Started giggling as soon as I opened
Sort of botched opening field report here. Want input on interpreting fucking giggling.

I'm riding my racing bike on the bike path along the Sacramento river today near the university, it's just beautiful, very hot, dry and still, near sunset, giant, lush trees are amber-lit from the low-hanging sun and the river almost imperceptibly throbs under its glassy surface.

I was so struck I just stopped and stared at the water for a couple minutes.

So I am back on the city streets in a trance and riding slow, I hear someone behind me and a young woman passes.

She gets caught at a stop light and I catch up. She has a decent bike with a milk crate on the back in to which she's put her brightly colored backpack.

I was really relaxed and confident from exercising and opened her with what I was actually thinking at the moment.

"Getting out of class?"

She's about 26, or a sun damaged 23 maybe. I look mid-forties, it's hard to tell with cycling helmet and sunglasses on.

And she starts GIGGLING. She also answered yes, and it wasn't continuous giggling like something was wrong, it was kind of intermittent like she was all excited or something.

I'm looking at her and despite all the rating debate stuff I'll try to offer a hotness range-- to you picky Maxim lovers, a 6, to me an 8 -- big blue eyes, nice skin, athletic, casual dress instead of lounge lizard shit consumer oriented high-heels, nice teeth, and SMILING AND OPEN (+++), a little horsefaced, but I thought she was really likable and open and SHE PICKED UP THE CONVERSATION AND MADE SOME EFFORT (+++)

But I don't know what to make of the damn giggling.

I actually sounded pretty articulate, talked about how relaxing it was when it was hot, asked her if she liked hot weather, talked about how the trees were "shimmering." My tone of voice was good, didn't talk too fast, was relaxed from riding.

But she just had the fucking giggles. Again, not to the point where I thought there was something really odd about my appearance, she was just-- nervous or something?

I hate to sound stupid, but I went home and was looking in the mirror at myself in my bike helmet and fancy sunglasses and I don't think I looked THAT odd.

What is going on? Is that a sure sign they're in heat or something?

I bailed because I was not in the mood for phone numbers, I've got to psych myself up and get logistics going for instadating-- it would have been way better to try to convince her to go for an ice cream-- there are places within close range from where we were and it's way quicker to get the BS out of the way.

I kind of think I blew it but I need to learn better what is going on when they act like that.

She reminded me of this really dumb girlfriend I had who was always DTF, I could tell her about other girls and she was still down, like an idiot I neglected her for an cold 8.5 who blew me off. The 8.5 actually told me once she only wanted sex once a week and she was 22.

All my life I've had friends who tell me "That chick was really into you" and that even though I just ask stupid questions they are just opening up to me and I am totally missing it. I am really basically naive and trusting so maybe they spot a good Beta victim haha. But if it's true I should PLAY the victim not BE it.

Not saying this is the case, but never hurts to remember that randomness and girls are synonyms.

If I was to stop, think, try and figure all the times girls gave me random, non-congruent, plainly schizo behaviour, I'd be grey-haired by now...

... thinking of which, as I happen to have no hair, that might have actually been somewhat the case...

just saying.

To put it frankly

They think you are a joke and you are amusing them with some perceived negative quality.

There is a FEW times where it can be non disrespectful and they are just "gitty" and giggle in nervous situations. This si rare though.....

Dash I think you're usually right-- my idea is maybe then one should just vacuum in the face of giggling-- stop talking and see what she does.

If she really thinks you're a joke, she'll probably bail and just matter-of-fact take off without much of a goodbye; because she's thinking "HE can't possibly be thinking I'll go for him..."

If she makes a real effort to keep convo going, then maybe she's just high on life and ripe.

As far as PhD-- not exactly, but even if I did have one even Freud said he couldn't figure out what women wanted!! As one poster said, they're not rational or stable. Although Mr. Hero Macho Alpha is the most desired guy, they also can go nuts for funny guys too.

I think Roosh has correctly said you can't ever really figure out what's in their heads, the only thing that matters if they'll do what you want, and I didn't test for that so it's moot.

To further break it down, men have a linear perceive-feel-think-do chain-- SEE a hot chick, WANT her, THINK of something to say or do, then ACT somehow to get her. With women the order is all fucked up, they may REACT rather than do goal oriented action, then backwards justify-- for example she may SEE a guy looking at her, SMILE at him without knowing why, then RATIONALIZE by thinking he's funny, WONDER why he's funny...it's all a confusing mess but they get a lot because they're hot-- for about 3000 days.

I was asking a female friend how to tell if a waitress was flirting because she was smiling etc. Her answer kind of shocked me: "SHE might not even know."

Maybe she was just high? Who knows... I wouldn't waste my time looking into it that much. You should start reframing things so that there's something wrong with them not you!

Even if you have to lie to yourself at first, eventually you'll start believing it.

This might be very lame, or a half way decent idea, but re-frame by quoting the old Goodfellas line, "What like a clown I amuse you?!" Say it real serious, just like in the movie, then smirk it off. Its a variant of agree an amplify and if you genuinely make her laugh you could probably ride the initial wave of "oh this guy" into real attraction. Thoughts?

This is usually a defence mechanism, most often because you said something unexpected that she doesn't know how to immediately respond to. With regard to the approach it doesn't really mean anything. You can choose to ignore it or verbalize how she appears to have a good time in your company. Either way it's a minor minor point and not an event that should really change anything you do.

(Mainly refereeing to sets / groups of girls that are together and not alone)

These girls are not 11. They know what there doing. Its a form of childish / immature disrespectful behavior 85% of the time.

Older girls when shy are very reserved and standoffish, not some giggling pre-teen.

Young kids giggle when their shy and ish. Grown women dont do that shit because they are "shy"..........

There is a difference between smiling and giggling / laughing.

I think there's a way to play off the energy, but the important thing is find out if she's DTF, or at least have an adventure of some kind.
Difficult women remain difficult, but the ones that are ready to go-- well, let's say I don't want to BE as stupid as I LOOK!!

Hate to brag, but I may just be hot right now, and it's just exquisite in Sacramento right now. The dry, languid heat is like a drug. I was in a convenience store today and the Pakistani girl clerking there just couldn't hold still while I was talking to her, and she was almost bursting with eagerness to hear what I had to say.

Sometimes things just come together and everything just works so well it's sort of shocking.

Now to learn to take advantage of it!!! IN THE NOW. I've got to have some prepackaged routines to instadate with a fall-back to phone, because sometimes
girls are just wide-eyed and waiting for you to do something, and it kind of bowls me over.

Cool!

Sort of an off-topic conversation here, but...

I've done some intern work on the mental health area, I'm a psychology undergrad... just cool to know that there's someone in the field around these parts...

Ok, enough disruptions!

The only time a girl starting giggling at me was when they were stoned outta their mind. You are in Cali, everyone is on something out there. I'd strike it up as a drug induced incident.

Exactly! Its a passive/aggressive diss-of a particularly childish type I might add.

It's all personality. You guys need to stop generalizing. There are plenty of normal girls out there with bubbly personalities that are constantly doing that shit. I had classes with half a dozen of them in college and they haven't changed. Though, I think a few of them turned out to be lesbians. Go figure.

Id say pay attention to her eyes, if they're rolling or she's constantly looking away then the giggle is not a good thing. If she's making good eye contact and giggling then its probably just her being bubbly/shy/awkward

In my experience approaching, any sort of giggling/laughing up front is bad. In my approaches that have gone well, the women give me their full attention. They only laugh when something I say warrants a laugh or giggle.

When women giggle/laugh when I approach, it is usually because they are mocking me in some way. In fact, I hate when that happens because it's humiliating. It means I'm not coming across as being worthy of respect.
