Overcoming bad coordination
I was wondering if anyone could some advice on how to improve my coordination. My gross motor skills are quite poor I don’t know if this is a result of having aspergers or just bad genetics. I am determined not to let this hinder me as I want to get better at sports. I’ve been doing jujitsu for about a year now and I find I still despite my size lose a lot during roles as I'm uncoordinated. Additionally I was thinking of joining my college’s rugby team in the fall and want to be better equipped physically when I try out. If anyone has struggled with coordination in the past and overcame it I’d be interested in hearing what strategies you used to do it

Get really strong. Won't help your natural coordination but an abundance of strength covers a lot of defects.

Getting really strong is terrible advice if you want to overcome a weak spot in your game. You'll just be covering the hole with a bedsheet.

Coordination is a consequence of time dedicated to learning a sport. If you have never dedicated yourself to one before, obviously it will take longer to acquire it. Don't worry about it, it's normal.

Best ways to develop coordination in my experience:

1. Jump rope

2. Animal walks, specially the lizard, crab, bear crab and bridge walks

Learn to juggle. Learn handstands.

When I was younger my coordination wasn't very good, then I learned to juggle, played a lot of hackeysack and did handstands everyday. Then my coordination was never an issue, almost always better than other people.
