In the summer of last year, I broke up with my last girlfriend, who had been a complete bitch as far as I'm concerned.

A bit of background info...

I was in China, studying abroad for a semester.

She, a Chinese who was studying abroad in Germany (my second home country), had been visiting friends and family there at the time. We'd met in Germany and had been together for about ten months. As a girlfriend, she fucked up in too many ways for me to list here, but recent transgressions there were enough for me to decide that she could go fuck herself when she returned to Germany to continue her studies. Didn't officially break up with her there...just ceased contacting her (always some exuse on her end not to talk).

For my remaining time in China, I slept with eight girls and made out with another ten or so. Essentially no contact between us at this time.

Shortly before returning to Germany in August, I sent her a two paragraph email basically telling her it was over. No response. Basically haven't talked or seen eachother since.

Since then, I've been going through a bit of a drought. Little time to go out, plus the fact that getting casual sex in my city is a slow and tedious process (strong sense of cliquishness in clubs and bars with practically no "hookup culture", boring women, etc.).

Don't do it. If she hasn't contacted you and didn't even seem especially invested when she was your girlfriend, it comes off as tremendously needy and pathetic for you to contact her. Make no mistake: she broke up with you, and your two paragraph email was a poor excuse for a face-saving move.

You got frozen out and have no chance with this girl. Can't win them all. Admit this to yourself, invest in your current leads/approaches, and move on like any self-respecting man would.

Meh, I disagree with the previous posters, but what the hell do I know.

Do you still have any feelings for the girl? If so, then you've got to move on. However, if you're just looking for someone to break your drought, then this might be worth pursuing. Myself, I usually just put the effort into finding a new girl, but I've been guilty in the past of using an old fuck buddy to get the wheels rolling again.

First off, you need to find out if she's even available. That could put a prompt end to this right away. Second, fuck ego, just hit her up and see if she even responds. Ideally through text, but I have no idea what your options for communication are. Either way make sure your message is very short, just a hello stranger, hope all is well kind of thing.

There's a way to just see how she's doing and not act like you're going for sex. Remember the fastest way to chase her off again is to push for sex. Actually it's hard to say who broke up with whom. I thought the same at first, but a few months after she left for Germany, I recieve an email and a note through facebook from her. She asks if everything's alright and why she hasn't heard from me in so long. I ask her to give me her skype account so I can dump her that way. She responds with some bullshit excuse about why she can't use skype and says we should just communicate through emails (as we had done during my previous trip to China), asking me if I've got QQ (a Chinese chatting software).

I thought she was full of shit and didn't respond to her after that.

That really depends on how/if she replies. If she's cold from the get, there's really no point in wasting your time. However, if she quickly inquires about how you've been, then you may have a shot. Don't use email; I can't believe I'm saying this, but looks like facebook is your best option.
