Champagne. At this point my goal is not to get either of us more drunk, but just to continue the high spirits and fun vibe. Impressing the girl with a complicated mixed drink can certainly work well if you have pro skills, but it adds another bump in the interaction since you have to concentrate on the drink and keeping her in the zone with conversation. I truly believe if you become a pro at picking out the girls into your "type", confidently handling the logistics, and --most importantly-- minimizing potential snags and mistakes on the way, any given night is your night.

I feel ghetto in this thread but I always stick to vodka and cranberry juice. Shout out to that boy Chad for giving me the idea to put my cheap ass rubbing alcohol vodka in a Grey Goose bottle. Making legit cocktails is too much work. I stick to 2 ingredients and there are plenty of yummy combinations. Recently found goldmine is Malibu Mango Flavored Rum and Sunkist (diet or regular). The liquor store had Malibu on sale so I picked one up and I love Sunkist so that is always around. It makes a delicious fruity drink... using 7up also works. For something unique, sweet tea vodka and 7up is good. Mix half and half. Actually, any flavored vodka and 7up makes a solid drink. My personal favorite is Absolut Kurant.

Another important tip, the BEST cheap vodka is Burnetts. It is notably better than Smirnoff and half the price. And miles ahead of other cheap vodkas like Mccormicks, Skol, etc.

@ Houston : Crystal Light is a low calorie powder mix in different flavors. Vodka and any flavor is lethal and hides the smell/taste of vodka. I saw el-mechanico using vodka, crystal light and Ice.(Picture attached for you mi amigo)

My personal favorite Champagne, simple elegant and effective "Freixenet cava codon negro brut" Black Bubbly that has been mentioned in another thread by Wine aficianados avilable at most liqor stores, I keep one chilled at my F-Pad, Thanks to G champagne closer has worked in the past.....

I don't like the aspertame in it so in my drinks I sprinkle just a tad for flavor. When I make one for a girls I use a whole small packet almost that is for a 16oz water bottle. Taste it to make sure its not gross. If you use too much it ruins the drink.

It's one and a half shots of vodka over a full cup of ice(see cup above) then sprinkle some crystal light (pink lemonade) on top. Then add soda water and lime.

well, unlike some of you cats, i like to keep it simple. i choose and never offer choices, but i never bring a girl back to mine unless i have booze or am grabbing it on the way back with her. the story i tell about it, or let her infer, is where the complexity comes in.

like other heavy drinkers, my home booze stash is always cycling. during the spring and summer i stock vodka (always russian standard, recommended to me by the muscovite doll who yielded the same flag) or gin (bluecoat or hendrick's) and simply mix that up with some flavored seltzer or a san pellegrino lemon, orange or blood orange variety soda. these are tasty and palatable. i make them strong but short. it's rare that they're ever finished before the situation jumps off.

otherwise, after depositing them onto the microfiber couch i'll return back with a couple glasses of wine, but only in a thick ikea tumbler glass. depending on where it's from, i'll tell a tale about rioja reserva and my travels to spain, or how i had to tragically leave some life-changing malbec with a fat black security guard named banquita at MIA because they wouldn't let me check loose bottles from EZE into the states. i love pouring great wine (or cheap wine that has a great story) into pedestrian ikea glassware because as the original lord roissy would say, "contrast is king."

during the fall and winter, they get a can of domestic or two fingers of makers mark or johnny walker black. tell ya what, i've never met a crispy white girl who wouldn't feign liking some brown liquor (quiz them whether it's scotch or bourbon) and at least toss the first one down the hatch like a good jezebel reader. if i'm entertaining a foreign national i'll acquiesce and pre-purchase something she likes or make her some ghetto stovetop coffee (this is super-romantic for the right girl and deserves it's own article).

bottom line i would say, keep it simple. vegas-flair shit is tryhard. give her a taste of what you would prep for yourself.

I've had some success grabbing nonalcoholic beer because most girls wont notice it's a nonalcoholic type. Would you just stock regular beer, or make any old cocktail for the girl while you grab one of the nonalcoholic beer?

I went through a 32-hour bartending course. The things it taught me:

1) Intelligent people going into bartending is a microcosm of Heartiste's theory of the apocalypse. It's the easiest fucking job in the universe that gets paid the most amount of money for basically doing work that is neither difficult nor useful. (The reward model is a little off - you should get big tips when you deal with retarded fucking customers, not when you sell someone a Touchdown brah.)

2) It is also a massive DHV. Bitches love fancy drinks. (my theory is that) bringing her over for a rum and coke makes her feel like she's getting hammered, or you're trying to get hammered, in order to fuck her. Bringing her over for a Cosmopolitan or a muddled mojito or some other frou-frou drink is some next-level shit. And it's fabulously easy with a little prep work. I don't even have all the tools - I used a bigass plastic handle of a spoon and a plastic cup - and I muddled up some limes with a martini and made a bombass lime martini the other night that looked pro-fucking-fessional, with the little chips of ice and lime floaties and everything in it (too bad I was serving my buddy).

You don't have to spend the $200 on the course or whatever it costs in your area, but memorize a shitload of drinks and get the gear. It's unbelievable.

The only problem I have now is preventing myself from turning into an alcoholic.

To elaborate a little on what I said about fancy drinks being a DHV, my THEORIES on it are this:

Women (men too, I think) equate a cocktail with having a specific price and value - $7 for a Cosmopolitan or whatever. When they see you as someone who can create this 'wealth' out of nowhere, all of a sudden some gangster shit lights up in their brain, the same way you reflexively think 'hmmm' when you look at those retarded commercials about metal detectors and you see the old man pull up some bootleg wedding ring from the sand. Some back part of your brain temporarily takes over when you think you can get paid.

Consequently, having someone around who can magically generate (because that's what it is to them, a magical generation of some shit like when you run your credit card at the Chipotle and all of a sudden a burrito appears) these things is some back-brain shit that they like. When they're used to (suckering some guy into) paying $7 for at the fluffy martini bar for a drink, but you can wave your mystical hand and get it done for 'free', that's high orders of DHV. Now she thinks you can make rainbows explode into puppies too or whatever.
