I've taken HGW. It's expensive and I don't think it's worth the money. For me, Maca seemed to work better, but honestly you're talking tiny boosts for a fair bit of money. I think Zinc makes a decent difference, it's cheap, and it seems like it really does help with immune function as well, which to me is an even bigger deal. I'd rather hit life not dealing with whatever crud is going around, the sex drive is a bonus.

Are you getting zinc oxide or another zinc compound? I am thinking if it is the same as with magnesium where the mg oxide is worthless, and mg citrate is the real deal.

I've taken it for the last 3 days, also 30mg and I am having the exact same results. I woke up early 3 days in a row and couldn't get back to sleep, I didn't think anything of it until I read this.. I guess it is the zinc.

Yeah, your theory is backed by a scientific study from 2013. I've switched from 30mg oxide to 30mg citrate, but to be honest I've noticed no improvements from when I was taking the Zinc Oxide. I believe I have high enough gastric acid production to absorb the oxide sufficiently.

Zinc Absorption by Young Adults from Supplmental Zinc Citrate is Comparable with that from Zince Gluconate and Higher than from Zinc Oxide

I started to take it at night for 2 reasons:

I take 100 mg at night as well.

At the same time as D and Magnesium,

It really does help me get a better nights sleep. Plus I've been having some crazy, really vivid dreams when taking it right before bed.

I don't think that it is counter productive to take it the morning, I just prefer it at night. I've noticed my sleep is a bit deeper. I take 100 mg 1-2 hours before I go to sleep.

Fuck, I've been taking 25mg of zinc gluconate for the past two weeks and I'm gettin that horrible dry metallic taste in my mouth.

It works alright , slightly increased energy, huge random bonäirs during the day ( Doesn't help of you work in construction)

Does the optizinc minimize the metallic taste since it is a different form of zinc?

Thank me later

RE: Zinc has made me a better man.
Anyone have experiences with the zinc from myprotein? I am thinking about ordering these pills:

Zinc (L-Monomethionin) 30 mg
Magnesium 450 mg
Vitamin B6 11 mg
Copper 1,5 mg

http://www.myprotein.com/sports-nutritio...1432676946

Can anyone tell me if they are legit? Somehow the nutritional information is different if I change the country from Germany to UK.

Alternative would be the L Opti Zinc from iherb. They are cheaper but contain less copper and no magnesium/Vitamin B6

Yes. Haven't had that with Opti.

Your spinning your wheels using bad quality zinc, you have to pair it with copper at the very least.

I take copper separately from the zinc. Too much zinc screws with your levels of copper.

I've been taking a zinc supplement for 4 days now.

Positives:
- Focus, frequent boners, easy to sleep at night

Negatives:
- Really dry mouth, somewhat frequent headaches

Do the headaches/ dry mouth go away?

Tried 30mg for the past few weeks. Felt alright and a bit more energetic, but nothing great.

Upped it to 90mg last night. Tons more energy today, motivated, and horny--look forward to seeing if it continues.

I've been taking 50mg of Zinc for 3 days now. I can second the positive effects. No negatives so far.

RE: Zinc has made me a better man.
Reading this thread was very helpful for me.

When I made the zinc test two weeks ago, I didn't feel a dry or metallic taste (This test confirmed I was extremely zinc deficient)
Later I bought a bottle of zinc gluconate from Solgar (50 mg, 100 tablets) from a local health store.

Some thoughts:

- I'm taking 50 mg of zinc every day (100mg every other day)
- I take my zinc tablets after the breakfast and the dinner. If I take zinc with my stomach empty I get diarrhea.
- Don't take zinc with coffee. It will fuck your stomach.
- My sleep patterns are slowly returning to normal levels.
- My balls are getting big
- My boners were very weak before taking the zinc. Now they are getting stronger.
- Renewed interest in young women.
- Mass production of cum.
- I'm remembering again my dreams like in my teens/early twenties.
- Reinforced self confidence.
- I'm feeling more masculine and energetic.
- The brain fog has disappeared notoriously.
- Improved mental focus.
- Negativity is slowly being replaced with positivism.

Today I made again the zinc test and I felt a dry taste. I'll take 100mg of zinc this week to get more improvements (specially getting my testosterone levels high).

Not directly in answer, but as far as I am concerned, oral magnesium is bullshit, whatever form you take.

This is anecdotal, but I used to have a bizarre skin condition on my lower back. It looked like the skin on lightning strike survivors, but it did not itch or hurt in any way. For about 8 years specialist doctors were non-plussed and nothing changed it, steroidal creams, moisturizing creams, nothing.

It's important to note that some time later, I was taking oral magnesium citrate, 30mg daily, with no effect on the skin.

I started using magnesium oil, which is MgCl in a 40% solution rubbed onto the skin after showering. Within a week, the skin was completely normal.

If you think you may be Mg deficient, and don't want to deal with diarrhea (all forms of magnesium are laxatives, and citrate is actually used as high potency laxative), I would strongly recommmend transdermal magnesium.
