RE: Rolling Stone: Brutal Rape at UVA
Fox TV is running continuous coverage this morning of this topic. They're showing the Rolling Stone cover, then the page from the story with the weird multicolored image of the girl crying, then showing that the investigation determined its all bullshit. Then they go straight to the story of how the fraternity is suing Rolling Stone.

Basically, Fox is blasting Rolling Stone like they actually deserve. I'd bet the other networks will have approximately zero coverage of the story, but they may be shamed into it. It's always funny how people who only get their news from the MSM suddenly hear about huge months-old stories for the first time, when they get too big to ignore!

RE: Rolling Stone: Brutal Rape at UVA
You're hearing the other networks reporting on the "scathing" review by Columbia's journalism school and how the frat is taking legal action, but they aren't asking the really hard questions and placing the appropriate pressure:

Why haven't any heads rolled?
Why hasn't Rolling Stone looked at its failures and tried to change its procedures?
Most importantly, why hasn't the bitch that made the false accusation to start the entire thing been charged?

1: Heads do not roll in media unless they piss off someone rich and/or powerful. The frat in question is neither but we will see how much in damages they can get. If it is in the mid-high 6 figures I would reckon someone might get fired.

If it is in the 7-figure area then someone will get fired.

2: Rolling stones is after sensationalism. If they can shift a certain number of units based on these types of stories and they come out with a profit after the lawsuits then they will keep doing it.

Profit>>your life. They do not give a flying fuck about frats and they know a good number of people feel the same way. Add a "poor me I got raped" story into the mix and you have a good sales point.

3: A woman being charged for something she reported on? Again she didn't piss anybody off who is rich/powerful and we're not in Russia or CHina. The worse that can happen is her being fired and sued.

The fact is that the media can lie anyway it chooses:

http://www.projectcensored.org/11-the-me...gally-lie/

The media is under no obligation whatsoever to tell the truth. Sure - it has to cover some basic tracts for libel or defamation, but in the end it can tell pretty much anything as long as it tows the party line.

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree...urity-laws

They even enacted a law now against whistleblowers AS WELL as journalists who oppose some mythical "national security" or government condoned program. The White House says that the Rape Culture is true, thus it must be true. Any major journalist who oppose that narrative is in danger of at least losing his job.

Thus Rolling Stone journalist are in the clear - they essentially repeat the lies of the White House. They may have overdid things, but they were good comrades.

This is not the end. Since the laws are changed to make even more crazy allegations stick I expect more of that crap to come up.

If that's all Chuck has on Emily Renda, it's pretty underwhelming. The only contradiction he points out is between her describing the supposed "rape" as occurring in a dorm room, and an NBC reporter describing it as occurring in a frat house. It's very easy to say that the reporter just misheard or misunderstood her, that happens all the time. He spends most of the piece talking about her drinking which is a reach and shows he doesn't have much.

Too bad, because she is a liar and a very good foot soldier in the "survivor" racket. It would be very useful if something more definite could be found.

I don't think this rape crisis stuff is sincere, at least for most apparatchiks like Erdely. Erdely's whole career is based on rape-trolling. It fits the "War on Women" narrative, so there are powerful interests who want to consciously promote it.

Fox is highlighting it because it wants to counter the narrative in behalf of the Republican party.

Politicians like Hillary and Gillibrand have ridden this "war on women" donkey for years. I think it's going to bite them in the ass. All it takes is a candidate to call them out on the bullshit without looking harsh. Appeal to the interests of men and mothers of boys. We will see the party organs promote stories to advance metapolitical narratives, with no explicit link to candidates or politics.

This is about controlling the military power and the economy of the United States, and diverting the public from the real issues.

I've said this before but it bares repeating. Bitches like Emily Renda have a financial incentive to leverage hysteria to inflate rape cases. Rape hysteria is a jobs program for mediocre girls with worthless degrees.

Emily Renda has a sociology degree yet leveraged rape hysteria to land a comfy administration job at UVA and a glamorous job at that. She gets to travel to Washington, D.C. and testify before congress. She is semi famous and gets to be on tv and interviewed in magazine. Pretty sweet for a narcissistic young girl with otherwise no marketable skills.

They need their rape cases to justify these jobs. True rape is so rare, they need to manufacture false cases to keep the hysteria alive. Emily through Jackie may have overreached this time with such an unbelievable tall tale. But now it looks like everything's going to work out for Emily in the end.

Take care of those titties for me.

Sabrina Rubin Erdely was the original author. I'm guessing a little Linkedin creeping would yield some useful info.

Jackie Coakley was the supposed "victim" that the article was about. She should have her name blasted all around the internet.

Will Dana is the managing editor of the paper who said she will be staying on.

Yes, exactly. In much the way the Catholic church would create new sins so they could continue to lord over people's lives with guilt and shame, these people need to create new "crimes" for men to keep themselves employed. Ever wonder why the definition of rape keeps expanding? It's because the rape jobs program needs it to.

Once again, I'll say the SJW crowd is worse for men than the old religion that used the hold sway in the US. Under religion, both sexes could sin. Under SJW/media rule, only men are the sinners.

It's the Rape Industrial Complex! Just like the DUI Industrial Complex, and so many other ways that regulators and bureaucrats have been making the law into a permanent and growing income stream for themselves. In the case of the DUI Industrial Complex, lawyers, private counseling provides like MADD, and private probation services companies pay campaign contributions to legislators to make sure their services are mandated.

I bet there are rape support services organizations paying campaign contributions the same way, to try to generate more business for themselves.

It's really not a joke. Because of the "military rape crisis," the government has been hiring scores of sexual assault prevention trainers, victim advocates and program coordinators. Some of these are getting up to $80,000 a year in very small military posts where there might be one real rape every ten years.

If feminists were to ever concede the we've reached a state of equality between the sexes, it would mean that feminism as a movement had effectively rendered itself obsolete. If you start a political movement to achieve some goal, and then subsequently achieve that goal, it means your movement is no longer necessary. For feminists, that would would mean giving up a huge source of political power and, as others have noted, a whole lot of make-work jobs.

Hence why we keep seeing more and more new categories of victim, more and more categories of 'oppression' created out of thin air, and greater levels of shrilling about an ephemeral male privilege that has been replaced with actual, substantiated female privilege. Feminism needs the air of 'oppression' to survive, otherwise it becomes irrelevant and wastes away.

That's why you see cases like the UVA/RS rape hoax where the SJW movement is baying, against all evidence, trying to believe that something actually occurred. They'll have their rape culture, come hell or high water, and if they can't find one then they'll bloody well make one up themselves and force it down our throats.

We've even seen articles recently by feminists complaining that women can't fart in public or pick their nose.

And of course that princess walked around Harlem and documented the horrors of black men wishing her a nice day and calling her pretty.

And of course there are the atrocities of men spreading their legs on the subway.

They've run out of shit to complain about and have become a parody of themselves.

RE: Rolling Stone: Brutal Rape at UVA
Richard Bradley, who more than anyone else deserves credit for daring to question the Rolling Stone article as soon as it appeared and helping set off the chain of events that lead to its debunking, has posted his take on the Columbia report:

http://www.richardbradley.net/shotsinthe...k-thereof/

It's a long post but very much worth reading in its entirety. He goes through all the salient points in the report and summarizes the multiple lies and obfuscations of Sabrina Rubin Erdely, Will Dana (that's Rolling Stone's editor) and other relevant players. It is clear that everyone at Rolling Stone is still lying through their teeth about everything related to this story.

I will quote just the concluding part of Bradley's post because he makes exactly the right point and the precise point that the SJW party line crowd is trying to obscure:

Quote:Remember how I said that I thought Columbia made one big, fundamental mistake?

Well, here it is.

The only part of Sabrina Rubin Erdely’s article that was closely examined by Columbia was the lede which detailed Jackie’s incredible story of gang rape.

When in fact, Columbia should have closely examined, and reported on, the entirety of Erdely’s article.

Because ultimately, this article was not really about Jackie. Take a pencil, lop the Jackie story off the top, and the article could have run pretty much as it was.

The article was about the existence of rape culture and university indifference to said culture.

Jackie’s story was supposed to be proof of that, and Jackie’s story was a lie.

That fact alone does not disprove Rubin Erdely’s rape-culture thesis.

But if you examined the rest of the article with the same critical eye that you examine Jackie’s story, you’ll find that it, too, is deeply deceptive. It depends on selective presentation of material, the use of bogus or discredited statistics, quotes that are either fabricated or taken out of context, unconfirmed allegations, anonymous sources, the deliberate exclusion of evidence contrary to the author’s thesis, and material that is either fabricated or presented in a way that is so profoundly misleading it can only be evidence of dishonesty or incompetence. (The multiple verses of a UVa fight song, for example, that nobody at UVa has actually heard.)

Sabrina Rubin Erdely was not first and foremost trying to obtain justice for Jackie; that was incidental. Her intention was to prove the existence of rape culture and to shame and ostracize those whom she fervently believed participated in it.

When you know how Rubin Erdely went about her work, you are forced to conclude that she failed, that the rest of her story is as unbelievable as Jackie’s story—it’s just made up in a different way. In the ongoing debate about sexual assault on campus, we must remember this.

Exactly.

The current SJW propaganda amounts to saying, well, just because this one story "may not" have been true, doesn't mean that there is no "rape culture" or a "serious sexual assault problem" on college campuses, and so on.

When of course the truth is that Sabrina Rubin Erdely's article -- and the entire "rape culture" propaganda machine -- is all of a piece. The quality of "reporting" that went into "researching" Jackie's fantastical stories is the exact same quality of "reporting" that relies on false or misleading stats, hearsay, tendentious inferences, and straight up lies, to push the same narrative over and over again, both in Rolling Stone and in endless other media outlets and contexts. It's all one thing, it's all of a piece, and it's all rotten to the core.

The Rolling Stone UVa hoax IS "rape culture". It's not the exception that proves the rule; it is the rule. It is simply the most visible and examined instance of how the whole "rape culture" propaganda machine works.

RE: Rolling Stone: Brutal Rape at UVA
I can't help but think that the reason Erdely and her ilk are getting away with this egregious shit is because our society is completely incapable of believing that women tell lies. Instead, they make "mistakes".

How far we have fallen from the days of wisdom.

Good article, but 'Descent' implies she wasn't already there, long ago.

I like it DOBA.

USAJOBS.gov: Federal sexual assault prevention and response jobs

Monster.com: Sexual Assault prevention and response jobs

.

I suppose Rape Industrial Complex is worded to sound humorous, and I did use an exclamation point to make it more like a punch line. However, I think it works exactly this way. Unfortunately, I'm familiar with the DUI Industrial Complex, and it's very real. The amount of money that the DIC takes in each year is stunning, and they are aggressively seeking to increase revenues. The last thing in the world they want is an end to drunk driving. They're going to be screwed when self driving cars become the norm.

I can only imagine the Rape Industrial Complex is trying to use the same playbook.

I'm the tower of power, too sweet to be sour. I'm funky like a monkey. Sky's the limit and space is the place!

It was pre-clinical before, now it's clinical. Laugh

On the SAPR thing, last year when ISIS was in full aggro mode, this Captain shows up seemingly at random to our podunk operating base in the desert. He is instantly hated when we find out that it is his job to sit around and wait for a rape to happen. That was his primary and only function in the middle of a war. Remember the political officer from Red October? Basically like that, but with less water and more sand.
