Well see that's the thing though why on earth would you want to try to get you an average girl or low quality regular woman? Focus on the hot ones. Colombia is by far the most overrated place on the forum. That being said, the girls on the videos are in no way the best that Bogota has. Since you are used to Mexico, quality in Colombia is at least a step up, so I really doubt you will be disappointed. I also think Colombia is easier than Mexico.

I'm commenting mainly because salsa is so huge. My game here in Miami really took off after I learned to dance salsa. As a Dominican, IMO, the best latin dance clubs are in the Dominican neighborhood, where they play heavy bachata, merengue, dembow, etc. When you go to other clubs, they play Dominican music but only in short sets, like you might get a song and a half of bachata, as a result, I used to spend most of my time just in Dominican clubs.

After learning salsa, I was able to go anywhere in the city and dance with girls, and most were surprised at my ability because Dominicans have a reputation for not knowing how to dance salsa. Even now at the Dominican clubs when the DJ's play a couple of salsa tracks, I'm usually one of if not the only guy out there dancing.

Long story short, learn salsa. If a girl will dance with you, then she'll listen to you spit afterwards, especially if she enjoyed dancing with you.

In my opinion the best place in latin America to find a serious girlfriend/Wife would be at any religious college or church.

My family comes from a Seventh Day Adventist background. So for me with in that church community there is a huge net work of school/churches and universities/colleges all across the globe, especially in Latin America.

You could probably find the same for any other denomination but for me the easiest way would be to go through the Adventist channels.

At any of these religious universities/colleges you'll find the most feminine, traditional, religious girls. The majority of them are virgins. And with some good language skills and time ( staying there over 2+years) you'll be able to get a good girl who is more than qualified for wife material.

Ahhh Selena, how can I forget, she was one of a kind, a Mexican American girl from Texas who was a phenomenal talent who can make the most annoying mariachi and cumbia song sound like a violin and who can absolutely destroy in both languages equally. A lot of Hispanic stars at the time usually stuck to one language and were usually unsuccessful when they tried to make a crossover to the other language, Selena could do both no problem in any genre. Admittedly I also cried when she died and I was about 6 years old, my first crush as a small boy. Something about her just got you attached to her. Such a devastating blow for the Mexican American community and the Hispanic community as a whole. There are people still in Texas who actually remember where they were when they heard the news and had made shrines in her honor. George Bush when he was governor of Texas declared April 12th Selena Day on her birthday.

I think one of the reasons why people grew attached to her was because Latin America at the time (and still is now) was at the height of the "blonde is right and white is right" movement of telenovelas and advertising, and here comes Selena with brown skin, long black hair, a gigantic ass, and big red lips with sexy dance moves. Its as if she represented the ideal and REAL Latin look which is majorly Mestizo.

A classic from rags to riches story where she grew up dirt poor in the colonias of South Texas to being on top of the world and a classic from triumph to tragedy story. The funny thing is that she was already majorly successful in America in the Hispanic community, selling out concerts left and right without necessarily being that known outside the Hispanic community in America and was getting ready to make her English album when she was assassinated. Outside Hispanics, no one really in America knew who she was until Jennifer Lopez came along and played Selena in the movie. I still believe that that movie made Jennifer Lopez who she is today, that movie put her on the spotlight. She never would have been as famous if it wasn't for that movie in my opinion.

Anyway I can talk all day about Selena. I sometimes see videos of her from time to time to bring back some of the nostalgic memories. I can't get enough of watching her dance.

It was a damn shame they had to have Jennifer Lopez, a Boricua, play an iconic Mexican-American like Selena, I mean, a really damn shame.

But for the movie to work they needed someone with some sort of name value to play the character, and Jennifer Lopez was the biggest name.

I can talk all day about Spanish-speaking women, but I'm not the expert on Brazilian girls. I've hooked up with a couple, but never any serious relationships. I can pretty much go to any spanish club and pull because we share a language and I can dance my ass off, so for me latinas are layups, at some point, I may decide to shoot some more 3s.

I live in Miami, so it's rather easy to learn how to dance salsa here; we have all kinds of latinos here so you can learn all the different styles.

I learned the basics on my own. I used to just watch videos on Youtube, and then I practiced until I could dance by myself without even thinking about it, i.e. counting in your head. The good thing about that is since you're the lead, if you can dance alone, you can dance with a girl, because you're really just doing your movement, and you're leading her where you want her to go because that's where you want to go and she needs to respond in kind.

I also started listening to salsa all the time so I could just feel the music, it has some similar elements of bachata, but it's a faster-paced music with a lot more turning, bachata, as it's meant to be danced, is more about footwork, less turning -- I've watched some guys dance salsa and they literally just turned the girl the whole fuckin' song. The good thing about watching is that you'll notice that everybody dances differently. When you go to latin clubs where there's a majority of latinos, you won't see two couples dancing the same. You also won't see that many couples who are just amazing at dancing, most just find their little rhythm and roll with that -- most people are drunk, so they're not going to look like contestants on DWTS. As you get better, you'll notice how other people aren't that good, furthermore, you'll notice that you don't even need to be that good -- learn the basics and a few turns, and you're "good".

However, I wanted to be pretty dope, so I took a few private lessons, a few group lessons, and I took advantage of free meetups and free lessons before club nights.

I had one Cuban teacher, one Puerto Rican teacher, one Colombian teacher, and one Argentinian teacher -- of various ages. I was able to take away little things from all of them, and I developed my own style. Once you have the footwork down and you can feel the music, you can pretty much do anything and develop your own style and you don't look like someone who's taken a class and dances like a pre-programmed robot, i.e. you'll look natural when you dance.

Went to a latin club for bachata night last night and got froze out every time salsa came on. Seemed like every third song was salsa.

Looking to do a Medellin stint soon (if not Mexico or Central America). Can't get away with just knowing bachata there for night clubs.

Pity, I was just getting to like bachata and getting good enough to impress gringas and surprise Dominicanas.

It looks like they're at least dancing bachata in Medellin, so you'll be able to get some in, but this is not dancing bachata for me:





You'll notice they start the song on rhythm, but they lose it because they start doing too much turning -- they luck back into it like two minutes later into the song and then lose it again. If you watch Dominicans dance bachata, the turning is kept to a minimum because it throws the dance off.

I can't dance with a girl and just go left, right, left, right, but that chick has a little body on her, I would go Last Dragon on that ass and "Teach her some moves".

Looking for some objective opinions. It's called Sertanejo and it's from Brazil for those unfamiliar. Of course the video portrays some pros, but at least you get to see how it's done at a high level.

For the experienced Salsa, Bachata, and etc. dancers, how does it seem to compare in terms of skill level and overall.. experience?

Thanks for the info brother. I am going to take some lessons to get me started. Then I want to get out to some clubs and practice. Do you think that is realistic to go out to Latin clubs at a novice level and ask girls to dance. Or will they be like no way don't bother me unless you are really good? Or is it just about attitude?

I like the music and the steps do not seem that complicated.

I'd rather play at full-strength, again, that doesn't mean you need to become a master, like I said, learn the basics and a couple of turns and you're pretty good to go.

Just remember, every dance for a girl is a different ride, so regardless, you'll be doing your thing, and she'll be adjusting to whatever your thing is.

Jariel, virtually anywhere south of San Antonio will you find fine ass mexicanas. Corpus Christi, Kingsville, McAllen, Brownsville, Kileen, Eagle Pass, and even west in El Paso. The only downside is that this area of the country is very economically deprived and a lot of the cities are small. On top of that the highest obesity rates in the country are in the Rio Grande Valley area. But out in the bars and the night scene there are a lot of fine women, you just have to weed out the fat ones.

With the rising dollar and weak economy, the cost of living in second tier Spanish cities like Sevilla, Malaga, Valencia etc. should be comparable to Latin America. Conservative Spanish girls make good girlfriends and wives. As an added bonus, if you do wife one up, you get EU residency.

I looove Spanish women. They have beautiful features. Have been to Spain four times and have a few friends in Madrid and Barcelona. It seems though, that Spain is going the way of the EU and the rest of western europe. The women are still attractive, noticeably more in-shape, feminine, and fashionable than American women, but I've nonetheless encountered a lot of feminist attitudes and secular values in the women. I've noticed the shift from when I first went there as an exchange student in the late 90s, and can see the difference between the younger millenial women versus the older Spanish women, just like I see the difference in American millenials vs gen-xers and baby boomers. Noticeable decay. 90% of Spain still "identifies" as Catholic Christian, but anyone who has spent some time there will see that religion only plays a cultural/historical role at best amongst most Spaniards. It's not as way-gone as Netherlands or Sweden, but I sense finding a traditional/religious woman in Spain would be more challenging than Mexico or other parts of Latin America where you can still find lots of conservative Catholic (and Protestant) women who are not tainted with the liberal/secular values that Spain is now sadly getting infected with.

Guys who step up to strangers and prove they can't dance, usually get left during the song, at best, they'll get the one song, a fake "thank you", and that's it -- not good if you were actually hoping to get at the chick.

I'd rather play at full-strength, again, that doesn't mean you need to become a master, like I said, learn the basics and a couple of turns and you're pretty good to go.


Just remember, every dance for a girl is a different ride, so regardless, you'll be doing your thing, and she'll be adjusting to whatever your thing is.
