Those Aldos have been extremely durable, I've basically put them through hell. I've had them for several years and gotten serious wear in nightclubs and bars. It's just the outside that's gotten scuffed up but even that contributes to a nice "weathered" look that's in style in the city.

I bought a pair or $120 Aldo shoes when I was entering a two year period where I ceased to have spare cash for luxuries. They ended up lasting the full two years as the shoes I wore every day and are still wearable. They may looking like they've been to hell and back, but they are still totally functional.

I highly endorse Aldo. Good quality for the price.

Daltons are sweet; really the only AEs I would buy now.

Not an Alden fan, their shoes are clunky to me but I love their cordovan boots.

Can hardly go wrong with Mark Nasons for gaming purposes, have gotten so many compliments from girls on my pairs.

I rock a pair of these in this color. It's pretty distinct and the cherry red goes with more stuff than I would have originally believed. They came with a pair of yellow laces, but I'm kinda ambivalent about changing out the black ones...might look too McDonaldsy.



Earlier in the fall, I bought a pair of Steve Madden Nash boots. Quality is sub-par (I've had to take a lighter to remove some of the Irish Pennants) and the leather is relatively thin, but they were less than $100 and I usually wear wool socks and use leather care kits on both pairs.

Wondering if I should pull the trigger on a pair of Chukkas/Desert boots.

These look fantastic when I tried them on, but they have no tread. I live where you need tread for days when its snowy and icy, which is most of the winter. Since you're pretty knowledgeable, and I am a huge fan of your Instagram, how do you recommend getting these boots treaded in order to wear as a winter dress boot?

After mulling over this for a while, I settled on these, the Cole Haan Lenox Hill Chelsea Boot. They do look fantastic, but the heel needs tread too, as I was slipping and sliding all over the place last week.

Clean them with water and vinegar, they're as good as new.

Clark's are a personal favorite, and that color and black are the two I buy every so often for winter and non-winter season.

Can't speak for this individual boot, but I've owned a few leather soled shoes.

Snow: they slip like fuck, but so does anything that's flat on the sole.

Rain: they wear down about 3x as fast.

Some leather soles let water in, some don't, this is dependant on construction techniques.

I got those. Real quality stuff made in Italy. They also have a nice weather-proof Vibram sole. You won't slip 'n slide.

Wreck, are you based in Germany? If so, check out the store I bought them from. Great products and service.

I used to have a pair of Red Wings that I loved like a son. Really high quality boot, yeah they're $200-300 but they'll last years.

I like these Fryes. These run about $300 but I picked up mine last year on sale at Amazon for $170. It's a good idea to watch Amazon, they'll put stuff on steep discount randomly.


These Clarks Chukkas arrived the other day. I don't know if I love them yet, I wore them around the house for 30 minutes and decided they'd do. Just waterproofed them tonight, should be ready to go tomorrow.



If you're going to buy nice boots, you have to have to have to get a good waterproofer. I use a Clarks product that has the downside that it darkens the leather quite a bit, but it's very good at sealing the leather.

I wonder if there's a way to put Amazon links in that would automatically put on Roosh's store ID. Be an easy way to support the board.

I just waxed my Clark's Desert Boots. Damn that was long overdue. Gave them a nice tanned beeswax colour and I really love the refreshing look it gave them. If you guys have some beat up CDB's I definitely recommend giving them a waxin'!

I am guilty of buying drab boots in the past.

Took a shot with ordering these online, had a gift card at Nordstrom's and these looked like they actually stood out.

Catepillar Abe Boots (Oxblood)


I think the key will be to wear them with tappered and tightly rolled up and cuffed jeans to show off the two-tone contrast.

I am really adverse to red shoes in general for the clown affect, after looking at enough photos I think that the these will look very dark cherry in person. The charcoal canvas ankle material and walnut soles help tone down the Oxblood a bit and I think they will fade with time.

I also see avoiding wearing them with blue jeans, in my experience plum, or dark cherry shoes contrasts in a bad way against blue jeans.

Black, dark grey, burnt out light light grey, or pop khaki color jeans I think all would work better.

We'll see.

Yes they are. Just picked up my first pair.



   


Never pulled the trigger due to cost, but my last pair was destroying my knees and back. The Red Wings are easily in my top three best work boots. The BOA laces are cool as shit. I can just reach down and pop the ratchet to loosen them up. This is mad convenient as the weather is heating up in Texas, and I loosen them up to cool off my feet while driving. Plus they came with an extra BOA lace. When asking the cute saleslady what do do with it, she replied, " you can strangle someone that pisses you off". I love Texas girls.
