I thought that some of you guys may be interested in watching this Canadian produced, new six part mini-series starring Cuba Gooding Jr. which recently premiered on the CBC and will soon be aired in the USA on BET. It is based on the 2007 novel by Lawrence Hill, a fictitious story of an African slave living in the USA who is granted freedom by the British crown and eventually arrives in Nova Scotia and from there emigrates to Sierra Leone. It is based on historical events and today there are historic black communities, "indigenous blacks" in my home province but their history is largely untold, the book and this CBC mini-series sheds light on an interesting story and I look forward to watching it.

Yeah it streams ok in canada.

I started watching this series and i'm kinda glad it's not terrible like 12 years a slave...

They should have instead made a TV series about the Moorish slave trade.

I get it. I'm a horrible person, because I share my race with some guys who had slaves. My ancestors weren't even in the country back then, but, you know, it's still my fault.

If you think that's ridiculous, think about how ridiculous it is when SJWs expect ALL whites to feel guilty, e.g. Russians who probably saw the first person sometime in 1950.

Did we watch the same trailer because I didn't see all the anti-White bigotry that you did.

There were only two White people in it who had 0 speaking lines.

It's hard to depict the plantation in the antebellum South without mentioning Black slave and White slave-master, you know?

Edit: Dammit, can't watch it in the US. Gotta find a torrent.

The anti-white sentiment is present in every modern slavery production. It's also a lazy way to get good ratings. 12 Years a Slave got good ratings because if you said you didn't like it, people would just come back and say "what are you, a fucking racist?"

Hm that logic fails because if I were White, I could say I liked the movie publicly but never pay to watch it. Enough people do that then the movie flops no matter how many stars it gets. Hollywood then stops making slave films, the end.

Black people boycotted "Birth of a Nation", why didn't Whites do that with "12 Years" if it demonized them?

Some of my Black friends say the movie was anti-Black because of the kidnapping, drugging, and whippings in the movie. I think Hollywood is creating those slave movies ambiguously so that Whites and Black will both feel they're getting race-trolled when watching.
