Does the script run on your pc or on a server remotely?

What some are y'all are posting is really interesting. Never put thought into logging on every hour.

Indeed, iMacros used to run well on Okcupid and POF along with match. But those sites updated their design and added a bunch of JS making iMacros unusable.

My one runs on my own PC on Windows. It can run on a server if needed. I've just thought of a workaround which may (or may not) fix the message text it needs further tinkering with. There are various ways of making it also seem not automated by making the script sleep for random intervals between girls and you only work on those girls.

Some of this conversation may be well better served in a private forum.

What is seriously frustrating about online dating is the amount of time needed to be put in to those original messages, while women don't even have to browse they just login in and wait for the messages to come through. I used to spend hours sending messages out and lining up many dates but our time is much better served doing other things.

Sending out automated messages to girls completely changes the dynamic for online dating as it's a completely zero loss scenario. You message the girls as first message automatically based on some predefined search criteria, if they are half curious they message you back.

Anyone got a link to a YouTube video or something that quickly explains an introduction to using selenium to do stuff like this? I have decent programming experience, just look long for a jumping off point to play around with it. I'm at work or I would search for it myself. Appreciate it

My messages get a good reply rate. It's just difficult for me to do it every 25 hours as I don't have a set "out" time.

I'll send you some of my messages via pm later on so you can try them out. I've been fine tuning them through many years.

One option I forgot about that might be good is Selenium IDE for Firefox: http://www.seleniumhq.org/docs/02_selenium_ide.jsp

All the power of selenium but less coding. It's been a while but IIRC you can record a script and then run it like a macro.

Also the Selenium WebDriver doc page has a short tutorial that offers 6 different languages: http://www.seleniumhq.org/docs/03_webdri...by-example

The trick in all this would be to figure out how to ID the html elements you need to trigger. Chrome WebDev console is my go-to for this. I'm not sure why selenium hasn't built a chrome extension, that would be the bomb.

It would be an advantage to be able to run on a remote server like an EC2 instance. Any company worth a shit has an InfoSec/Ops group looking for suspicious activity from an IP and shutting it down.

Agreed. I don't do online dating but I'm kinda interested in this as a tech problem, so anybody feel free to PM me and we can trade ideas.

What about using task scheduler on Windows 7/8?

Someone mentioned using Chron along with a pod in Digital Ocean, which is a site that has mini servers for 5 bucks a month.

Will explore options as my time to send messages is limited.
