Worth watching.

Cancun looked way different than I remembered. Although he didn't take my advice of going during High School Senior week, but that is neither here nor there.

He talks about how American girls are difficult which is funny.

There are also some Argentinian guys who talk about how American girls are difficult.

Looks like he is going to Argentina next.

I love this show. His observations are totally on point.

Like him, I've often felt that I pretty much had to get drunk to get anywhere with girls, and that they just don't respond well unless a) I'm shitfaced and b) we're talking about inane, base shit (something that, for a nerd like myself, necessitates steady liquor intake).

I see where he's coming from when he says he loves to fuck, but would like to connect a little first. In America, you can't have this mindset and get very far, especially if you are young (18-25) and/or are dealing with girls in that age range. Young girls here seem to demand cruder behavior. They just don't know how to respond to more level headed, calm approaches, and appear to get downright frightened by any approach that makes you seem remotely "intellectual" or mature. You've got to race as close to the bottom with them as you can-whoever hits the lowest common denominator first wins them over.

You can see a huge difference in the way he was approaching those young Mexican girls. After he isolated the one he wanted, he was able to talk calmly (and soberly) about his interests, what he studied, why he studied it, etc, and then get her to do the same.
I remember feeling anxious as I watched this part, because I've been acclimated to American dating. Here, if you try to take that approach, the girl will roll her eyes (at worst) or simply disappear (at best). You're almost guaranteed to turn her off. I instinctively expected the girl (Fernanda) to kind of run off or clearly signal him to go away, or perhaps for her friends to just cockblock him somehow.

And yet it didn't happen. She didn't reject his calm conversation, she actually responded in kind, suggested a place to meet, and thanked him when he left. It's unfortunate that he didn't catch up with her, but if he had I'm willing to bet he could have gotten somewhere. He seemed surprised, and so was I. You can't get that type of reaction here.

America's conservatism (Puritanism-that's where it all comes from) creates a land of extremes. It seems that when it comes to sexuality, people are either very strict traditionalist types who don't let loose much at all and promote this repression of sexuality within the culture or they're on the other extreme (which you see in the video) and are completely base to the point at which anything more meaningful than the drunken encounters you saw in the vid is antithetical to them or to relating with them.

There's no real middle ground. You can't just go up and be sort of normal and chill, then work your way up to something a bit more sexual (the way he tried with Fernanda in this video and with the cuban girls in his last video). You've got to be drunk and beholden to expressing your most base instincts. That can be fun for a little while (he obviously had a decent time), but it gets old very quickly, and at some point you want more. These girls just can't offer more.

If you are an American and do want more, you can either a) wait it all out and date older women 27+ who'll possibly be a little more mature (with the massive caveat that they'll likely have spent most of their prior years behaving like the girls you saw in this vid and will have the mileage/baggage to match) or b) find women from another culture/country.

It is unfortunate that this has come to be the state of things, but it is what it is.

That was a cool video and this is a very good assesment of what's wrong with American women. It's crazy to see the difference in the women from Mexico and the women from America in that video, granted the Americans were on vacation and the Mexicans live there. Still, even sober, those approaches typically don't go over as well with American girls.

Thanks for posting that vid. I remember this guy from the Cuba vid. This guy has really good vids and I'm looking forward to Argentina since its a place I want to visit.

In general, it kinda reminded me of my time in Cancun except that I would always wound up going local and gaming either Mexicanas that worked in Cancun or ones that were on vacation from another Mexican city. The views on Americans is stuff I've already pretty much settled on.

I'm trying to gauge the premise here. Is this a TV show in the making or just random vids?
Looking at the NYC girls he eventually has them naked on camera, is this staged or is he fucking them and videoing them post-coitus? If the latter, then the NYC series has got to be one of the most brilliant day game vids ever.

But her friends were boring.
If I was early 20's I'd much rather hang with the American chicks in the vid.
You'd be waiting for your wedding night to shoot with those Mexican chicks!

Was the girl/girl scene a set up..the lighting looked too good to be so spontaneous,or is his camera work that good.

This is the closest to the "Anthony Bourdain" meets Swooping Girls travel show we have talked about a million times on here that I have seen.

Mixx was going to do a show even closer to that ideal, but I will let him explain.

I think he is like anyone.

He is just making videos, but if Hollywood or The Travel Channel calls, I am sure he is answering. Maybe he will "self-publish" these things and sell the dvd's or a spin off travel guide.

I think he could have a biz here, and has talent as a filmaker. The Cuba one got tons of views and basically blew up.

Personally, I am not sure about how the filming the girls naked is going down.

I think he is paying the girls to "model".

He makes it very clear he is not paying for "sex".

Where the lines "blur" from there is anyone's guess.

paying for modelling or not , I think this guy does a great job. And the show is very well produced indeed.

It is always refreshing to see guys out there with the same mindset that most of us share here , so props to him.

That paying for modelling part makes it a little so-so for me. But the New York series was interesting, though it seems he's intentionally targeting exotic foreigners or something. It'll be interesting to see what he comes up with when he moves out of his comfort zone in NA for real.

His Cuba episode is pretty out of his comfort zone, he speaks passable spanish but doesnt seem to be fluent and he seems blown away by the cuban culture

There is a show called Dexpedition that is sort of like this, a lot less serious and a bit more scripted but its pretty funny and the 2 guys pull some grade A ass.


It seems to be a MTV produced show, but it is European based, one of the scandi countries I believe.

It runs on MTV Europe but the guy producing it are british and italian. They have visited Scandinavia in their travels though. However that show is nowhere near as genuine as Travel Bum. The Dexpedition guys are just leaning even more on the TV-production aspect to pull whereas in TB the camera is just there to record.

Also, regarding the cuba episode it's still NA and as you say he speaks passable Spanish. I'd love to see him completely in the deep end of the pool by going to EE or Asia.

Yeah, I give this cat mad props.

I don't totally dig his steez, but he has a steez that a lot of people dig.

The fact that I can sit through something he makes for 20 min, is pretty impressive in and of itself.

Hell, I will most likely watch anything movie this guy makes as long as the place he is going to is of interest to me.

He has talent.

However, I wonder if my statement above is more a result of the absolute crap that is produced today I am comparing his work to, or because it is real quality.

I would like to think there would be 20 shows produced that are way better than this one, but that is obviously not the case.

For any of the young bucks reading this, know this:

There is a gaping hole on the internet and TV for material like this.

And when I say "gaping", I mean you could drive Paul Allen's Yacht thru it.

Exactly . There is an even greater gap for travel+swooping content in an emerging market like Brazil.
There are practically 0 blogs about game or travelling/lifestyle in Portuguese.
I have my eyes on this.

that said , its just great too see ideas like the travel bum show ,despite occasional flaws, it definetely caught my attention.

Good find. Definitely going to follow this. In one of the other videos he approaches a model on the escalator and she flashes him the wedding ring before he even opens his mouth. He comes out with "if I were as beautiful as you I'd get a fake wedding ring too" *sniggers.
He's just very honest and funny with it. It's all about the approaching.... Shame that ozzie chick told him she has a finance after their date! I would have been pissed but he seems to enjoy the whole experience for what its worth with no regrets.

He took them down until after the release of his TV show. They will be released once it airs to help drive momentum.
