For yoga I'd also say a year if you make it the main focus of your life (i.e. do it 2-3 hours a day).

2-3 years if you are devoted but taking it a bit easy.

I still think as you age it is currently the best bet as girls from 18 up to the hotter older women in their early 40s do it.

It has sheer numbers of women, retreats etc...

It is a big investment, but it is great for your physical health.

A key ingredient many guys are missing which is return visitors.

A girl has plausible deniability to hang out at your bar and bring friends because she thinks you're attractive.

Same with a yoga studio they can show up for class 2-3 times a week and feel socially valid.

Many of these ideas are 1 and done encounters where the odds stack against you and the interactions are short.

Even better if you are a bartender or yoga instructor is if a chick that is attracted to you but has a boyfriend right now (often times the highest quality chicks)... guess what when she gets pissed at him or they break up? If you are cool with her she is showing up to your yoga class admitting to you after class she just broke up or is showing up at your bar to take shots and let off some steam.

It works on so many levels.

A lot of guys have some decent ideas, but something like working at a yogurt shop doesn't give you any "pre-selection" or status, like working at a bar or teaching yoga would. The idea is not only are you in a fish bowl with a bunch of hot chicks, but you are at the top of the food chain, which only makes you more attractive and easier to pick up chicks.

The only way being so low on the pecking order could work to your advantage is if you have a bunch of hot co-workers that can easily be gamed. For a while I was toying with the idea of getting a part time job at my favorite natural foods grocery store, because not only do a shit ton of hot girls shop there, but there are a bunch of hot chicks in the 18-30 range that work there, and most of the people who work there seem to be friends and hang out outside of work. In that kind of situation it could be shooting fish in barrel, as not only do you have proximity (which in my opinion is one of the most important components of game), but you have an easy in to become "friendly" with them.

I live in a college town and I do yoga. I've gone to many classes early in the morning, late in the afternoon and on the weekends. I rarely if ever see college girls. Mainly I see late 20s-late 30s women.

I'm wondering if this is unique to my college town and if the posters recommending yoga instruction have a much different experience than myself?

I worked as a doorman/bouncer/barback at a popular bar back in college, and used that to my advantage. I've also known some in shape yoga instructors pull amazing girls. That said, I think some 'don't shit where you eat' logic applies, as eventually your conquests will run into some social circle / coworker conflict.

I work in student affairs at a large R1 and the best I can think of is hang out in places off campus where girls go. Coffee shops, maybe bars on weeknights. Be smooth.

I remember at my alma mater across the street there was this yogurt shop that would be PACKED with girls, mostly sorority chick the majority of the time there were always cute girls who either worked there or were there to get yogurt.

If you are more-or-less college aged though you might as well just hit up schools and daygame and say you are a grad student or transfer or something. Much simpler and straight forward. Then all you need to do is play the numbers game

This. In addition, a lot of the low-level gigs mentioned -- bartender, cafeteria worker -- tend to be taken by students anyway, and I imagine the posters in this thread are -past that point in life.

An ideal position would be some sort of advisory gig that would get you in contact with loads of students and see you with a bit more status than the people at the admin desks. Counsellors/psychs have already been suggested, there's also student wellbeing and careers advisers, which are pretty analogous roles.
A really useful role like that is a Study Abroad adviser/officer at the Education Abroad Office. You see a lot of face-to-face contact with the sort of chicks that into travel and puts you in a facilitating/mentoring role in terms of gearing them for their overseas programs. The biggest reward in that though, is the opportunity to receive and help settle in the incoming batches of exchange students that your institution receives.
Getting a sports managerial role at the Sports and Rec office is another DHV position. Basically, you're someone advising and coordinating entrants and teams for intervarsity games. So you'd be accompanying them to tournaments and such, be their mother hen, have to deal with whenever your athletes gets picked up by the cops for being drunk and disorderly, but most importantly get to party with them.

Another really DHV option is some sort of campus events member. There might be a DJ out on campus on Orientation Week or when there are barbeques and such going on. He, like DJs anywhere else, will have instant pulling power. That role is usually recruited through the student union and you may need connections but you'll be guaranteed to clean up.

I have worked many jobs at various colleges and universities. I have even been a professor.

The key things are access, status, and daily interactions.

Don't take a desk job in an office full of women on the 6th floor of the administration building. That job has limited access, limited status, and limited daily interaction with students.

From experience: desktop support at a college

You get to walk around campus. Talk to any girls you pass. Free classes and a degree as an employee perk.

IT was already mentioned, but any type of gig there would work for guys interested in that type of stuff. Any job that puts you on campus is good. A job that puts you into contact with students is better.

Photographer. You would need to purchase a DSLR and preferably a larger 70 - 200 mm telephoto lens, which could cost $1000 - $1500. I brought this to a hockey game (to practice taking pnotos, not even intending to game) and got compliments from several college-age girls. I would imagine this works on campus too.

Who knows - maybe these lizards think of the huge lens as a phallic symbol ;-)

This might require a bit more investment, but this is one idea I have been mulling.

Buying a multi unit residential property near a college campus, staying in one of the units, and renting the others out to girls exclusively. Not only does this take care of the game angle, but properties near campus are solid investments.

It doesn't necessarily have to be multiple units, even a house with a few rooms you can rent out would work just as well.

Yep, yoga beats everything else for older guys because not only will it supply you with the most health conscious women of all ages, it will keep you in great shape.
