think that's one of the reasons people go there. It's like what Scottsdale is to Phoenix. Or Beverly Hills is to Los Angeles. El Poblado is a snotty, stuck up, neighborhood. People with money live there and lots of tourist come there and blow tons of cash. There are lots of rich douchebags who shower chicks with money and Parque Lleras is the epicenter of the douchebag earthquake.

Guys go on and on about it because of the sheer number of ridiculously hot chicks. It's that simple.

There is not a lot to do in the daytime... Okay... When I was engaged to a Paisa and we went to Medellín, it was a whole different city than when I go now as a single dude. As an engaged dude, you're right, there isn't shit to do during the day unless you wanna watch a lot of movies, read a book, or go shopping with the ladies, because there's not much going on.

As a single dude, there isn't enough time in the day. First of all, if you're doing things right, you're out partying until 4 or 5 am almost every night. So the next day, I was usually sleeping until late afternoon. Then you get up, nurse your hangover away with the best coffee you've ever had in your life while you're scoping chicks at the coffee shop. You should be running some kind of internet game (unless you live there)... So you should have several leads already. You keep running your options with those, and getting new leads while you have your light "breakfast". Then I'd head over to Bodytech in the late afternoon to get a workout in. The hottest chicks you have ever seen in your life are all at the Bodytech near Parque Lleras. Around 10 am is also a great time to go there, for all the hot, rich housewives and daughters. Fucking awesome place to meet chicks. Then you roll back to your pad you've rented in Poblado and knock out a shower, then it's time to go grab some dinner and hit a happy hour. You go and do that until about 8 or 9, gaming chicks the whole way, then you roll back to your pad, take a little break, freshen up, check your email game, then get ready to go out for the evening, either with one of your leads from the web, coffee shop, happy hour, or gym, or to get new leads, scope more chicks.

Living there and living with your fiancé is totally different than rolling through for a visit and on a mission to destroy some ass. Or another thing I could imagine being pretty boring, is a guy who doesn't like to drink or party--what's he going to be doing the whole time? I dunno. There really isn't shit to do. If all you want to do is fuck and party, it's not a bad place to visit.

I do like a nice beach, though. I am definitely with you on that. How are the beaches in Dom Rep? I need to go read through those threads. Lots of cool dudes dropped lots of info there. I'll be going on vacation in June/July for a few weeks. Will probably be looking at going to Dom Rep, Ecuador, Lima, and, of course, Medellín.... LOL! I may go back to Cartagena, too. Although the beach there is a fucking catastrophe... I still have friends there from when I lived there. Maybe Barranquilla or Santa Marta. Who knows? I just love to travel and do things.

Daytime is best in Medellin, sometimes I'm on the street by 7am for the morning rush, I think internet dating is a waste of time, I've had luck with 7's, but online pics look 8-9 and nothing good comes easy, generally the hottest, upper class paisas don't have time or need online dating, they are flooded with "hot leads" in their everyday life and juggle a few guys and/or have decent income - you have to work to keep finding new ones. I'm talking about upper class paisas, there are plenty of head turners from the barrios who are chill and easier to score, but don't expect any intellectual input, ie a barrio amiga once said, "in Colombia, we eat, listen to music and fuck".

In any case, I believe the key is too fuck them so good, that they will always come back around. Dates should be planned ahead (last minute is tough, either they'll have plans or they'll perceive you got flaked and called her as a backup) and have a plan b if she's new, or be comfortable just winging it if she flakes, it happens. Paisas, aka interesadas, are game pros, but when you hook them, you own them!

There are better places for short term vacations, Medellin is a city that gets better for you over time.

I don't really make a excuse for it. I just can't run game in spanish. I taught myself to express sexual intentions in English, but in spanish it doesn't even come right. I know a local could kill it 100 times better than a foreigner could.I have examples with friends of mine that could go out with a different 9' every two days.My own younger brother even. The only reason why I don't kill it in my hometown is that I developed issues towards the place when growing up (Why I developed them is irrelevant) and I haven't been interested in getting over it. Whereas a few years ago, the above only applied to 9’s and 10’s strata 6 and directed to wards non Latino’s
Today it’s dripped down to 8 and 7’s, strata 5 and 4’s and directed to non Colombians.

Is there a correction coming? Only the most wishful thinking would suppose so.

The answer was a mixture of either Dominican Republic Or Spain, with upper strata leaning towards Spain and lower strata leaning towards Dominican Republic

In both cases note the native Spanish speaking, the Dominican’s cultural influence and the colonial Spanish roots.. Also the absolute scarcity of availability, compared to other European or Americans.

Take-away message

The only foreigner that has a chance with top tier girls apart from Locals, is either Spanish or, as Volke states,ex-pat Colombians


Now does spending time here and building social circles, fluent Spanish, dressing sharp improve things? Absolutely.

I personally think that the reason their are so many diverse opinions about Medellin is simply because the guys that go down there are so different.

Comparing the experiences of a guy that speaks good spanish, decent looks and a bank roll to the guy that stays in a shared living environment and is watching how much he can spend a day makes a big difference.....along with the type of women the guys go after....I think my success in Colombia is based in a large part on the fact that my "10" is probably what most colombianos consider an 8 just because they are so thin and have relatively small breasts and asses.

I like Victoria Secret models while most Colombianos go for Chica Car Audio models....which to me looks like a chic on steroids.

We are all going to have our own opinions and perspectives but I agree with latinlover. Being an ex-pat Colombian here is really the best. One of my employees here is dating a Colombian that has lived in the US for over 15 years. He speaks with an accent now. When he comes to visit her the first thing she always says when she introduces him is that he's really a Piasa and not a foreigner. It's interesting how her friends react positively when she says that. When my ex-girlfriend invited me over her house for the first time her dad spent 15 minutes yelling at her for ruining the family reputation by bringing me home. I was standing right there while he went off on her.

On the other hand I met a guy that is engaged to a very wealthy Piasa. They met at college in the US and she brought him back to Medellin to meet the family. The guy is not at all wealthy and a bit of a beta but she sure seems to be into him. It was funny having to explain to him that not every Colombian has body guards, private drivers, and fincas. He just thought that was how Colombians lived.

Like WEDO I don't like the classic Colombia "enhanced" girl so that helps me. It also helps working down here and throwing money at the problem lol. Just my 2 pesos.

Just a quick edit by throwing money around I'm not going with pre-pagos or paying anyone. It just means that I own a couple of nice cars, a big apartment, and the office here. It's more of the lifestyle play.

There is definitely a lot of class-war shit going on, but I never felt like I was on the lower end of it.

Probably some colombianas prefer colombianos to gringos and some prefer gringos to colombianos....never felt I was at a disadvantage in Colombia.....some of the best pussy I have ever had in Colombia I stole from colombian guys. I mean guys can talk shit about girls being materialistic all you want but really hot chicks think they deserve something more than the average chicks and I don't care what part of the world you are in. So really nothing is much easier than stealing a little hottie from a broke ass colombiano....nothing.

I think I will be back to Medellin and Cali in April. If you want to come to Cali...let me know....My Colombian friends and I have what we call mix it up night where we invite three or four of our cheek kissing girlfriends and take them to a nice club....three guys and 8 or 9 chicks and see who ends up with who. I have been to Babylon twice.....I think the chicks there for the most part are very young....and the only reason I brought it up is because it is as close to an american style pick up bar as I have seen in Colombia and because I saw chicks with no fear of making out with gringos in public (I guess that makes them trailer thrash).

I think I have been to every club in Barrio Colombia and have never been turned away yet....I think it is a latino myth. jajaja

Only guys that get turned away are guys without women....I have seen that happen.

This is simply not the case. I've met droves upon droves of high-class Colombianas that refuse to date Colombianos. They have their reasons, but when asked, they will almost always hit on the themes of Colombian dudes are womanizers, unfaithful, too much maschismo, etc. I'm not categorizing anyone, just saying that that's what I've heard from chicks many times. There are hoards of Colombian women who exclusively date foreigners and that's not from scraping the bottom of the barrel either.

From my experiences that is not the norm.....plenty of women that like Colombianos will date a Gringo and plenty that prefer Gringos will still date a Colombiano.

That is like saying young colombianas prefer older guys because the have an older boyfriend when the truth is they like younger guys as well....I find very few mutually exclusive situations when it comes to colombianas and who they will be with.

I do not believe many Colombianas have a litmus test when it comes to who they will date....even ugly guys can get lucky in Colombia if they dance great and are good in bed. jajaja I have seen Colombianas that swear they would only date white guys hook up with morenos that were loaded....I have seen it all.

Interesting thread. I think WEDO is speaking from the perspective of someone who spends a lot of time in Colombia, speaks Spanish and has social status and a nice lifestyle. While latinlover refers to the 95% of gringos who have none or little of this.

I'm in Colombia right now and will have a longer post after I have gone to Medellín, Cali and possibly a few other places. For now I will just echo what's been said here already, that besides Spanish and game.....time, social circle and money (to pay for lifestyle, not prostitutes) are necessary. Colombia certainly isn't pussy paradise but personally I don't mind the conservative culture because I'm so tired of dealing with loose women in my home country. As someone who speaks Spanish and by his appearance is obviously foreign, I have been working my ass off approaching here. And while I have gotten a lot of numbers and IOIs, they don't translate into bangs. I'm still somewhat enjoying myself though. This is my third time in Colombia and where I'm at right now I don't have a social circle to rely on.
