I have been in Cali for a month now and I have seen a general deteroration in womans attitudes, compared to when I was here last September.
As we all know, Colombian woman are flakey and for the most part disengenous. I have seen it all here. But, smart phones and easy internet access has brought out it all out, to a higher degree. They get too much male attention now from all corners.
Returned to Cali and wanted to buy a house and land to build apartments, but Im not so happy here anymore. I was in Medellin also, for a week, and flaking seems at record levels.
That doesnt mean I havent gotten decent results. Colombia is still the best country, I have seen, where an over 35 man, can still bang 18 to 21 yr olds hot girls, on the regular. Just that it isnt as easy or pleasurable as before, especially with the 23 to 29s.
I know some white guys wont agree with me because there are always gringo groupies who make it seem otherwise.
But based on the data sheets, Peru is better now for the typical gringo.
Though Barranquilla and the Colombia Coast might be the exception.

I also see a trend that 2nd tier cities are not what they were before, specially in latin america. Capitals are not worse anymore.

Atlantic, 6 girls in 3 weeks isnt a bad run. Just that there was a pleasure in being with Colombian girls, that has diminished. It all has to do with ROI and also with being fluent in Spanish...so you can capture the nuances of the changes.
But yes, Bogota seems more attractive to me now than before and Barranquilla as well.

Social media, smart phones, tinder. Where they go quality drops. The colombian girls now have access to unlimited attention (social media) and dick (tinder) 24/7. chochemonger1, I agree that things have changed greatly in MDE and Cali. I remember years ago walking through a mall in Cali and getting eye-fucked by half the girls. Bogota being the capital and being so large may not be as noticeable these changes. The country is also much more stable and prosperous than 10 years ago, that has to affect things.

Yes, I am working on two 8s now in Cali....3 dates and there is no guarantee that I will bang them. I dont remember before ever going on 3 dates with a Colombian girl, in any city.

Also, I was in Quito,for a week, before Cali, and it seems Ecuador is in a better economic situation than Colombia...more optimism and vibrancy....which was the opposite 5 or 6 years ago.
Though in the end, Colombian and Brazilian girls will always be,in our lifetime, the best that latin america has to offer.

But I have to disagree on the notion that Ecuador is in a better situation than Colombia economically. Yes, Ecuador benefits a ton from using the almighty US dollar, but by every world bank metric, Colombia is a better place to do business. See the new 2015 Ease of Doing Business Index the world bank released. Colombia actually topped Chile and Peru.

All over New York City, there is a big ad campaign pumping for Colombia as a) place to invest in and b) a place to which you can outsource your IT and client support.
And anecdotally, I recently was in contact with some Ecuadorian businessmen who were very frustrated by Correa's socialist policies as well as the corruption that plagues the government.

Since I am deciding between the two countries as my next medium-term destination, motivated more by business than women, I would love to hear your own anecdotes about pessimism in Colombia, or observations of negative economic indicators in Colombia, or of positive ones in Ecuador.

I'm sure tinder and other dating apps are contributing some, but we must share some of the blame.

It's probably not a popular opinion to have here, but with all the pumping and dumping we and other tourists are doing it's going to make the girls skeptical and increase the number of dates.

The word has spread that foreigners are here for sex. My current girl's dad told her to be careful with me because all foreigners just want sex and he's based in a city far off the tourist path. Medellin is full of guys just looking for sex. The girls aren't stupid and have figured us out.

Obviously the slutty girls don't care, but the good girls are going to make you wait and will need some comfort game. If you seem like a player they might reject you after many dates. I'm more relationship oriented, so it hasn't really affected me. 3 dates isn't a big deal for me and I don't think I give off a player vibe because I really do like a lot of these girls.

As for sluts acting like good girls, I've seen that too, but it's usually the older girls (25+) when they're looking to catch a husband.

Coche you're not the first Colombia vet who I've heard saying the same thing over the past couple of months, things have definitely changed in the city and likely all over the country. The shitty behaviour is more common among the girls online but unfortunately, Cali isn't a great night game city (the worst between it, Bogota and Medellin) and day game options are limited, so most guys, myself included, lean towards online game in that city. Over the past five months that I've been in the country, I didn't really game much, I think I developed game related PTSD from chasing girls online in Medellin last year, fortunately I have a couple of girls in Cali and the Coffee Zone who have kept me entertained during my stay.

I've seen guys mention flaking, taking multiple dates, and jealousy, which don't really strike me as "bad attitude". Also, I think online is a whole other beast regardless of where in the world you're at.

Are the girls actually unpleasant to be around or do they just require more effort to be around?

When I think of bad attitudes, I think of girls being annoying little cunts, not taking extra dates to put out.

Do you find that as your Spanish has gotten better maybe the 'ignorance is bliss' effect has worn off. I don't doubt what you are saying its just that since September last year seems like a very small space of time for general attitudes to change.

This is an excellent point. And a lot of us are frequenting the same areas, using the same apps and running up some ridiculous notch counts. Plus we are just one forum amongst a sea of travelers.

While we have good game there are lots that don't and leave places with a bad reputation. El mechanico is right - thirst is becoming global.

This is a problem all over the world. Low-value guys are able to increase their value through pictures and magically have the courage to flirt online.

Bogota has always been the easiest place to get laid for me in Colombia, although I've only been there and to Medellin, Cali, and Cartagena - never to Barranquilla.

If you want to get laid easily, just go to San Salvador, Managua, Tegucigalpa, etc. Those places are easy with Spanish and aren't over-saturated with American sex tourists banging 5's and 6's.

I've been connecting in San Salvador once or twice a month and I always see a whole bunch of 20 year-old American-looking guys boarding flights to Cali and Medellin. Probably going to 'learn Spanish' or something.

I was in Cali for several weeks in June and July of last year and again in December and January. I was also in Medellin for several months from June until December last year and am here again now. I speak basically fluent Spanish and I haven't noticed any change in that time period. With that said, I don't doubt it will continue to get worse as more tourists visit.

Could it be that you have earned a reputation in whatever areas you frequent or whatever sites you use?

This year I am going to give Barranquilla and Asuncion, Paraguay a real try. I was set to live in Cali 6 months of the year and buy a house,but Im not so sure anymore.
Also good ole Brazil is calling me back...probably will try Salvador de Bahia and Campinas. Things are so fluid, now with regards to countries and cities. Makes it diificult to pick a city and settle down.

Got my "cedula de extranjeria" today which allows me to stay 2 years in Colombia as a resident and open a bank account and buy property. Got the cedula by first getting my Mercosur visa,in the Colombian consulate in Quito.

I didn't mean to imply that the shitty behaviour is rampant among the online girls, but it does exist, especially in the online dating scene in Medellin. As Newgame pointed out, Colombian girls know that a lot of gringos come down to chase pussy and there's quite a few girls who act accordingly, namely by trying to squeeze foreign guys for free shit with no intentions of putting out. It happened to me before I smartened up where a girl comes out, often with a friend and you end up paying for it and getting nothing out of it, now that I know how to avoid those situations, it doesn't happen so often. Probably the worst story I've heard of late was when a forum member set up a date in Medellin with a chick who wanted to bring her friend, another member winged him and they went out for dinner and drinks, then to a bar for some cocktails. Later in the night the girls both excused themselves to go to the restroom and of course, they never showed back up, so they had free food and drinks all on that guys tab. As far as the flaking goes, I consider it bad behaviour, some guys try to lessen the chances of flaking by double or triple booking dates, but I'd rather not date in a city where I have to put in that much effort just to get a girl to come out for a drink. Medellin is the worst for that so I stopped dating in the city and have had much better luck elsewhere and as I mentioned above, I've kept a couple of steady girls on the go and my life has been less stressful.

I remember this one time I was in Mangos in Medellin on a Saturday. There was a group of girls with two guys, one Puerto Rican guy in his 30s or 40s and one older guy who wasn't Puerto Rican, Colombian, or American. He may have been from Italy. These guys obviously paid for these girls to get in, bought them bottles, etc. They then told these guys that they were leaving, took them outside, and said goodbye to them. After those guys left in taxis, they went back inside, where they had someone watch their bottles, and basically partied on those guys' dime. They were hi fiving each other because of how listas they were. I'm not really impressed by Colombians, but one of those girls was really great looking for a Colombian. I danced with her and she was a really good dancer for a Paisa. She gave me her number, but no way in hell was I calling her. This, and stuff worse than this, is the kind of stuff that happens if you're not careful.
