How thrillingly egalitarian it would be to live in a society where the vast majority were kept in wretched poverty, relentlessly repressed and spied on by their own government, and murdered if they tried to escape.

This is what $44,300 a year worth of education buys you: a daughter who is bitter, angry and confused. Raging at men. Raging at biological reality. Nostalgic for a society where she'd have been forced to spend hours queuing for bread, and not a skinny latte in sight.

If I were living in an isolated American state park with rangers and construction workers, they might say worse. Still, as a student of Russian culture, I am always shocked to hear people here speak this way, because we are nestled in one of the pulsing hearts of the country that, to my admiring mind, invented feminism

This is a paradoxical result of our sincere and politically justified desire to make women equal with men in everything.

I keep the door to my cabin kitchen propped open, too. It lets in the day so I don't have to waste power on overhead lights. Outside, there are the crossing paths we follow, the little wooden shacks where we sleep, and the hot, lush, green earth. Steam flares into the sky and disappears. An American visitor in this place, I can't understand having had leaders who decreed equal rights for women. I draw instead on a history of housewives who took to the streets to ask for more. More, I repeat to myself as I heat the pans of vegetable oil. I want more. Lenin's equality is outdated in Russia, but women in the USA have been begging for that twin weight for years.

Have they fuck. Western feminism is about making sure no woman is ever held responsible for anything.

Women want shiny things, shoes, and constant validation just for having vaginas. They don't want to shoulder any burden heavier than a Louis Vitton handbag.

It's funny; after reading the Gulag Archipelago it seems as if they didn't exactly have equal rights, even in the gulag. According to Solzhenitzyn, women were sent in almost equal number to men, but they didn't engage in the same work.

Men didn't have the opportunity to move up in their camps, women did. It's quite simple how, actually. They just slept with the camp overseers. Women saw their worth and used it. The guards also noticed that women could absolutely not deal with the brutal winter conditions of the Soviet Far East and Siberia, so they relegated them to other duties that weren't as hard on the body. Not even the gulag was fully equal, because the so-called progressive Soviets realized that men and women couldn't do the same work.

If this girl really wants to complain about biological imperative, let's put her up the Kolyma River near Magadan. Let's see her mine for gold in -50C weather. See how real equality in the Soviet Union feels like.

The love of the Soviet Union by the left in the West and the historical revisionism surrounding it has always been ridiculous. I imagine in the future every child in school will be taught the nonsense she talks about as complete fact and won't know any better so history can repeat itself once again.

They also get very upset at (or completely ignore) those who prove them wrong or when victims of communism flee from their hellhole to greener pastures.

Communism is a religion.

The Gulag Archipelago should be required reading in every history class that even covers the Cold War.

She writes about her house duties like poetry. She loves every second of that place, she's trying really hard to make it sound like she doesn't. A big shit test to all the men who don't see that women love being under the foot of men.

She praises Lenin like Jesus, she praises an ideology that brought suffering, death and poverty to so many people. Yet she and her friends expect us to take her as a beacon of morality and justice. Feminism is a sick communist joke that politicians are milking for votes and women are too stupid to see that.

Traditionally it was highly patriarchal, but the Communists did a great deal trying to rip apart marriage. As a matter of fact when the Bolsheviks came to power initially they totally destroyed divorce laws with the effect that it became instantly a social system totally devoid of reason:

+ pretty women flocked to cities and lived in veritable hard hardems to 20-40 with wealthy men - no marriage whatsoever
+ moderately well-off men or property owners married and divorced women as they liked for harvest or to help with work doing divorces twice a year

As far as the communist times are concerned from 1940-1980s. Most only survived as couples. Yes - many more women did STEM studies and there was a constant push for women's rights etc, but since most married early and got pregnant early coupled with the constant miserable economic situation - feminism was mostly in word only. In order to destroy family for real they would have needed economic prosperity, broad social security and child support for single mothers and they never had that. Also there was no immigration and other factors eliminated the male population even more (alcohol, prisons, dangerous work deaths) the gender ratios in all Communist countries were highly advantageous for men. Most Betas could get laid or get a decent wife early on if they had some of their basic shit together. There was hardly an opportunity for carousel riding at all.

That is why Russian women who move to the West as a teenager are behaving completely Westernized.
