Cool thread! I'll be watching it closely.

Out of curiosity, how are you finding these deals? Are you altering Google search algorithms?

Also, can you find deals between Australia and Asia?

Can you get deals on premium economy and business class?

Most flights with very low promotional prices, in the 100 $ - 250 $ range
which are available now are for flights from airports in California, Florida, Las Vegas and New York City.

I didn´t find anything at reasonable prices from Texas.

I can only tell you when and where the best deals are,
and you do the reservations yourself, on
different major airlines company websites.

I only save you lots of hours of searching, I cannot use the travel agency
where I work for making the reservations for you.

4 flights on 4 different dates
from Los Angeles LAX to Europe are available
for $ 170 - $ 190 , in October 2015, but not exactly on October 30th.

Check PM for details of the flights.

I am using the software of my travel agency, which searches
for the promotional deals in all hotels and all airlines
that exist in US, Europe and Asia.

RE: How to get flights from California or U.S. to Europe for $ 200
interesting thread. Gonna keep an eye on it.

My personal method for finding cheap flights, although not as effective as yours, is the following:

1. if you already know where to go, look for flights in advance (min. 2 months)

2. go on the official website of the airport you're travelling to

3. look for the list of airlines operating at that airport

4. go on the website of each company and search the flight

5. choose the cheapest option

If you want to fly in May, June or July prices are lower:

From Calgary, Halifax and Toronto (Canada), at around $ 290

From Vancover and Whitehorse (Canada) at around $ 370

While for flights in September, right now
from Toronto to Germany and then to London is about $ 450
which is too high in my opinion.

But if somehow in September you get to New York or to Florida,
flights from there are only around $ 160 to Europe

It needs a travel agency license confirmation each time you start it,
and if someone else is trying to access it, from outside a travel agency,
it will not work.

If anyone in the world would be able to access easily all the work
of any travel agency, and everything that travel agencies have access to,
how would hundreds of thousands of travel agencies
still exist in our world, how would they get any clients at all?

But if you want to read gossips and secrets that "travel agencies
don´t want you to know", here it is something for you:

I'm calling bullshit on this thread. He's just using his special software to find super cheap flights on random dates. Anyone with enough time can find those random flights. Ask him to find super cheap fares on specific dates or even somewhat close dates.

Just scroll down and look at the routes and prices. 30 seconds and I just found a $460 round trip JFK-PEK while sitting on the shitter.

$394 direct flight JFK to Cartagena on Jetblue. I would all over that, if I had the time.

Why are you calling bullshit? Is that not EXACTLY what he said he's doing?

He's being helpful, if you'd rather search for flights yourself do that.

The thread title is misleading. I clicked it with high hopes and was disappointed.
It should read "I might be able to find you flights from California or U.S. to Europe for $ 200 on random dates, PM me. Although if you have Kayak and 5mins you can find them yourself."

He is just trying to help. He is trying to give back in some way. Cut him some slack. I don't see a lot of guys offering help people out in some way on this forum. It seems like some people are getting some benefit of out of it, or at least being introduced to some options. It isn't perfect, most things are not. Sorry you lost 5 to 10 minutes of your life if you didn't think this thread was worth your time. I may be off here, but I am sensing that some people are overreacting a bit.

Exactly. I would caution people to be tight with their personal info on here, but otherwise, even if this is information that people could get otherwise, I think it still serves the purpose of opening people's eyes to travel. Maybe it's not as expensive or pie in the sky as you thought before and more of us will travel.

RE: How to get flights from California or U.S. to Europe for $ 200
So if I understand it correct using search engines that are available to the public to automatically find cheaper dates to travel, isn't so good. But if you have lots of time to search for tickets yourself and you try different dates to fly out and return the result and the price would be more or less the same as if you have access to this travel agency ticketing system?

If you buy a ticket through one of the many online travel agents and you buy an intercontinental ticket for let's say US$500, how much of that money does the travel agent usually keep to themselve?

Is there any good way to get reasonable rates on one way tickets without having to fly low cost? Oftentimes you don't know in advance when to return. Change fees on cheaper tickets are often expensive and one way tickets aren't cheap either.

RE: How to get flights from California or U.S. to Europe for $ 200
I usually check skyscanner.com or their android app and choose option "whole month". It then lines up all the days of the month and the cheapest airlines those days. When I find a cheap price, I go to the airlines website and look for possibilties for even better deals.

Got me some pretty cheap flights this way. Even better when you have lots of free time like me (no real job). If I can save (a couple of) hundred dollars by making one more stop I do.

For example, saving 150$ by one extra stop of 8 hours is like making 19$ dollars an hour by sitting on your ass in an airport reading a book or working on your laptop.

Bring sandwiches from home and drink tapwater for the real scrooges. I usually "splurge" on some airport fast food. Usually 5 to 10 dollars for a whole meal.

This might seem trivial for two week holidayers but if you're always making long trips like me, who cares if you have wait a bit. I also kinda enjoy watching people at airports. It has a certain kind of buzz.

Sure you can use the online search engines for flights too. Each search engine
does have the databases from some airlines companies, which pay them
a share or a fixed cost per click
for each redirection made from their search engine,
to the airline company. Of course most of these search engines will show
only the flights for which they also get a share.

This thread is about cheap flights usually under or around 200 $
between Europe and U.S.

Not about flights between JFK and Beijing, China PEK
priced at $ 460... though

Sky scanner does not have the flights from all the airline companies,
many big airlines are missing from their results,
but sky scanner is indeed a very popular tool

^^^ Yeah, a stopover is definitely good for that if the country is visa free. It should be by daytime though and you should be able to put your bags/suitcase in storage. I had a few nightly stopovers but that's not worth the hassle with taxis especially when the airport is far away from the center.

If you're absolutely certain you can save a lot of guys money here, why don't you set up some kind of business here on the forum via pm. Forum'ers ask you for the best deal, you find it for them and charge them 25$ on a 'no cure/no pay' base. I'm sure lots of guys here wouldn't mind paying 25$ to save hundreds, me included. You just make a screenshot of the best deal you can find regarding dates and places. No bookings, just a screenshot and a paypal payment. Easiest money you'l make while working at your job. That's a double pay day.

If this works well, send me a 100$ for the tip. I need new shoes Smile

Reservations now for flights in 2015, the lowest prices to fly to Europe (under 200 $)
are for departures from Californian airports (both San Francisco and Los Angeles),
from New York City (predictably) and from Florida airports.

Nope to all three. I've been to little known countries as Brunei (Asia), Guyana (South America) and Transnistria (Eastern Europe) but I'm ashamed to say that I never set foot in Italy or England (besides Heathrow airport).
Europe has nearly 50 countries. It's hard to see them all but I'll give it a try. Wish I started travelling sooner though.
