They are located on the outside of Abreeza Mall. Although they may not have the NY style pizza w/ cheese that stretches and pizza that fold over OR the deep dish Chicago style, their pizza is really good. I have tried looking for decent pizza in Davao and this was the best for me. Not sure if they use stone oven but the texture looks like they do. I meant to ask them.

Also, for other good eats, go to Polo Bistro in Marco Polo. Great non Filipino dishes!

They're now requiring that you physically report to immigrations to be fingerprinted when extending your visa, as opposed to handling it completely through an agency. It's only a one time thing to get you on file, but I figured I'd give people a heads up.

Yep had to do fingerprints and everything ... Anyway, I am leaving Phils now for Nam and I forgot to extend once for over a month but lady at fastpass said it shouldn't be a problem since I stayed under 6 months (5 days under 6 months ) just making sure that she is right ???

Pretty sure i am going to Phil in Feb. I have a girl I have been talking to for about a year and we're gonna meet.

My only concern or issue is that she is insanely jealous to a point of being irrational. I'm a professional photographer and sometimes work with models or female subjects...sometimes shoot nudes. She cant separate dating and sex and my work. But she also relates it with female friends or clients.

I know asian women can be jealous but I cannot take that kind of stupid thought process on a constant basis. She's real nice and very pretty but from what I read, Asian women can be very jealous dont understand how americans have female friends they arent fucking.

I told her I am dating and that until we meet, I wont even consider a commitment. She doesnt push for anything but has pried and fished about other women. I'm gonna spend 4-5 days in Manila, then go see her in Cebu. Gonna take it all in......but will be in AU first for 10 days....

Where did you hear that? Do you have a link? I'm not doubting you, but I'd like to read up on it.

I had my visa renewed on Monday from a service and didn't have a problem nor did they mention any changes.

However, they were supposed to get me a ACR card but came back with just a 60 day extension and no ACR. The delivery guy said he'd get it late week but here we are Thursday night and I still don't have it. I'm now wondering if it's because of this new law. Shit, looks like I might have to do this manually again.

I think they need you to show up to get your prints into the system so they can start excluding undesirables.

BIG THING TO WATCH FOR: I was told by an experienced long term expat that there is a pitfall you must avoid:

If you have been in the Phils for 6 months or more, you MUST get an EXIT CLEARANCE or they will DENY YOU BOARDING on your flight.
You CANNOT get the exit clearance at the airport, you must go to an immigration office during normal hours.

He personally knew several people who had lost the price of their plane tickets because of this. No one warns you .

Assuming I get to know some hot girls and a potentially a couple of cool guys, I'll probably have a party at my place then head out to a club on Thursday or Friday night so if anyone wants to come along then you're welcome

The Philippines government has a immigration website that clearly states this policy, what you need to do before coming here and how to acquire extensions. Plus it's posted on the wall here in the Bohol Immigration Bureau what you need to do, depending on how long you have stayed in the Philippines. The procedures are not hidden in some obscure filing cabinet of a back office in Manila. Don't depend on the girl handing your passport over to know every single procedure and your unique situation.

Look at it this way. At least you don't need to hire a lawyer to just get a tourist visa.
Example: Someone leaving the Philippines to visit family in the US. Plus still have a high chance of being rejected.

I don't think you have to worry too much about this. Everywhere becoming America is one of the bigger misconceptions out there. Even in developed asian nations or city-states like Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan the women are still better than the U.S. The only exception is probably Korea but i'd argue that the women are still good for Korean men. The anglo countries have created a unique degenerative "perfect storm" that makes women so much worse than everywhere else. It's very much a cultural effect that's not easily replicated in Asia.

I've taken a hard look at the economy of the Philippines. Most of the growth is a regional effect spurred on by China's massive development over the last decade. The Philippines has critical problems especially in its outer provinces like Negros occidental. They have family/feudal systems in those areas where corruption is untouchable even by the authorities in Manila. Those legacy families have owned land for centuries and even have their own private armies and mercenaries on payroll.

Without those outer provinces reforming the Philippines will never get to that upper middle income tier much less the "developed" category. All that agriculture is gone to waste at the moment and the Philippines is nowhere near close to being competitive with the tiger economies.

Thanks for the warning. I guess it only applies for those who stay six months at a time, not those who travel in-and-out over the period of six months, right?

I stayed longer than 6 months and did the clearance thing in April. It's easy and straightforward. Just be sure to bring cash and a 2x2 and you're good to go.

I was warned by others about this and it's also on the immigration site.

Cool, looking forward to seeing you. I realise that now haha.

But when I booked it, I'd read that Makati and Malate were the main nightlife districts and Malate sounded like a more interesting place to stay because it sounded less like a western city and more like the genuine Philippines and different from anywhere I've experienced before (I've only ever been to Europe and the USA so I imagine Manila will be quit eye opening for me). I'll be on my own too so am not expecting to be partying all night every night, I wanted somewhere where I can just walk out my door and maybe meet some people and have fun and if not, it's no big deal because I can just pop back home. I realise now I didn't exactly choose the right place for that though!

It's basically on the border of Makati though so I think it should be a decent location. I liked the fact that it is by the sea too. The hottest girls I've spoke to online all say they go out in the fort.

Lived in Davao for 6 months, scammed: 0 times
In Manila 2 days, scammed(noticeably): 3 times

Obviously my fault for being amateur in 3rd world cities but still... if I return to Phils it's gonna be Davao again 100%, like another planet in terms of safety and honesty of people(very limited experience in Manny). Davao is even better then most of Europe.

Though I did notice a lot more 7+ girls in Manila (probably because they know what makeup is lol). Now in Saigon and it seems even worse then Manila, like every single person is trying to rip me off :/
