We did a simulation like this in groups in high school. The first thing I made my team buy was Playboy stock. I also lost tens of thousands of dollars.

Hah, back to high school we all used to play this online trading game called Fatdogexchange.

It was pretty fun and the 'stocks' we traded were celebrities. Was very active funnily enough and I would not be surprised if the makers went on to making bigger trading online games.

Ha. Did this last year. Lost $40,000 in 9 months and finished dead last out of 100 people, despite being one of only 3 people involved to stay current with the markets. Fake money leads to unrealistically risky trading patterns

Just a 10 week time frame is much too short - investment performance over that period would just be random "noise". IMHO is should be at least for 1 year so we can see who has actual investing skills.

I think it should be long term as well... I'm sure there's very few of us doing day trading on a regular basis and most of people prefer longer term investments
